Allowed to breathe in glass 1 hour. Clear deep dark garnet color. Elegant subdued bouquet of mixed black and red fruits and their liqueurs; fennel, bay leaf, forest floor, hints of eucalyptus and cardamom. Little to none of the mintiness often found with this wine. Full body, excellent balance, seamless. Improved with air, held up fine under vacuum stopper in refrigerator, showing best on the third evening.

A wonderful wine that is still very much alive and in its prime, showed the trademark Mint & Eucalypti™ but more remarkable for me was the dusty, spicy and pungent flavor of blackcurrant upon blackcurrant, with a mostly-resolved tannin that reminds me of blueberry leaf, when paired with the moderate acid reveals a bit of cola. Long finish. Brilliant with a filet and shiitakes. Deffo new world but old world in soul, a nice memoir of Napa past.

I found this thoroughly enjoyable, but it is probably in the decline phase. The wine was overpowered by smoked brisket a little bit, so the pairing didn't help. With a lighter meal this will probably show better and its nuance will be better appreciated. Still very good now with at least another 5+ years of pleasure.

(Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard) Deep garnet core, fading slightly on the rim. Mint, green tea, cedar, currant jam, and blackberry on the nose. Great balance on the palate, including a noticeable acidity that matches well with food. Long finish; the complete package. Terroir: Martha's Vineyard

Very nice. A little over the hill and has CDP elements. Lovely texture and medium finish.
