Very impressive. Lovely nose and pure, precise notes on the palate. Cassis, strawberry, some oak, stone. Excellent structure and balance.
Already showing complexity and will clearly age and mature very well.
One of the highlights of the tasting, and it is so exciting to see Brane-Cantenac reaching its potential as a classified Second Growth property.
Scored because it is already so impressive and has potential to get even better. Anticipated range 93-96.

Very impressive. Excellent balance with a touch of bright acidity, adding real vibrancy.
Deep and precise. Already beginning to show off a complex structure. Notes of cassis and dark cherry and a lovely struck flint tertiary note underpinning the fruit.
This needs time for sure, and I imagine there will be a wealth of complexity, layers and many different notes to enjoy when this is fully mature.
The highlight of the UGC tasting for me; having never had an excellent Lynch-Bages before but having been told that it really performs well in excellent vintages, this was a treat.
Scored because it is already so impressive and will almost certainly improve with age. Anticipated range 94-97.

Very nice. Deep darker fruits of cassis, plum and blueberries along with a really lovely sweeter oak/cedar woody note. Touch of cigar box too. One I absolutely hope I can revisit when fully matured.

Very nice. Honey, creme brulee, pineapple and dried apricots. Touch of lemon acidity giving good balance. Has a nice warmth to it. Complex and sophisticated with a long finish.

Bigger than Les Carmes Haut-Brion, with lovely tannic structure. Concentrated red and purple fruit with a smokey earthiness. Vibrant acidity.
Needs years longer to mature and properly open up but excellent potential. Rated as it is already showing well. Anticipated range 92-95.

Some real sophistication and quality on display here. Tropical fruits including pineapple and coconut. Cream hints and a touch of lemon and lime acidity - very well balanced and fresh.
To my mind sits somewhere between Domaine de Chevalier Blanc and Aile d'Argent in terms of how tropical this is!

Rounded and balanced with dark fruits, tobacco and earthiness. Surprisingly few tannins. Overall felt a little bit soft and missing a kick which was a disappointment. One to taste again when the wine has had longer to mature.

2019 Château Smith Haut Lafitte

A real disappointment for me, particularly compared to the excellent blanc. Rather bitter and out of balance. Lacking in fruit.
Clearly far too young to score but a range of 87-90 based on this bottle alone. I hope it improves with age!

Unfortunately a very poor showing at this tasting. Very hot, alcoholic. NOse almost Rhône like, and palate lacking balance.
I hope this is an off bottle otherwise my anticipated range would be something like 85-88.
