Time has been kind to this wine. Honeyed tropical fruits, peaches and cream, lychee, burnt caramel, and bottle-aged spices are complemented by beautiful noble rot and a kiss of salinity. Fresh, sultry, full bodied, and cleverly complex, it gains juicy traction on the back end. The long, botrytis-laced orange pith finish is a delight. Outstanding.

Golden color with apricot and orange marmalade nose; more orange marmalade in taste and medium finish. Surprising good acidity for desert wine. But nothing really exceptional unfortunately.

Underwhelming. I'm a big fan of stickies and rarely am I bored by one. Unfortunately that was the case. Served with a cheese cake topped with orange marmalade, and the pairing was shooting to highlight the orange element. It did that, but didn't leave much of an impression. Wanted more length or verve I guess.

Intense honey aromas. Very rich and sweet, but quite straight forward in style. The palate is soft, with a chunky texture, expressing some apricots but not much else. Nice acid for a dessert wine on the finish, but other than that things are pretty straight forward.

(Grgich Hills Violetta Late Harvest) Light medium chartreuse yellow color; focused vanilla, pear, baked pear, peach nose; tasty, rich, ripe pear, ripe peach, tart orange, mineral palate with good acidity; long finish
