A brilliant effort! Caramel, marmalade, glazed brown sugar, with definite notes of pineapple and citrus. Hints of quince. Flat out delicious wine! Surprisingly, this still tastes young to me. The caramel-butterscotch finish is to die for!

Coravin taste. Lots of oak on the nose. Creamy, modern, oaky palate with sweet black fruit. Not showing a lot of Bordeaux. Hm. 14.5/20

A delightful wine! This is done in the new style seen in WW, with early picking of the grapes, with more brilliant fruit but with a lighter body and shorter finish. A great summer wine that doesn’t leave you grabbing your toothbrush, like so many Rocks wines tend to do. I love them both, but see occasions for each.

nose - cornucopia of red fruit, a touch confected
mouth - juicy, elegant, strawberry, very fresh. confirms my impression that soldera drinks well out of the gate, though i would recommend holding this for 3-5 yrs to allow it some time to calm down. more fresh than complex at this young stage.

Now really quite settled, the edges rounded out and the raw power evolved into something much more sophisticated. This is an absolutely cracking wine and pleases right across the palate, though having doubled in price in the last 10 years, this is now sadly beyond reach

High quality for a low cost. Good Riesling purity and good balance. Both for drinking in the sun and the right food. Almost Kabinett quality

Needs.a few hours of decanting to open, and especially loose the bratty/fart-note, that I don’t like much.
After a few hours, it opens and becomes very fresh, upbeat(?), and drinkable. Could have guessed light Barolo on this. Nice.

Three years since last tasted and still feels too young but continue to be impressed with the overall balance. Medium gold in the glass, fine bubbles and average effervescence. Fresh nose of green apples peaches and toast. On the palate getting more of the brioche yeast elements with plenty of acidic zippiness and lemons. Medium length with some minerality showing through the fruit. Plenty of gum licking going on.

Can in DK sometimes be bought for 20 euro. A very cheap Brunello and you even get some of the Brunello characteristics but I see it more as a 100% sangiovese wine with clean juicy and dry cherry tast. A food wine.

Light in colour there is a candyish sweetness to this, a little close to pineapple juice, which is thankfully tempered by some peppery clove notes on the finish. Is refreshing and clean but suffers from a lack of richness

light red, almost rose
nose - plum, savory, hint of animale, hint of dried flowers, hint of black pepper.
mouth - i can see how this gets compared to burgundy. flavor is much more intense than the color might suggest. there is a savory vein that runs thru the middle of the wine that equally reminds me of the northern rhone. great purity of plummy fruit. this is the perfect wine to serve in a black glass.

Lovely wine. Really delivers for a "second tier" wine. Heavy crust in the bottle. Pours clear, still more red than browned. Nose of baking spices and plums. Palate of fruit (red and black cherries and plums) with a touch of wet slate.

Super tough pairing (wood grilled beef tenderloin medallions, butter & garlic mashed potatoes and Roquefort sauce).
The cool, graphite, mineral action is on. Dark-fruited but cool because of that mineral strength. Like it a lot.

Fantastic. Cooler climate cabernet. Pours clear, ruby red in colour. On the nose there is still cabernet fruit and cassis. Palate of fruit jubes, bay leaf and ripe cherry.

Decanted a portion and it opened within 30 min. Vacuvin’d the rest and similar results on day 2 and 3. Deep purple and ruby color.
👃🏻 floral notes, blackberry, cedar
👅 blackberry, black cherry, licorice, plum, pepper with 35-40 sec finish. Similar to last impressions but more tertiary notes now. Plush with some elegance. Great pairing with steak pasta.

Love what Epoch is doing at the estate, and have always been a fan of the wines. This 2013 is 82 Syrah/18 Mourvèdre, all from Paderewski vineyard. Followed over two days.

From start to finish, everything about this is Paso. Any time a wine can speak to place, that’s a checkmark for me. As most high quality Paso wines do, this has a weightless yet jam-packed fruit profile. Decidedly dark, but with 11yrs, it’s fading from black fruits to a kiss of red fruits. Mixed berry jam initially on the nose before it shows a spiced profile of cherry jerky, espresso, red and black currant and a sweet dark fig at the finish. Day 1 showed the spice upfront whereas day 2 showed the softened fig profile. Both enjoyable, just different. Enjoy over the next few years before this sheds its classical fruit.

Cork was in good condition. Deep dark red/crimson.
Nose: full sweet dark berry compote. Some oak, sandalwood, spice, black pepper. Clean and fresh. Just a hint of camphor and lilac. Rich dark velvety fruit with oak. Lovely perfumed nose. Alcohol was not noticable or out of balance.
Tannins have softened since last tasted 7 years ago. Balanced palate, juicy, mellow, if anything finish is a little short.
Lovely drinking now. At it's best now and for 5+ years

Deep ruby red, completely opaque.
Blackcurrant predominant on the nose with hints of raspberry, menthol and oak.
Still plenty of tannins on the palate with cassis and some cooling menthol.
Long finish of blackcurrant and oak.
Surprisingly delicate for a Coonawarra Cab Sav and well balanced

Beautiful wine. Earth, tannic, medium body, electrical wires for an hour. Then fruits appear, still hanging on to the tannins. This wine has a few more years but it’s wonderful right now.

Now we're talking. The Donna's reminded me of the typical Estate in 2019, and this bottle of the Estate is more like Donna's than usual.

Cool climate Syrah aromas of olive, black pepper, roasted poblano, petrol, blackberry, basil, and jerky. Complete, complex aromas. Ripe blackberry and fresh herbs on the attack, with a silky, oak-free mid-palate. Ripe, integrated tannins glide on the finish, black fruit, herbs and a splash of Italian amaro carry the finish for like a minute.

Really strong vintage, sneaky structure that will allow this to age, and deeper mid-palate with better integrated acidity than usual. Open for business, drink or hold.

Popped and poured. Right off the bat, showing brilliantly and probably at its apogee. No sign of rust, it is a beautiful ruby that falls just short of opaque. The nose is simply gorgeous, indeed haunting and memorable. Fresh Tempranillo fruit that I am sure is the purest example of this grape I have ever smelled. Shines on the palate as well, with a purity of fruit and just plain CLASS that only great bottles can achieve. Absolutely fabulous. This wasn’t cheap but for wine of this caliber, worth it. 5-14-19-9: 97/100.

Expressive nose, very pleasant, my wife who is more a BdN than a BdB drinker liked it immediatly for its charm and succulence. Generous palate, rich with butter croissant on the attack and some bitter greens on the finish. Good acidity, good complexity. If you are a lean / low dosage friend this may not be your wine, for all others, a great, pillowy Champagne.
