Thai Dinner with Some Old Riesling (San Francisco): *Golden orange color. Peach and apricot scent without botrytis or for that matter, petrol. Sweet but not terribly so. Marvelous feel and remarkably good acidity for this very warm vintage. Even if it is not the most detailed or fine Prum wine, it is a complete miracle at age 45.
*Initially mistakenly noted as the Wehlener Sonnenuhr Goldkapsel from the same vintage

An absolutely pristine bottle. This is the height of Mosel perfection. Fully mature but will keep here for 5-10 more. Color was perfect golden. If there was any bortrytis in this wine, it was clean as a whistle. Just the barest hint of smokey tea notes one gets in mature Mosel Riesling, meyer lemon flesh, honey. Very elegant and long. This is what aged Mosel Riesling should taste like.

Beat your 2013 WOTY Dinner: Peach, mandarin peel, lime, apple and light marmalade. Lovely acidity still present that works so well with the light-medium remaining sweetness - has plenty of textural interest beyond the acid and sweetness. Finishing long, it is really quite easy to love.

Zachys La Paulee Auction, Day Two (Smith & Wollensky - New York NY): Lots of fresh stone fruit with a caramelized note at end. Long and well textured with some candied apple also emerging on long finish.
