Red
Healthy red colour. Mature nose, a hint of mushroom, a bit of complexity. Elegant mouthfull of typical mature Haut-Medoc flavours: berries, graphite, autumn leaves. Smooth long finish showing some very fine grained tannins. Satisfying for an autumn evening - and that corresponds well with this fresh and very rainy spring here in France.

Really enjoyed this- but was having too much fun to take notes. I do recall thinking it had some notes that I associate with “ma petit Francine” a cab franc from Yarra I recall very fondly. Must be a terroir note given the different grapes. Would definitely buy again.

A fully mature and very expressive vintage of Rieussec with classic aged flavors of chalky minerals, clove spice and fresh butterscotch. Just the ight touch of sweetness with good balancing acidity which keeps it light on its feet and not cloying. A lovely surprise.

Drikk denne PnP.

Day 1: Quite deep almost opaque ruby/purple for a gamay. Not much on the nose, maybe some red fruits and spice. Palate is rich and concentrated with tart cherry, red and even some dark fruit, spice, licorice, lots of twiggy/stemminess and a fair amount of tannin. Nice texture, good acidity and even some minerality. Feels like it needs food. I think this is a decent wine but not really something I'd go back to. Just a bit too tart and stemmy. 87. Day 2: a bit better. Mellowed the tannins and the stemmminess, better balance of fruit, earth and spice. 88

A full-bodied and ripe vintage for PB and it's beginning to reach maturity showing really delicious and classic Pauillac flavors of tobacco, sweet gravel and graphite minerals. Excellent freshness and good acidity balance out the rich fruit and I expect this to grow in complexity over the next decade. A complete wine in my book.

Crisp and light, without being bland with an almond sweetness on the finish - a little less acidity than perhaps I was expecting made it very quaffable. This did follow the a 2008 Bollinger Grand Annee, so my taste may have been somewhat skewed.

Drinking beautifully after decanting. Plenty of years left in this wine.

Still tasted very young with lots of dark fruit and pepper and a good level of tanin and very little funk, so it will go along way. Slight, but pleasant note of raisin on the finish

Lett VA. Lett skittenreduktiv. Med luft først og fremst ripssaft med en viss struktur. Struktureren tar vekk noe quaffability men bidrar også til kompleksitet. Uansett en ganske enkel og fruit forward vin på en sær miks med litt for mye naturpreg for meg.

Popped and poured. Fully mature and quite nice out of the bottle, still some fruit and decent finish, as a reminder of what it once was. But drink fast because it rapidly declines. Started about a 94 and declined to a 90 over an hour.
White - Sparkling
Still young, bubbly with citrus and some green apple in the mouth, but the finish is a gloriously long wave of vanilla fudge, really beautiful. Delicious now and I imagine has quite some improvement to come.

Enjoyed in Siena, Italy. Juicy. Dark rich cherry, iron, wet stone on the nose, finish smooth and very integrated, lingering. Not situational 😃 and delicious.

Not a fan. The most “commercial” tasting Okanagan wine I’ve had in a while. Overly extracted and sweet. Maybe it’s just me, or maybe a bad bottle.

Vegetabilsk duft med strå, hint av grapefrukt, urter. Rund i munnen og med merkbar friskhet, om enn mindre enn i tysk Riesling. Tilknappet, virker litt uforløst nå.

With a ton of air, this started to show plenty of development with classic Pomerol volume and depth. Dark-fruited with excellent complexity developing on the finish with notes of tobacco, minerals and forest floor spices. More mature than the '98 tasted a few weeks ago.

Deep dark ruby with cloudiness and lots of fine sediment floating around. Nose of red and black berries with violets. Flavours of red and black berries, cassis, some earthiness but overall quite fruity and full. Got better with air. Decent but not a great QPR and this vintage is on its last legs. Probably wouldn’t buy again, but made me curious about their Malbec.

