Drinking really well. Has some smoked meat, sous bois and a hint of coffee development on the nose. It is sweet and vinous, with something stony and cool just below the surface. There's a fine line of minerally acidity and a lacy feel against the gums. It has decent length of flavour and finishes quite savoury.

I’ve really enjoyed this over the years, and last night was no exception. Pretty wine, pure cherry fruit with a little overlay of sour cherry, some earth and cedar. Resolved tannin, tangy acids, nice length. Pretty much what you could ask for in mature village Chambolle. A-/B+

Ready to go, delicious red and black cherry fruit, a little smoked meat, some spice. Tannins resolved, acids bright and balanced, nice length. Delicate but not fragile. Just what I want in a village Chambolle. A-/B+

Lovely showing with some air- black cherries, spice, earth, smoke. Nice acids, just a hint of framing tannin, long, just what one would want in a mature village wine. A-/B+

The 01 RSV is nowhere near ready, this is just entering prime time. You get a little meat and earth on the aroma. It has lovely, fleshy sweet cherry fruit and a cool cherry stone heart. It is full and lacy with decent volume and nice minerally cut to the finish.
