A pleasant surprise, this old (for medium body CA Cab) was in surprisingly good shape. Nice berry fruit emerges from a neutral background, as the tannins have largely subsided. No oxidation. Just some really nice berry juice.

Typical Sequoia nose, intersting but refined, thought size of bottle might provide longer dirinking window but, medium body with fading fruit through the eveing. Pleasent but not memorable.

Blackberries and smoke with an oak finish. Had this bottle in the cellar for a while. Cork broke. A ton of sediment at bottom of the bottle. If you've got a bottle of this, I suggest standing it up for a couple hours before opening. You might want to decant if you worry about sediment. Other than that, a nice bottle of wine. Drink Now.

Pleasant nose with aromas of smoke and dark berry fruits; this is the best part of the wine; medium to full body; weak mid-palate with fading fruit; mellow tannins but still dominate the taste; quick finish; not near as good as I remember the last time I tasted approximately a year ago; probably time to consume this wine before it really goes south.

This bottle was supposed to be past its drinkability date. It did start to lose its fruit as it sat open but it was still a wonderful bottle of wine.
