(Barbi Brunello di Montalcino) #2; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-really intriguing sour cherries popping; curiously tight, although this is young; a little red raddish; PALATE-Wow, I am grossly disappointed; the alcohol is spiking; a little off-balance; I see a lot of holes in this wine; the upfront fruit is not intriguing; it's a little hot on the uneventful mid-palate; the finish is lackluster and short; the tannins are bitter at best; disjointed, awkward and really disappointed; AG-91; GV-83

Brown red colour, still fresh, typical brunello. Drank to biff stroganoff, excellent.

Wonderful Brunello at its peak. Dark red color. Intense nose of dark cherries, spices, tobacco, vanilla. On the palate very round and silky, superconcentrated, astonishing big. Quite long finish in wonderful harmony and balance.

Poured dark, brownish red. Good legs. Notes of plumage, stewed red fruits, vanilla, leather. Good, rounded tannins. Needed an hour to really open up.

Good cork, and poured a medium ruby with initial orange edges. Nose of cherry, red alpine currant, oak spices. Colored improved with air, as did the nose. Very good intensity and concentration, with a bit of leather and licorice joining in on the long finish. Probably on downhill slope, so will not dally with final bottle. Very enjoyable.
