The age of this wine is revealed by the presence of some brown tones in the wine. But the taste of the wine shows nothing tired or thin. Nose filling fruit flavors, firm and drying tannin, and bright acidity. Excellent concentration from nose to finish, while remaining eloquent and delicious.

This was my last bottle. Drank at Joe and Wendy's during the NFC/AFC championships. Had with Joe's homemade pastrami/brisket. This was probably my best bottle of the lot. Who knows maybe it was a perfect pairing.

Served beside a rotating cast of 7 wines with lunch and dinner over days, this $20 Rasteau Grenache repeatedly was one of the favorites both by itself and with food. Opaque with a half inch pour and a ruby edge. Savory aromas of smoked meat, blackberry, and forest floor. Comes smoothly into the mouth, amply structured by bright acidity and tannin without being invasive or oppressive. Delicious raspberry and cherry fruit. Good concentration with nothing tired or old. The enduring fruit and the still firm tannin will keep this wine at least as good for the next 5 years.

Not sure where this wine is going. This bottle was disappointing compared to last. A light and watery quaff. Nothing like my last bottle that had some nice body with an even balance of fruit and spice. Not much fruit left with this one which gives me pause as to hoping this was due to bottle variation and not a true picture of where this wine is going. I will be getting at my last three bottles with greater haste.
