  • Napoleon's Madeira. Good provenance on the bottle and served in the original hand-made 3-part moulded bottle. Pale mahogany colour. Amazingly fresh nose with notes of candied peel, coffee, molasses and chocolate. A rounded, slightly austere palate with high acidity and medium-sweetness. Despite being a little drying, the finish was fantastically long. Stunning. It's a shame to put a score against something this old - it is like tasting a part of history.
