Nose: Earthy notes along with typical strawberry. Flavor has some metallic, iron-like notes, especially upon first opening. After an hour or so I started to get hints of spices and some nice velvety tannins. It is fairly high on acid (nothing like the bottle I categorized as flawed though), but already drinks really nice due to a balance with fruit and tannins.

I enjoyed this bottle but some thought the acidity was out of balance. This needs time to integrate. I've changed the drinking window to 2013-2023, this will improve with time because the quality of the fruit is very high. I enjoyed, but maybe some people just don't like burgundy??? AM

93+? Pts. This wine is really good. My first 2008 Burgundy, and what a refreshing start after a very average 2007. I keep hearing that 2008 is very close to 2001 (one of my favorite vintages) and this seems to confirm that notion.
As I decanted for 1.5 hours, before drinking with a cheese plate, black pepper crusted sausage and Marcona Almonds, the nose was very "baby poop" meets earth and mixed berry reduction. This took a full 3+ hours to really open into a full flavored dark red fruit beauty. Earth, spice, mild oak and medium dusty tannins add to the allure. This is a stunner and not to be missed. Burgundy QPR. Drink over the next 10 years, if you can wait that long, decant if drinking now...AMM
