Color: Brown Red Aroma / Bouquet: Fragile bouquet. Matured but pleasant. Sublte, tertiary aroma. Taste / Finish: This wine is on the way back. The tannins are soft, the acids are showing a beginning of adstringency. Still pleasant. General / potential: For a dinner-wine, still quite acceptable. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / Bouquet: 11 + Taste / Finish: 14 + General / potential: 7 = 87/100

1996 Bodegas Valduero Ribera del Duero Primium Reserva (Spanje, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero Kleur:) Robijnrood, oranjebruin aan de rand Aroma / bouquet: Rijp rood fruit, gedroogde pruimen, behoorlijke dosis vanille en eiken en als zodanig typisch 'klassiek-Spaans'. Smaak / Afdronk: Medium-bodied, matige zuren, gerijpte tannines, mist echter zowel concentratie als verfijning. Algemeen / potentieel: Prima glas, lekkere wijn zonder pretenties. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 9 + Smaak / Afdronk: 12 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 84

Red with some fading. Nicely balanced fruit and oak on the nose. A complex nose with some cedar and mint too. On the palate the fruit is more striking, dried and the oak quite sweet. Warm with very silky tannin.
