found this in the back of the cellar. half were premoxed and the other half were amazing. this can pass as chablis and it's a beautiful wine. too bad half the bottles were brown, oxidized and undrinkable.

Cheerful light white that has acid, slight sweetness and something like sauv Blanc or Riesling. No persistence on the palate, but not offensive either. First Czech wine for me

If that's the "best wine in Tunisia", I might need to look at other regions. Anyone know a good producer in Burgundy?

Nice floral nose. All citric energy, but hollow in the middle. Not very good as there is nothing to balance the acid and I love acid. Maybe the 2nd half will put on weight

Found 3 in the back of the cellar. 2 were oxidized, but the 3rd was fantastic. It opened over an hour. Hay, lemon, and musk with enough acidity to balance the volume on the back end. Such a different wine than it was upon release. I'll trade primary fruit for complexity any day.

I guess I'm more sensitive to oak than other tasters. This is just WRONG. Chateauneuf does not need the oak. It imparts a flavor profile that makes it anonymous, like a modern Brunello. The wine, which should be great, is ruined in my opinion by the oak. Remaining bottles stored since release will go to the auction house. Too bad.

Fresh and tasty. vibrant, light yellow with crisp lemon curd and an interesting streak of mineral / herbal '04. long finish and a complete package that tastes great today, but is young.

beautiful ripe year white burg. white flowers, some juicy fruit, more pears. oak is spicy, but integrated. medium bodied with lots of mineral spine. very nice now, but should improve

Wow. This is where over-the-top CdP goes to die. Cough syrup and Everclear. It was definitely intense, but not in a good way. I'm wishing the plastic surgeons never showed up to 'fix' Chateauneuf. This was my last Chapoutier, as I had already sold the rest. Not my style.

brown, cloudy, and undrinkable. given chave's ability age and the old seepage seen at the top of the cork, i'll assume this was a bad bottle.

lovely stuff. not as grapey as most young beau. lots going on here and should get better, but enjoyable now

Decanted 4 hrs. Georgeous floral and red fruit nose. I just kept going back. Medium-bodied with raspberry fruit and spine. Ripe year, but not overblown. Has acid and tannin to make this better in 5 yrs, but, quite enjoyable tonight.

Father's Day - It's been a couple of years since my last bottle. Immortal wine! The nose is dark with leather, spice, and black fruits. There is a sweet topnote that momentarily breaks the darkness. The palate is dense with layers and layers of endless flavors: meat, black cherry, and leather. The spine is quite evident and tannins still present. Son of '61 in time

Wow, a non-spoofed Chateauneuf. It was reassuring to find a wine that confident enough to avoid the high octane, plastic surgery mindset that has taken over the Rhone. Lovely nose of red fruit, herbs, and a bit of leather. complex on the palate due to the balance of so many flavors. Long finish that sends you back for another sip. lovely.

Not as expressive as expected. Giacosa is my fav producer, but this bottle just seemed mute. Not flawed, but just didn't open up with the expected fireworks. Clearly from a hot vintage, but not soupy or lacking in structure. Just beginning to test some 97s

bright lemon on the nose with crystalized lemon and a huge mineral streak. The nose has green fruit, sea scents, and rocks and the palate reinforces these attributes. The minerals are still a bit sharp and linear. I expect it to fill out with time. Very nice. I'm having a hard time keeping my hands off these

bottle stink upon opening (replacement for bad bottle). nose opened over an hour and palate gained weight fairly quickly.

This chablis has it all. nose has lemon curd, limes, and honey. Palate is wide and deep with a very long aftertaste. Some honeycomb on the finish, but this screams chablis through minerals and iodine. quite enjoyable

dinosaur blood. a complete freak of nature. the alcohol covers up the RS, but nothing could prepare you for the power of this wine. The cavalcade of flavors is amazing and the depth and length are astounding. it's not wine, it's dinosaur blood.

ah! expressive nose of flowers and cherries, pure red fruit on the palate. very crystalline flavors. still primary, but just beginning to hint at the complexity living below the fruit. fine tannins provide spine that will support aging, but this is lovely now.

some SO2 to start, but blew off over an hour. flowers and smoke on the nose with a taut mid-palate that was linear and more reserved than expected. long finish. Should add richness as it ages.

I should play the lottery today. I've had 2 of these in a row that are perfect. Essence of honeysuckle and minerals. This would go musky/ funky a la Niellon if it reached 15 years, but that won't happen with mine. Rich, dense, and beautiful. 2 of 5 is still a shame, but I am at least glad that some of this wonderful juice wasn't spoiled.

Wow! first of 4 that wasn't oxidized. Beautiful meursault. Lemon curd, hazelnut, and honeysuckle nose. Dense palate that just keeps expanding with air. Citric with some peach and a great spine of minerals. That wonderful taste lasts long enough to almost forget the first 3 bottles poured down the drain.

killed a baby tonight. That is the thing you do after having bottles that were advanced. This one was YOUNG. Smokey oak on the nose that moving toward menthol. crystaline citrus, lemon curd, and minerals on the palate with a long finish. the wine gains weight in the glass. This bottle would have been great in 5 more years. Good tonight, but the track record of this domaine does not merit my patience.
