  • Prior bottle was 3 and a half years ago and the wine has evolved consistent with expectations. Black cherry, blackberry and plum on the nose. Just a touch of spices and floral notes now. Slightly above medium bodied and more rounded and integrated in general than my prior bottles. Pretty black cherry with some hints of blackberry and brightness upfront (no red fruit notes). Mid-body feels fully integrated (especially after 4 hours open) and is dominated by black cherry and plum. The fruit qualities don't scream at you, but they do have good depth. Tannins and acidity on the backside are in much better balance than my prior bottles such that the finishing transition feels more harmonious. Mineral notes and balanced spices through the finish. This wine doesn't show huge complexity, but it shows it's fruit well. It doesn't have the elegance and depth of high-end Bordeaux, but for the price, it represents good QPR. I don't see it evolving much more beyond where it is today, but should be able to hold this level for several more years.

  • This has been a stuborn wine. Never really opens up. Very nice acidity, but the tannins have not matured properly. The alcohol makes it have a bite. Better the second day.

  • Nice herby elegant cabernet nose but palate dumb at first after a half-hour decant, then opens to show transparent and vibrant mature flavors with good acidity and depth and grippy tannins. Drink now. 89-90. Still nice on day 2.

  • PNP - A splendid wine with notes of a blend of berries followed by medium bodied red/blue berries with a welcome zing on top of a medium body. Wine was fairly open at open and added depth and menthol hints. While mature it seemed vigorous for its age. We like a bit of barnyard - so the added hint of barnyard was a plus. Best guess = drink now-18months.
