Medium garnet in color with minor bricking & clearing at the edges. An initially subtle nose which eventually developed with airing into a full, forward & fragrant of mature, ripe fruit aromas of strawberries & cranberries with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, spices minerals & a slight hint of sanguine in the background. Medium light bodied with a good concentration of matured, balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of strawberries, cranberries & red plum, herbs, spices, some cola & minerals. Long lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at 31 years of age & is surprisingly in very good condition albeit at its peak of development. Ullage was at neck/shoulder slope; cork was saturated but intact.

Slightly astringent tannins with some bitter and sourish fruit. The fruit had mostly disappeared but the tannins still remained strong. The palate was mostly secondary and tertiary notes with little resemblance of fruit while the tannins were still ever present. Drink Up.
