Revenge! Decided to open another bottle this week after last weeks flawed one. This one was very nice; deep blueberry fruit, citrusy tartness and a smooth finish. There's a spicy layer that I find difficult to pin but I do get some evergreen tree vibes.

Heat damage or just oxidized? Don't know. Lots of sediment in bottle leaving the wine opaque and the walls of the glass and decanter dirty.

Perfumed and full of cherries. Fresh and well built with a stingy attack and more rounded mature finish.

Great nose with juicy red forest fruits and some faint herbs. It is deep and complex on the palate with more red fruit, earthy notes and a herbal note with some sharpness, almost like mint, but not really. Some white pepper in there as well. Pretty fruity finish.

Fruit forward with cherries in the lead, dark plums, a hint of tar or smoked meat even.

There's a wonderful complexity here - cherry, wood and a bunch of herbs. On the palate it's very dry with a nice bite from the tannins. I get more wood and grass than fruit and the acidity also hides the fruit a bit. This is a smashing wine!

Earth, plum and iron on the nose. Very smooth tannins and still freshly acidic. The wine is dry and when opened there was a lot of tar and burned wood on the palate. A few hours later the tar is almost gone and day two all the chalk and smoke is gone. Very interesting experience.

Smoky salami, fennel and wood on the nose. Fresh red fruit on the palate with a fairly complex finish.

Wonderful fruit and floral/herbal notes. Drank this over three days with consistent flavors. Great wine!

Considerable improvement over last tasting. Decidedly more mature but the acidity is unchanged. Lots of delicious apples here now.

Passion fruit bomb! Super refreshing and with a surprisingly full body for the type.

Nice concentrated fruit. Plum, prunes and a bit of licorice. Round tannins, high acidity and a chocolaty bitterness in the finish. Very nice!

Plums, prunes, smoked meat. Very concentrated. Just as rich on the palate. Lots of jammy fruit, high acidity. Pretty straightforward at this point. I remember the wine as being more elegant but it is still very good.

Not as refined as last time I had it. Felt dull and dusty. Still has a nice herbal profile. Could have peaked perhaps?

Herbs, licorice and thinner (!) on the nose. The palate has a medium body, dryish tannins and some licorice in the finish. Had hoped for more fruit and a different texture. Past prime already?

This wine needed a lot of time to open up so decant if you can. At least if you're drinking it young. Nose has dark fruit and savory licorice notes. Some herbs too maybe? Pretty complex on the palate. Plenty of acidity and definetely some tannins of the gentler (but not weak) sort. A bit on the dry side and I'm wondering about the fruit. Is it black currant I get? The finish is nice and balanced and licorice flavored.

Needs time to open up. Red fruit and concentrated floral aromas on the nose. Concentrated flavors as well and dry, forceful tannins. The finish is nice and I get faint citrus notes at the end.

Cherries on top but there's a lot of depth here. I get sweet licorice, herbs and bilberry too. Medium bodied with pretty hefty acidity and some coarse tannins but it's still very drinkable. Maybe better with food while young but it's going to be interesting to see how it develops.

A basket of red and blue fruit mixed with some rosemary. A whirl brings more fruit and a bit of fruit punch. The herbs are more noticeable in the mouth. The wine is full bodied with medium tannins and a bit of alcohol in the finish.

Concentrated but not as full as I had expected. Lots of leather, tobacco and herbs on the nose. On the palate it is rich and fruity with freshening acidity and dryish tannins. The herbs dominates the finish.

Red fruit and a bit of flowers and granite. Super fresh! Structured and tight. Acidity and minerality, barely ripe red currant with sufficient depth and body to keep it balanced. This is great!

My oh my, I love this nose! Fresh green apples, gravel after a spring shower with hints of smoke. Equally fresh on the palate with lots of fruit and an acidity that curls my tongue without losing its balance. Decent finish that is a bit green. I love these rieslings obviously but this one is better than many, still good, competitors.

Decanted for just over one hour. White pepper, herbs (tarragon? bay leaves?), cherry and red currant on the nose. Hints of tobacco as well. Very pleasant and feels open and inviting. High acidity and well defined tannins. A bit of dryish grit texture-wise but full of flavor and balances well. The fruit tastes like a mix of cherry, red currant and strawberry. Will be nice to see where this goes.

Lots of dark and red fruit, herbs and some oak. Some cherry that lingers in the aftertaste. Would not mind having this again.
