5/16/23, 8:47 AM - Decanting Queen, I would say yes. definitely, try one young. If you really like the typical Cayuse style funk, this has it times 2! There was no "green" (too young) in the wine and I feel it is approachable but for some, the high funk can be a turnoff. If so, wait. Anytime I get 6 bottles of a wine I like to drink 1 early so I can set me expectations for drinking them going forward and when to start that process. I hope this helps. Salud!
12/1/22, 11:42 AM - Didn't realize I did that. I have made the change. Thanks for catching this.
1/4/22, 6:33 PM - You are welcome. This is a really top notch wine. Has lots of time in the bottle but I am finding they are much more interesting a bit young than waiting 10+ years.
4/8/21, 9:08 AM - Looks like you have been in Delmas from the 2016 vintage. I admire that you have not opened at least 1 of these bottles to try them young. I usually do so that I can see what their longtime potential is. I think Delmas is a diamond mostly unfounded so far. Salud!
1/12/20, 11:33 AM - As I review my notes now, yes this part was a mistake. It is over 6 months ago so I don't remember much else at this point. Probably mixed up with other bottles during that week. Thanks for pointing this out.
8/8/19, 10:12 AM - I think more time will help the wine continue to mature. The wow I look for in Cab's is either there or it isn't (for me). This is a really good wine and should cellar for many years if you can wait. I have 2 more bottles and won't open the next one for 3 - 5 years.
6/14/19, 11:02 AM - mathwonk, I haven't been out to taste in a while. I believe Isabelle is still there but I don't know who makes the big decisions.
9/23/17, 1:43 PM - Your going to love Drew’s cabs. I got in on the first release and have been going strong since. In my opinion, one of the best Walla Walla has to offer. Enjoy. I look forward to your reviews.
7/25/17, 6:45 PM - AGELVIS, yes Doubleback is a Walla Walla winery. It is owned by Drew Bledsoe, the former WSU and New England Patriot QB. His cabs are pricey ($100) but well worth it in my opinion. We really enjoy the wines. Try some if you can.
3/9/15, 7:38 PM - You do know that Kosta Browne is a California Russian River/Sonoma Coast Pinot, right. Definitely not an Oregon Pinot. KB has won wine of the year on 2 occasions and IMHO can compete with some of the best Cabs in the world.Really glad you enjoyed it.
3/9/15, 8:07 PM - Excellent. I read it wrong. You are correct on the difference. Try some Williams Selyem or Sea Smoke some time to compare with the KB. As for some different Oregon Pinot's, if you happen to come along some Bethel Heights or Cristom (Eola Hills area near Salem), they are much earthier and closer to the Cali's. Enjoy!
9/3/13, 8:16 AM - That is wine is different for everyone. I stand by my post about this wine. You are also entitled to your opinion.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
