  • This is really good. And I am so relieved. I bought a case of the flagship QC Cabernet,as well as Pal and Gal of 07. Three of the seven flagship cabs I’ve had so far are not very good. The corks were very suspect. And in a panic I started opening 07 Palengat and 07 Golitzine vin as I was worried that they might have been past their prime. You’ve heard it…”WA wines can’t age past 12 yes”…. Not this one.
This 07 Palengat is superb. Structure, balance, length. It’s all there. Wishing they had continued with the cab dominant Palengat. Just a great blend.

  • This wine needed some time. Started opening around the 2 hour mark.

Closed nose, but showed some hints of pencil shavings and dark berry. Well rounded tannins, after time showing dark berry, eucalyptus, and some blackberry.

  • Purple in color. 15.2% ABV. 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Sublime nose of black and blue fruits, scorched earth, violets and Whitman Sampler box. Lush, rich and full bodied with remarkable balance. Black currants, cassis liqueur, blueberries and cocoa on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish with gritty tannins. The first two vintages of this wine are both delicious but lack the polish of the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon from Quilceda Creek. Perhaps it is the age of the vines? Best over the next several years.

  • By far the best of my three bottles, the oak has now integrated into the wine leaving a rich, opulent take on WA Merlot.
