80% Semillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, not everybody's friend seems to develop every day in a positive way. Just after opening it's closed, tight bit akward (90) but after day 2 it has a lovely purity, tropical fruit, wax, fresh herbal note and elegant spiciness. (94)

From a small vineyard just a couple kilometres from where I live you find De Koen. From an area (2metres below sea level) which you normally won't expect vineyards. This late harvest Muscaris was such a surprise. No funky hybrid notes but clean, pure and refined. Lovely sweet tropical fruit, very floral, nicely balanced and a great finish. Hats off to this winemaker because this shows when you have your stuff right in the vineyard and work clean you can still produce some delicious wines.

Tasted blind. Bit developing, orange rim, lovely nose, very ripe dark and red fruit, sweet baking spice, dusty mineral core, silky texture, nice tertiary aroma's, hint of leather, black tea, sandal wood. Good freshness, great balance, 14,9 abv perfectly integrated. Didn't expect this for a 15 yr old grenache from Barossa but this is just utterly delicious.

From Magnum, coravin. Reductive at first, whif of sulphur. After aerating, very open, rich, lovely purity of tropical fruit, more tart citrus towards finish, hint of tertiary aroma's, petrol, spice, still very youthfull, lovely balance, minerality comes up during finish, salty, slate, a baby, will show it's full potential in 5-10 years. Glad I have some mags and bottles left.

Decanted for 2 hours, extremely seductive, lovely aroma's, everything is perfectly balanced, extremely ripe fruit but without being sweet, violets, excellent oak, truffle, cigarbox, iron, pencillead, so much energy! Palate is rich and opulent but with a massive structure underneath, precise, there is so much to discover and the finish just goes on and on. With time from 2025 this will be a perfect wine, with a perfect score, hopefully I get another chance to try it.

Deep color but still bright, very open, ripe yellow apple, pine apple, caramel, baking spice, hint toast, nuts. Palate seems frozen in time, round, delicate and ripe. Structure is amazing, no hint of extreme oxidation, reminds bit like old tondonia's, very long finish with good freshness.

Gorgeous, made old skool style, used old oak, concrete fermentation, pure fruit, lifted, dried cherries, rosehip, lovely herbal note, intense dried spicyness. Intense palate, dried but definitely ripe, cherries, raspberry's, elegant floralty, rose, herbal, hint of tar, baking spice. Yes massive structure and acid but all very much at right place. Great balance. If this is just it's entry level Barolo I'm wondering how Garblet Sue / Villero or Ca'mia would taste...
