I would rather not comment on answer A or C as I am but a newbie, although B looks fairly promising. As for me, being stuck in Tasmania for the time being means I am a little behind in getting os product.
2001 Faiveley Clos de la Marechale x 6
2000 Bahans Haut Brion x 6
2004 VT La Crau x 12
2003 Mt Mary Quintets x24 (6FOC)
2005 Dom de Senechaux Rouge x6
The CnDP's are by far the buy of the year so far for me.

Now here's a departure for me!
Was offered along with others (by one of the better UK dealers) the opportunity to offer any price for a number of wines they didn't want.  If my offer was the highest I got the wine.
I now own:
10 cases 2003 Bibi Graetz Casamatta Toscana IGT for 130 pounds
5 cases 2004 Bibi Graetz Casamatta Toscana IGT for 50 pounds
and 5 cases 2002 La Grolet Tête de Cuvée for 155 pounds

Hence average price (IB) of 1.40 sterling per bottle.

Am I :
A  Stark raving Mad
B  Likely to get drunk very cheaply
C  Very wise, this is the bargain of a lifetime.

Answers on a postcard to the 1st Wadi on the left, past the Oasis.

Bargain.  Bibi Graetz is a very nice Sangiovese.  I have not had the La Grolet, so even if it is a total bust the Bibi will hold a good 7-10 years.

You've made my day, I'm generally only knowledgable about 1855 claret.
If I'm honest I didn't expect to get any of them and I also I expected that if I did I'd have to drink them fast.
Been looking them up and apparently Bibi is an artist and a wine producer - what a life!
And what I've found on Chateau la Grolet is promising.
Thanks again,
L.

Think I just got quite a lot of 2002 Le Vin de Bob Blanc (Barrel Fermented) for <$4 a bottle (before tax).
Sadly that's nearer $8 after UK duty & tax :(
Anyone drunk this?

2004 Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve  -  I pondered over this for a few days since it made the WS Top 10 for 2007 list.  I felt like a hypocrite since I started the other thread about the Top 100.  But I felt it was too good of a deal to pass up.

1977 Sandeman Porto Vintage - Probably against my better judgement, but again, a steal!  Honestly it was just something to add to the cellar.

Because I am out of town and do have access to my cellar I brought the following

Chapellet Mountain Cuvee 2004
Roseblum Zinfandel Carla's Vineyard 2005
Yalumba Antique Tawny
Chateau Sainte Anne 2004 (Last vintage for this chateau, they were acquired by Latour, makes me a little sad because I discovered them very recently and had looked forward to having them as a staple cellar defender)

At least there's no future commitment.  I'll take the risk with the fall shipment and then decide.  Acknowledged that this won't be a fair representation of Paso wines and will need to investigate much, much deeper   Tobin James may be a little "weird" - let's just hope it can at least elevate to "interesting".  Ever try their late-harvests?  I'd be interested in those.

sorry 'bout the late reply...I forgot I chimed-in on this thread...
I have tried one of Tobin James' late harvests -- it was the most varietally correct bottling of his that he was pouring when I visited.  For your sake, I hope you end up liking his stuff.  For more "serious" wine, you should really check out some of the "westside" producers from Paso.

Don't ya'll just hate it when you go into a liquor store telling yourself you're not even going to look at the wine section, and then you do anyways (so hard to fight the temptation!)?  Of course, you inevitably end up finding deals that just "can't be passed up."  Well, this happened to me this past weekend when I was visiting family in MN, and I found myself buying the following bottles (and miraculously holding off on purchasing any of the 4 remaining bottles of the 2004 Tignanello which were priced at only $80 a pop!):

2001 Vieux Telegraphe CdP
2003 Finca Sandoval
2002 "The Gate" Shiraz - from McLaren Vale
2004 Quinta do Crasto Douro Reserva Old Vines (I had to fight temptation to buy all four remaining bottles of this one).

If I could afford it I would have bought the '04 Tignanellos strictly for investment purposes, but the money is spread rather thin these days!  Every other place I've seen has had them at no less than $120 apiece.

found this magnetic price tag at Costco stuck to a display case holding a 2001 Chateau D'Yquem 375ml -- and it makes a cool refrigerator magnet too!

The Millsreef Merlot Malbec should be interesting.  Didn't know any malbec was being grown there but I've had their Gimblett Gravels Syrah and it was outstanding.

Appreciate any insights into the Black Guts (I bought based on no knowledge, but a good deal).
WA gives it 96 and WS 86.
I like these differences, makes my eventual tasting much more fun.

    Update on my bargain buys:

2003 Bibi Graetz Casamatta Toscana IGT (Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT) Paid $2.10 (after UK taxes $5.54)
Really quite good, certainly good enough for Pizza or my anchovy, chilli and olive Pasta!

2002 Château la Grolet Tête de Cuvée (France, Bordeaux, Côtes de Bourg) Paid $5.03 (after UK taxes $8.98)
    Even better, really pleasantly surprised.

Sadly my Bibi Bianco and Vin de Bob (Blanc) weren't in the same league, perhaps I'm just a red wine drinker.
Now what do I do with the 20 cases of white:  there's just so much I can give to my next door neighbour "Bob"!

Continuing my Aussie sojourn, bought the last 8 bottles of 2005 d'Arenberg Shiraz The Dead Arm that Waitrose had on offer.
Good price, wanted more; had to top up to 1 case with a rather good Katnook.
