Just wonderful. Wine was singing out of bottle. Almost burgh profile with herbal notes, sweet tobacco, fig and raisins.

Should've hung on to it for another 3 years, but wonderful CDP as it opened up.

Very nice CDP. muted inky hue with a classic CDP nose. graphite, tobbacco and earth/spices dominate with a nice lingering finish. Hasn't quite come together to wow, but a very nice bottle.

fantastic, elegant chardonnay - paired beautifully with a summer clambake. Great balance, which allowed fruit notes and secondary dimensions to shine without being over-oaked. great finish.

what a birthday treat. Always amazing bottle (though not as good as the '85). opaque brownish color. Barnyard floor/peat moss notes dominate the nose and the palate with hints of balsamic, and leather/gamey meats and earthy undertones just demands attention. Lovely.

Really interesting. the bouquet almost reminds you of an "old fashioned" (as does the color coincidentally). Cantaloupe and tart orange (almost like orange zest) and sweet red cherries flourish on the nose and the first taste. by mid-palate, it turns into earth/minerals and the mellows out with the melon/cantaloupe sweet residue on the finish.

Definitely worth having a few more. I haven't tried it with food yet, but I bet it will be killer with certain mussels/clams or seafood dishes.

Always love this wine and although I drink this young unlike his others, this felt too young to me still. After funk blew off, it revealed the same minerals and characteristics I love, but will wait a year for rest. Unlike many other rose.

Still a lot of life left in this puppy. Decanted for an hour and slowly evolved in the glass over the next 3. No sediment with only a slight tawney on the edges. Forest floor on the nose with mushrooms. Red fruit and some spice on the palate; very well integrated and soft tannins, but a great finish.
