Sojourn never disappoints. A great wine, even at this young age.

This wine came across very much like a really good California pinot noir. The first thing I noticed was the very light color. I could see my fingers through a "full pour" glass. The nose was perfumed, much like a Cali pinot. On the palate, it smacked of pinot noir. Each time I smelled and tasted the wine, I honestly thought I was drinking a Sojourn Sonoma Coast or a Joseph Phelps Freestone. Not what I expected from a CdP.

I've been drinking Vieux Telegraphe for years, and I don't recall the wine being like this previously. I really enjoyed the '15, but it came as a surprise compared to what I've had in the past.

Whoa. This bottle was a pleasant surprise. Lush flavors with great fruit and a tinge of acid. Really nice bottle of wine.

Unfortunately this wine probably should have been opened about 3 years ago. I'm thinking this wine should be drunk young. This bottle wasn't very good.

If you're thinking about opening this wine today, don't. But if you do, give it AT LEAST a 3-4 hour decant. Otherwise, don't even look at this bottle until 2027. The wine is tight and a bit tannic, something I think would best corrected by being patient. I didn't find this wine to be especially rounded and it lacked polish. Especially disappointing given I paid about $70 USD at K&L Wine Merchants for this wine. Given my experience so far, it should have cost closer to $40. There's still some wine left in the bottle and if day 2 proves to be better, I'll post an update.

24 years after the ‘97 vintage and this bottle was pretty darn good. Granted it was a magnum which preserved the wine longer than a 750ml bottle would. It had a great, classic Napa cab nose and flavor. Definitely had some musty age on it (which I like) but was otherwise a very enjoyable wine. Wish I had one more magnum to spare!

Good wine that's definitely showing its age. I would recommend drinking it now if you have some. Lots of funk on the nose and the palate - again, showing its age. Color is showing a bit of rust color.

Yum! But if you have a bottle, I'd recommend drinking it soon. The tannins are just about gone and all that's left is smooth fruit, but sliding away from being a great wine.

This is a good bottle of wine. Very smooth and easy drinking. About 30 minutes after pulling the cork out, it became a great wine. I wouldn't say it was profound or life altering, but I would buy this wine again for the right price.

Three days after opening this bottle and it's better than when I opened it. I'd suggest a LONG decant before taking a sip (maybe not three days...). I initially didn't love this wine and expected more from Araujo but now that the wine has had some time to mellow out, it's great. I get some barnyard / aged funk to it which is really nice. Drink up!

Mineral and dry. Seems like it has lots of oak. Nice nose. Probably will try other wines before buying this wine again.

Great bottle, easy drinking. Took a few minutes of airtime to open up, but when it did it was worth it. Would definitely buy from this producer again.

Not as good as I remember. This bottle was purchased "used" so it may have not been stored as well as it should have been. I found it to be excessively sweet, much more so than the last time I had this wine.

Day 2 and it's clear this bottle was flawed/corked. Dumped the rest and will hope for the best when I open my next bottle.

I love CellarTracker but I find the recommended "drink by" dates typically are wrong. I opened this bottle thinking it was well past it's prime - CT says 2019 was the final year for this wine. Turns out this wine has a LONG way to go before I'd consider it on a downward slide. So, that being said...

I found this wine a bit dark and sweet. It's a pretty good wine but not what I have come to expect from Ghost Block. I will continue buying their wine but this one didn't bring anything profound. Maybe after a day of air it will improve.

Day 2: Much better! I recommend giving this wine lots of air before taking a sip. This is a really good Cali Cabernet.

Really liked this wine. Best description is 'balance' and 'harmony'. The wine is in a beautiful place right now and drinking very well. Smooth and supple with some aged 'funk' to the wine. A real winner.

This bottle may have been corked. In the glass, it had a very strong scent of coffee grinds and a bit of chocolate. But not in a "this is great - it smells like coffee and chocolate!". It had more of a burned coffee grinds smell which was off-putting. I made it through one glass and will try it again tonight to see if anything changes after a day of air. I'm a big fan of Freemark Abbey so this bottle came as a surprise.

