  Drank along Rioja Alta GR 2009, for me more elegant and complex but others preferred the 904, definitely in its prime drinking window

  Significantly less tired than the previous bottle approx 1y ago, excellent this time with great balance and plenty of life left!

  Quería abrir un Valbuena 2000 pero desgraciadamente salió defectuoso, lo tengo en el decanter esperando un milagro. Ante este fracaso abrí un 2005 y lo decanté unas dos horas. Presenta un color picota muy oscuro y brillante, casi negro. Aroma abierto y profundo e intenso hay mucha fruta, cerezas negras, roble fino, balsámicos, flores y tierra negra, si evolucionando a tierra negra y cueros. La boca es intensa y estructurada aunque menos definidas linealmente que otras añadas probadas, lo excepcional de este vino es su boca tremendamente expresiva, muy frutal, cerezas, grosellas, frutas del bosque con pimienta, resultado es un vino redondo , equilibrado que entra y pasa con una enorme elegancia y que deja un magnífico recuerdo.
  Si tuviera mas no tardaría en abrirlas

  Decanted 1-2h for Independence day with close friends. Heady tobacco and oaky nose, on the palate we have ample fruit, smoke, pepper and a long pleasing finish. Paired with halibut and brussel sprouts.

  Smokey nose that is getting slightly porty with air, already beyond peak in my opinion, good complexity with many layers and medium lenght. Drink up.
