Cherry, raspberry - fairly lifted sweet nose. The palate feels a bit thin though, with the tannins cutting the length a bit short.

Briar, redcurrant and graphite on the nose. Lean on the palate, feels quite thin and simple throughout.

Blackberry, toast and mild cherry nose. The palate lacks in depth, with a somewhat clipped finish as well. Disappointing.

Licorice and some herbal notes. A little more depth here than some of the previous wines, but still certainly in the leaner style. Lacks a little excitement, but decent.

Raspberry and ash. Palate feels a little disjointed, with the tannins and acidity standing out and apart from the fruit.

Redcurrant, earth and roses. There is good structure here and there is enough depth to the fruit to feel nicely balanced. Medium length.

Tobacco and blackcurrant, chocolate and oak. Richness steps up on the palate, there is good fruit depth and intensity. It carries a lightly sweet edge but I quite like how it all sits together.

Quite green tinged with herbs, ash and cedar. Palate is quite fresh, the green notes certainly carry across and do give it a bit more interest. Medium length.

Strongly herbal notes - brier and vegetable aromas. The palate probably shows a bit too much of the herbal edge for me as well, it may appeal to some, but I wasn't a fan.

Blackberry, kirsch and toast. Medium depth to the fruit, there is good balance and nice length, just needs a bit more finesse to give it a spark.

Tight nose, with some red cherry and berries along with lightly earthy oak. Good balance on the palate, the fruit profile is lean but the elements of the wine work well together. Very good.

Graphite, spice, blackberry and a dark floral note. Structure here is impressive, with the tannins fine but also assertive. Good length and depth. Very solid wine.

Oak and chocolate on the nose. The palate is a mix of oak and tannin, without having the fruit to compensate. Perhaps in a bad spot, but not appealing tonight.

Spice, blackcurrant and violets. Sweet fruit profile, which works well along with a faint herbal trail. Medium length.

Tobacco and mint aromas. The palate shows heavy acidity, with the fruit needing a bit more concentration to fully keep up. Medium length on this.

Blackcurrant, cherry and cola on the nose. I like the palate balance, there is some sweet fruit up front, with decent structure and a little savoury streak to give it some interest. Showing pretty nicely.

Graphite driven, some oak and a light herb element coming through. Good punch to the fruit on the palate, it has good texture and enough depth throughout. Has interest and potential.

Taut nose with some light red fruits coming through. Soft on the palate, the fruit is very gentle and the structure is of a similar nature. Drinking okay for now, I wouldn't leave it longer term though.

Blackberry, floral notes, cherry and truffles through the earth. The palate shows off lovely purity of fruit, with really good composure and control. Really love the effortless balance and depth this wine has.

Very light natured - floral, spice, some light earth and some plum on the nose. The palate is delicate across the very good length, there is a sense of power but always in the background. Quite fine and with a lovely sense of restraint. Great stuff, with plenty of potential as well.

Sweet cherry jam and ribena on the nose. The palate has a disconnect between the sweet fruit and some rather shrill acidity. Much too far out of balance tonight.

Earthy spice and cassis on the nose. Unfortunately on the palate, the alcohol sticks out and the other elements can't cover for it, leaving it out of balance. Hopefully just an awkward spot for the wine.

Chocolate, graphite and plummy notes on the nose. Well proportioned palate with good grip through the tannins, the fruit has enough power to bring things into balance. Pretty nice.

Red fruits on the nose with redcurrant and cherry. The palate has a pretty red element but the acidity starts to stick out through the middle. Not bad, but also not providing much pleasure on this occasion.

Chocolate, earth and grassy herbs. Nice savoury element to the palate. Lacks a little in depth, but drinks pretty nicely right now.

Fairly soft nose, with a mix of red and black fruits. The palate is decent, with some savoury elements and decent structure. Drinking well now.

Lean nose with some musk and rose. The palate has some strong tannin and acid that doesn't really work with how lean the fruit is.

Kirsch and some herbal notes on the nose - smells nice enough. The palate is quite weak/dilute and doesn't really have enough carry to it though.

Licorice, plum, redcurrant and some charcoal. Good palate balance, a nice mix of tannins and sweet fruit. Showing well now and should continue to do so over the shorter term.

Strawberry, some toasty oak and earth. Good lift on the palate, the fruit is nicely fresh and it has good carry and length. Pretty stylish wine.

Toast, raspberry, roses and smoke. The structure is good here, the elements all work well together. Lacks a little complexity but it seems to have the right mix that it will come with time.

