5/3/24, 8:04 PM - Thanks for the note. Henderson probably has better weather than STL lol.
1/11/24, 6:56 AM - @mapkos123 I set it upright and opened it about 2 hours before we were gonna drink it. Poured carefully from a wine basket to avoid sediment. No decant and I rarely decant old wines but this one was so young it would be interesting to decant and see how it expresses itself with more air.
12/14/23, 11:16 AM - On that bottle I didn’t. I’m usually an “open two hours before” guy, let it sit, then pour. I don’t decant too often unless the wine is so huge (young Cali cab, Barolo, Tempranillo) that you don’t have a choice.
12/11/22, 5:46 AM - The whole post was tongue in cheek. But I meant to score it actually in the 97 range so thanks for pointing that out. it’s a such a great great wine, that I have drunk a few times, I didn’t want to detract from its average CT score
10/31/23, 1:22 PM - Thanks @bordeauxone. Yea I have them but unfortunately on this day I didn’t take one with me /(
11/9/23, 6:54 AM - Thanks @onlydrinkthegoodstuff. I have all the proper bags and carriers sometimes I’m just in a hurry and don’t grab them 😂
10/7/23, 4:51 AM - Thanks for the note. I was reading some of your notes and they are well done. I do get up to Minne and Same to you if come back to STL
10/2/23, 7:44 PM - I had it tonight with a Turkey meat Ragu over spaghetti squash and it was good with that too. Almost Italian quality in pairing with tomatoes
7/29/23, 6:21 AM - That’s awesome!!
11/13/22, 8:37 PM - Great note. The wine will be great but it’s a little muted now. That said I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it tonight
11/13/22, 8:36 PM - Great note
10/27/20, 6:21 PM - Sounds like a bug in CT.
2/9/22, 8:30 AM - Scoring algorithm having a major hiccup. LOL. Your note made me laugh @sfwinelover1
8/2/22, 2:50 PM - Hey Doug! I hope it is as good as when I had it. It’s so big (yet smooth) don’t see it going downhill for awhile. Are you going to burgundy in October ?
8/18/21, 9:08 PM - I would think so and agree. But I haven’t had any lately. The ‘13 is really great too
2/7/21, 9:15 AM - I didn’t decant that bottle. Just let it sit on glass for 15 minutes or so but I do believe an hour or so decant would really make it pop
11/1/20, 6:16 PM - I like your content /style. Very thorough
10/28/20, 4:21 AM - I was reading some of your notes. They are awesome! Glad to connect with you on CT. You’re in England? Drinking a lot of California for a Brit..hahaCheers
10/28/20, 4:16 AM - 98 high end pomerol. ‘Nuff said. Great note
10/27/20, 6:24 PM - I’m bad about checking comments. Sorry I didn’t reply a couple years ago. I did not decent the bottle FYI. I have an idiot savant memory about that kind of stuff
10/27/20, 6:23 PM - Thanks. They are getting traction!
6/14/19, 3:22 PM - Spot on
2/2/17, 4:50 PM - Found your story. Thanks. I've tasted several of these. You are a prolific writer. I love it. I've probably tasted 1500 different wines since I joined but only had discipline to write 186 (albeit detailed) notes. Do you know Phillip buholzer from the old Swiss house in Lucerne. ? He has some of perfect provenance Bordeaux from the 40's, 50's 60's etc.
2/1/17, 8:52 PM - What was number 1?
1/7/17, 7:43 AM - Interesting note. Thank you
1/7/17, 7:42 AM - Good note
1/7/17, 7:42 AM - Dead on
5/15/16, 6:50 AM - Thanks @popularcar. I'm not sure how that happened but i fixed this one and the 1998 Altamura.
11/5/14, 12:43 PM - @bill Johnson I just posted my note on this wine today and I think I said"almost perfect" our notes were very similar. Cheers
8/26/14, 7:18 PM - info for WMWG - "(the fruit for this comes 70% from Puligny and 30% from Meursault; Les Setilles is a brand name and not that of a lieu-dit; 50% older wood). An expressive nose of ripe yellow orchard fruit leads to succulent and very round flavors that possess a generous mouth feel. The finish is reasonably vibrant and overall this is a delicious wine meant for immediate consumption." (06/13) - 86 Pts Allen Meadows - Burghound
5/17/14, 7:14 PM - Harley1199 2008 next 2003. I'm hunting for value
