Dark red. Delicious fruit and great balance. Soft cherry with dark pit fruit up front followed by nice spices with long finish. Tannins are spot on. Velvety smooth. Superb!

Pleasantly surprised at how well this works né is drinking after additional cellar again.

Dark burgundy color. Blue berry, plum, cherry, hints of cedar and strawberry, and earth on the nose. Well balanced and silky with soft to medium tannins. Cherry, plum, black currant, and cedar with an earthiness on the palate. Nice acidity, especially on the very long finish. Really opened up after 45 minutes in the glass. This can likely go a few years in the cellar. 89-90.

Lovely, medium-dark rosé color. Rose petals on the nose. Dry. Good balance and fruit. A little tartness a the sip, but smooth clean, and medium to long finish. Nicely made.

An interesting wine. A Pinot that is more like a Cabernet than a Pinot. Chewy tannins, and tobacco with white chocolate up front and Pinot and some acidity hiding underneath. A good Pinot for Cabernet Sauvignon lovers, less so for the low alcohol Pinot aficionado in pursuit of balance. Long finish.

This bottle was lost in the cellar along with a few others. The wine appears to have slowly oxidized over time and taken on a port like quality. Definitely no significant vinegar overtones on the nose or palate. To my amazement, it is drinkable to a certain extent with just the slightest hint that something stopped the vinegar process. Not great any more as it was back in the mid to late 1980s, but not bad either and a testament to how well Bill Jekel and his team made wine from the 1983 vintage.

Bing cherry, plum/prune, soft tobacco, tar, well balanced, integrated medium tannins, medium to long finish with tart cherry, tar and dark berry overtones. Cellaring very well and improving with age.

This is a very nice and well crafted Sangiovese. Deep red color. Roses, chocolate, dark berries, earthy minerals, tar/tobacco, well balanced, and on the mark tannins. Medium to long finish. Delicious! Wish is had a few more bottles. Drinking very well right now after proper cellaring.