Red florals, ash, tobacco, redcurrant and some complexity adding green notes. Very composed on the palate, the fruit has good shape and is really quite delicious. Structure is present but doesn't dominate. Really good length to it.

Plum, spice and flint on the nose. The palate is a little bit hard and doesn't have too much depth to it. Okay length.

Earth, plummy and charred notes. Good spice on the palate lends interest. Medium length and good potential to improve over the medium term.

Herbs, toast and earthy notes on the nose. The tannins and acidity are both quite high on the palate, though there is some good fruit to counter. Not a showy wine, but there is potential there, it just isn't nearly ready yet.

Black cherry, licorice, plum and spice on the nose and palate. Good structure and fruit purity, definitely lacks the length of a really great Cos, but this should develop into something very nice.

Violet and herbs with a strong cedar element. The palate shows the oak as well, a little too lopsided given the lack of intensity with the fruit.

Blueberry and blackberry fruit on the nose. Medium bodied, this is nicely put together and this should benefit from some medium term ageing.

Pencil shavings and blackberries. Nice elegance to the fruit on the palate, it has enough ripeness but is also held back well. Good length.

Vegemite and vegetables with a toasty element. A little raspy on the palate at the moment, I think this might improve with some more time but it wasn't on song tonight.

Chocolate, tobacco, cedar and blueberry. Palate has plenty of spice to it, decent intensity and carry. In a good position to develop well.

Corked.

Blackberry, pencil shavings, slate and spice. The palate has plenty of freshness and decent length, it's good but it is far from convincing in terms of depth and interest.

Blackberry, blueberry, cherry, chocolate and spice - plenty going on with the nose here. The palate has great focus and the fruit is really perked up by the acidity. Really great balance and length. An excellent youthful showing for this wine.

Toast, roses and earth. Very fruit driven on the palate, there is a punch to the fruit but there is well balanced structure. More time should really help this along.

Rich fruit on the nose but it also has plenty of pepper and herbal notes to it. The palate shows the sweet red fruits initially but it also comes back into focus quickly and ends with good length.

Herbal and chocolate notes. Lacks in interest and length on the palate. Rather mediocre.

Truffle, earth, blackcurrant and licorice. The palate is well structured to match with the rather savoury fruit profile. Feels well balanced and has interest even at this early stage.

Burnt rubber and smoke. Hopefully a bad bottle.

Roses, violets and cherry. Soft and quite approachable palate. Decent length. Simple but nice enough.

Violet, graphite, cassis and herbs. Palate shows some class, with good balance and structure. All held together well, would be nice if there was a bit more excitement present, but it wasn't there tonight.

Meaty, smoke, mulberry and cassis on the nose. The palate is excellent, it has verve and good lift. Really good length and while the depth isn't astounding, there is enough there for this to stand out among some other very good wines in the flight.

Pencil, raspberry, cherry - a nice mix of black/red/earthy fruits. The tannins are quite assertive right now but they are fine and work well with the layered fruit. Really good depth. Give it time!

Marmalade, orange, lemon and apple. Sweet upfront before the acidity kicks in well and sweeps into a very good length finish. Nicely put together.

Tight nose with lime, sea spray and white florals. Light on its feet, with plenty of brightness to the palate. This worked really well and actually felt refreshing after quite a lot of wine - probably my favourite of the Sauternes tonight.

Apricot, honey and orange. The palate is just too sweet, suffering from not having enough spark or depth to compensate.

Lemon, slate and apple. The palate is well balanced, nothing sticks out particularly here. Medium-good length.

Apple and pear on the nose. The palate is fairly mild, holding its sweetness well. More layers and depth would take this to the next level, but it was quite nice as it was.

Apricot and lemon aromas. The palate is quite sweet, but it persists for longer than I'd otherwise expect, there is a sneaky acid line that kicks in just in time to carry it through.

Almond, orange and some funky earth notes. The sweetness is too punchy for my taste at the moment, it doesn't have the cut to give it focus.

Apple and slate. Very little depth on the palate, though it feels reasonably well balanced. Decent enough.

Pear, orange and lemon. Like the balance here, the acidity works well to cleanse the palate. Has potential.

Lighter nose with some herb and lemon notes. There is some decent brightness on the palate, with medium length and well controlled sweetness. Seems quite nice.

Coconut and lemon meringue. The palate has a bit of a problem with the acidity and sweetness not feeling integrated just yet. It may come with time but I'm not sure if it will.
