Kurz dekantiert, fast kein Depot, im Glas purpurfarben, nur geringe Alterungstöne, am Gaumen merlotdominiert, harmonisch ohne Kanten, Tannine abgeschliffen, eher dunkle Früchte, kein Überflieger, eher feiner kleiner Wein aus gutem Jahrgang.

One of the lesser known right bank Bordeaux from one of the satellites of St.Emillion and Pomerol, always liked this Merlot driven red for very good value for money and the good+ juicy fruit showing in most bottles, this 1998 from a very good right bank vintage is no exception, pnp, full load of dark fruit, plums , some cassis and barnyard emerges, the palate with very good grip, supporting acid, a mineral core and lots of fresh dark fruit, good balance here still, the tannin a little rough in the long finish, very good pairing with a self made Pizza! In its prime for sure, this is a well stored bottle, guess that there are some declining ones on the market and cellars, drink up! **-***, around 88,89

Sorry guys. That's it. Downslope for many years already. Merlot dominanated wine from this terroir do last.....but not for 20 years of age and more. Better 10 years ago. Still something to enjoy.

Better tonight.
Still alive and fighting. Much more flesh, acidity and length.
Great left bank vintage. Nothing to buy but enjoy for what it is.