Gold.
Aromas of bruised apple, roasted almond, apricot, acacia blossom and crushed rock. Hint of sherry.
Vivid orangey acids and ginger bitterness.
Palate of plum tart, raisin, walnut, fig jam, honey, apple sauce and sea breeze. Hint of islay whisky.
A mature, complex and muscular wine with ripe yellow fruit, bitter nutty notes and a grand mineral finish. Drink within 3-5 years.
Tasted alongside Chablisienne Les Clos 2014 and the matched wine was greater, better balanced and livelier yet with a firm acidic grip.

Gorgeous lemony acids and grapefruit bitterness.
Palate of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon curd, acacia blossom, peach stone and crushed rock. Hint of licorice.
A crisp, vivacious, complex and great Chablis with bright yet mature fruit, beautiful mouth-filling acidity and a perfumed and very long finish. Drink within 5 years.
Tasted alongside Remelluri, Blanco, Rioja 2014 and the present wine was greater, better balanced and livelier yet with a firm acidic grip.

From 75cl, DIAM5(!) closure, the best wine I have ever encountered with such a short drink-by date printed on the "cork". Bright ruby, hint of orange at the rim. Gorgeous scent of spicy morello cherry, victoria plum, redcurrant and strawberry. Medium-bodied entry, more of the aforementioned fruit descriptors, plush tannic framework; juicy acidic gain on the mid-palate; vibrant, long, resonant finish. Somewhere between an exceptional Sangiovese, an exceptional Nebbiolo, and an exceptional Syrah, but with only 13% alc(!) At 24 EUR/75cl this is my bargain of the year so far, and a clear 92P.

The perfect porch/pool pounder. Even works to drink out of a Yeti cup. Supernova isn’t a normal Cali sparkler since it’s essentially carbonated rosé, so it is easy to consume when ice cold. As someone who isn’t much of a regular rosé fan but loves bubbles, this is right up my alley.

Last bottle of the 2022 as my 2023s have arrived! These are best consumed within a year or two so that the fruit is still vibrant.

Bright and fresh red fruits all day. This is strawberries to the max, with some watermelon and rose water. It has this gummy-fruit forward characteristic that I associate with Pinot meunièr (even though PM isn’t in this) and a really crisp white peach profile toward the finish. Not meant to be overly complex or layered, this does a great job of keeping it simple…and tasty on a hot Texas day.

Natural wine from 40 year old vines, oak barrel maturation.
Darker yellow colour. Complex palate, which reminded my of a GG; oily texture, chalky-salty minerality, brioche, fruits (pear, melon, lemon zest), nuts, and some mint. Well done!
Early drinking window, but already well accessible. Falstaff rated 94p.

This one has grown up nicely. Tannins are still not fully resolved. Notes of black cherry, plum, and blackcurrant. Subtle nuances of vanilla and cedar, with accents of black pepper. Also some earthy and mineral notes. A lovely finish leaving an enjoyable impression.

Overall, the 2015 De Toren Z offers a complex and well-balanced tasting experience, combining rich fruit flavors with oak influence, spice, and herbal nuances, all supported by well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity.

This bottle was ok, not great. Some green notes, even a little tomato leaf on the nose, might have suggested less than ideal storage, but the palate was so velvety and fine that I think it may just be a case of the vintage itself. It has some rhubarb, developing leather, and mint. Not at all worth the secondary price but still quite enjoyable. No sediment in this bottle.

Till en sötpotatisröra med lammentrecote var detta tamt. Även efter maten var det tamt. Kan nästa flaska vara bättre?

A superb vibrant, complex and attractive dark-fruited nose of plum, blackberry, cigar, leather, balsamico, garrigue and some animale. How lovely savory, volatile aromatics! Makes you think of Bandol, but also Tuscany to some extent. On the palate it is mouthfilling with velvety, rich fruit and plentiful, grippy tannins. Amazing how generous the fruit is at this point while there is also plenty of tertiary notes. There is nothing tired about this cheap almost 30-year old that sports a wonderfully chewy mouthfeel and a very persistent, balanced finish. It’s heady despite the stated 12.5% ABV but not in a bad way at all and certainly drinks very well.
