Very fresh, but just a bit marked by the vintage; initially some harsh, heated notes, gets better with air. Still, I dont see an upside here. Too expensive, anyway. #Petit Rouge

The colour is thinning at the edges, a purple-red. Full-on nose, very rich and velvety; dark fruits, spice, old leather, liquorice, a floral element (muguette/lily-of-the-valley ?). Medium-full to full bodied, supple tannins, rounded, meaty, leather. Good length.

Drinking at peak, this wine has more of a future than cellar tracker believes. Southern Rhone wines are not in my wheel house, but this wine deserves attention. A slight tannic bite remains. A little hot on the finish, but otherwise very well balanced and begging to be opened. Addendum: Tried again 48 hours later. Now tastes over extracted and lacking in acidity. If you have this wine, drink it all on day one!

My last bottle and this one was right on point. Delicious after three hours in the bottle with the cork out.
