  • (Disgorged in early 1980’s, 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay)
Lovely golden colour with a stream of fine bubbles lead way for the mature nose showing butterscotch and roasted notes in a delicious way. Smooth yellow apples acidity on the palate at first and opens up with a delicious butterscotch creaminess on the finish showing a touch honey smoothness as well. Just delicious! But it’s time to drink these up now even though this particular bottle was still showing wonderfully tonight!

  • Scanavino Vertical: Golden colour. Nutty, mandarin, lemon and sea spray. Good acidity, the fruit is just slightly fading but there is a nice honeyed edge that gives the impression of some sweetness. In good condition and drinking well.

  • Champagne BYO including two 1973s (Stockholm): Golden colour, rather much mousse. Nose of winter apples, oranges, fruity but still developed, a hint of flowers, smoke. Palate with oranges, winter apples, quite a lot of citrus, loads of mineral, high acidity, long aftertaste. 92 p.

It was served blind, so it was quite surprising that it was so old, and a "plain vintage" from a large house. We were obviously very lucky with this bottle!
