This wine is a monster in the most flattering sense! At the age of 10, it exudes tremendous poise and boasts a rock-solid structure. Its fading color should not deceive you; this intrinsic Nuits Saint Georges has a brave future ahead. I once stood in the cellars of Domaine Chevillon, savoring samples of an another vintage, and this wine transports me back to those caves with the swoosh of a magic wand. In unforeseen time, it might stand among the best modern Burgundies ever crafted. I sincerely hope to live long enough to express, with decades of enthusiasm held back, 'Oh, how lovely!

The wine is marked by its class, elegance, and unmistakable sense of place, yet it falls short of expectations once again for me. Somewhat thin, lacking the concentration that's often abundant in wines of this caliber (2005 Epenots comes to mind). Maybe my disappointment stems from the high expectations set by the BH's 93-point rating. ¯ \_(ツ)_/¯ Lovely, nevertheless

nourished for about 8 hours - this wine started of a funky, weird and not so enjoyable, but finished strong - a classy Gevrey Chambertin. Soft textured and typical, this was one lovely experience.

Clearly in its holding period, it's way too young for me to judge this wine properly - hence the missing numerical score. Tasted over 4 days, I'm excited to see what develops here in the years to come. On days 1 and 2, this wine really didn't offer much. It seemed invigorating over all, with only the nose suggesting a high-class personality. By day 3, there were hints of mid-palate goodness, but it took a full 4 days of nurturing to witness the wine blossoming into a softer and more approachable Pinot. Definitely not your typical Central Coast 'fatty', the intent is clear - this wine is destined for a great future. Lovely!

Discovered a compromised cork - soaked all the way through, revealing some seepage. Been there, done that! As I like to say, "when the wine is good, it's good!" The seepage didn't hurt the wine a bit; perhaps it even accelerated the aging process ¯ \_(ツ)_/¯ ? This is a magical Pommard, boasting tons of complexity and enticing elegance. Magical and super lovely.

Impeccable is the first word that came to mind when I tasted this wine. Perfect balance, great concentration, lush elegance, good complexity, and a promising future - these are its hallmarks. While it is approachable right now, it wouldn't surprise me if it shuts down for a few years. Very lovely.

Another only okay showing for this wine that I had high hopes for. Is it fully matured? It appears very dry and seems to be losing the fruit component, with concentration appearing to recede. Still lovely.

The 2005 Château Bellefont-Belcier is simply gorgeous! Two hours of decanting allow this full-bodied Saint-Émilion to showcase elegance, poise, and an endless array of flavors. It stands as a striking example of a wine getting better with age, evolving into a timeless classic. The dusty finish, coupled with an obvious potential for improvement, only adds to its appeal. Supper lovely!

Judging by the few wines I tasted, the 2020 seems like an excellent vintage, and La Louvière is no exception. Soft and lush, showing an abundance of all the 'good Pessac stuff,' this is ready to enjoy with only a short decant. Quite lovely

Excellent Burgundy! It required some time to fully bloom. While still relatively youthful, it has now entered its prime drinking stage, revealing a wealth of complexity, elegance, and poise. Very lovely

This Nuits Saint George has aged into an absolute stunner! At the ripe age of 30, this gem defies time, showing no signs of decline whatsoever. Right from the start, it unveils an explosive bouquet that practically glues your nose to the glass for the entire evening. This wine boasts a medium build with a complexity that will leave you staggered, and its elegance is simply stunning. The color has gracefully transitioned to a rich, golden brown, while the palate dances on, long and pure. With every sip, I couldn't help but feel fortunate and privileged. Supper-Duper Lovely!

Frederick Esmonin delivers again with an outstanding wine from exceptional terroir that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg! While this stunning wine is reaching its plateau, it delivers on all fronts, but its complexity is off the charts. An elegant bouquet of white flowers and violets is followed by a mid-weight palate with a silky-smooth mouthfeel and a clean finish with that begs for more. Decant it for at least 2 hours prior to enjoying it. Super lovely!

Wow, what a delightful surprise! This 2005 Clos les Lunelles has seriously improved since my last taste in 2021. It has an amazing, intense concentration and a gorgeous deep black-red color. The structure is commendable, and the finish is never-ending, leaving you craving more. I don't believe this wine has reached its peak yet, so there's no rush. Kudos to the overachiever winemaker for this impressive gem! Quite lovely!

The bouquet of pencil shavings, barnyard, and brown leather leaves no doubt about its origin, inviting you to savor this elegant 45-year-old Bordeaux. Stunning effort! This wine is very young at this point, however one can tell it is special. Elegant, complex and wonderfully ethereal, this shows dusty tannins and lingering potential. On day two, the wine started to close even further than I found it on day one, so patience will be required. But when this beauty is ready - hold on to your hats...! Especially lovely!

Stunning showing for this Pomerol. Very 'pretty' wine right from the start. 30 min. in decanter, but I don't think it needed it, this opens with sexy elegance and supper likable personality. It's the kind of wine you don't want to let go off. Gorgeous nose, wonderful mouthfeel and long, clean finish. The question is - is it gonna shut down ¯ \_(ツ)_/¯ Super lovely!

What a transformation this wine made in 10 years. Back then this was loaded, massive and insanely concentrated wine, fat and voluptuous. Now, it is till full body wine, but much more reserved and quite dry. It slimmed down and lost a bit of its youthful appeal. This will be interesting to further follow up. The best might yet to come.

Absolutely spectacular on day two. Classically, I wish I left more than 2 glasses. The level of complexity, the profound concentration and elegance, softness of the palate, the length - all that is just dreamy. So why 99pts. and not 100? ha! I know, but a guy can dream, right? Undoubtedly an excellent Pauillac in the making. At this point the wine is not open for business. It took 3 days of 'nurturing' to get to the point where it could be enjoyed at all and yet, it is clear that this is going to be a magnificent wine one day. I am blown away by the level of complexity and charm as well as the wine's poise and trueness to the terroir. Simply lovely

This truly is an outstanding Monbo. 2005 offers more than usual dose of elegance and complexity. The nose is intoxicating and the palate delivers ton of pleasure. This is medium bodied and light of its feet. Super duper lovely!
