Mealy, meaty and savoury. Some quinine, almond, and browning apple spread. Medium to full body. It’s toasty and savoury, but lean through to a saline finish. long and linear, there’s not much fat. Reminds me to drink more Viognier. It’s a lean and focussed Viognier, the oils are low but present and it’s more about savoury salt and white pepper tannins. Very impressive. Drink now to 5 years.

I always find myself wanting to describe this as authoritative - it has that air of knowing that it is pure, correct viognier, with a bit an acrid grip from the oak - it's splendid.

Similar notes to last time. Took a little while to open up yielding an impressive floral bouquet with stone fruit, peach and a touch of animale on the long finish. Interestingly our lunch guests thought this was a Reisling or Gewurtzaminer. 91-92 in its best drinking window now but can wait.

fragrant nose of stone fruits and honey.... palette not as pronounced as nose and finish has hint of bitterness.... not so good

Quietly powerful, mineral, without the spice of a condrieu - very satisfying
