One of the better old Ponnelle’s tasted lately with a multifaceted nose of sous bois, bright red and citrus fruits with firewood, clove, cinnamon, minty herbs soy sauce and a salty Worcestershire character. Smoke and incense continue the autumnal theme. This is super fine with a juicy, long feel to the fruit that shows delineation and elegance. Picture-perfect mature red burgundy with an extra Grand Cru dimension. This, like several of the wines tasted tonight, showed a notably resolved structure with tannins present but very much integrated, now, with the remaining fruit. A wine of arrival and great character. Bravo.

Tasted with Xavier94, I defer to his description of the wine. 95+ For me, the ‘47 Bichot RSV won the day.