Not a bad effort. Lots of citrus, mostly lemon, and some straw notes. Its a little too tart/acidic for my tastes but I'm writing this two days after opening the bottle so it may have lost something during that time. I have one more bottle and might wait a little while before opening it up.

PNP. No discernable nose on this wine (and I'm COVID neg). A very tart wine. Not a good effort from Guigal. They can do better than this. I'll give this wine some time to breath, but not sure how much better it could get.

Yeah, this wine is about a 90 point effort. Dark and unctuous. The 08’ is in a good spot. Long finish. Some astringent feel on the tongue. Generally, I like it but not sure I would buy more.

Double decanted for about an hour before drinking. This wine is a bit disjointed. It has lots of acid intermixed with a bitter melon component. Not a lot of fruit left. The color shows some age and the nose is nice.

Wine had seeped through the cork a bit which probably explains the lack than stellar performance from this wine. I usually love Spring Mountain but this bottle didn't bring the awesomeness that it usually does. Oh well.

I've been searching high and low for a great Languedoc wine after tasting Domaine de la Grange des Pères, which I really liked. Unfortunately Chateau de la Negly didn't meet my expectations. It was tasted side-by-side with a '14 Pierre Gondon St. Joseph and the St. Joe was a much more elegant wine. Overall I found Chateau de la Negly to be an adolescent wine that was lacking polish. The nose was interesting and full of red fruit, but on the palate it's youthfulness left much to be desired. But, considering the price, I can't complain too much.

This would be a good mid-week wine but not one I would save for a special occasion.

Surprisingly good wine. I’ve had Round Pond in the past and found it to be less than impressive especially given the pro reviews. This bottle was a classic Napa cab with a decent amount of age which added a layer of smoothness to it. I bet it could easily go another 10 years, however it’s drinking well today.

Upon opening, this wine really shined. I think this bottle is in a good drinking window right now. Smooth and easy to drink. That being said, day 2 was less interesting. Seriously consider drinking your whole bottle in one day rather than stretching it across several days.

Finally opened up my last bottle of MDR. I've been putting off this day for as long as possible but CT says the "drink by" date has come and gone. Whatever... I think this wine could go another year or two.

Given that this was Burt Williams last MRD vintage (and this was my last bottle) I held out for a long as I could before opening it. The wine was a solid effort and is best characterized as a classic north coast Cali pinot noir. The nose still has lots of fruit and the overall feel was smooth and easy to drink. Lots of fruit with a tinge of acidity. I wish I had another bottle or two lying around, but c'est la vie!

Give this wine at least 30 minutes of air before drinking. It had some sharp elbows straight out of the bottle but started to shine after some time in the glass. A respectable effort from Montelena. I think it’s in a good drinking window right now.

Tasted side by side with a '10 Domaine de la Grange des Pères and the Caillou didn't hold up. Out of the bottle I got a very funky smell that suggested this bottle might have been corked. Day 2 and it's just an OK wine. I've had beeter CDP's. Too bad because I had expectations for this wine.

I really wanted to like this wine, and I wasn't disappointed! This is the first Vin de Pays de l'Hérault I've ever had and I really liked it. It had a very smooth mouthfeel and the tannins were in perfect balance. I poured the wine immediately which was a mistake - give it an hour of air before drinking. This bottle cost me just under $100 USD which is a bit expensive all things considered. But it was exciting to try a wine from a region that doesn't get much attention in the US. I will buy more of this wine.

I'm giving this wine 94 points because both my wife and I were blown away with this bottle. Classic Napa cab with just a tinge of age to it. My guess is this wine could go another 7-10 years easily. Wish I had more of the '09 vintage. Unfortunately this was my last bottle. I hope later vintages are as good as this one.

Not a bad effort, even 20 years later. The wine is mellowing out considerably since opening it up about 30 minutes ago. The nose is subtle but beautiful - classic aged Napa cab. I get a very smooth mouthfeel along with a little tannin. There are some leather notes on the mid palate along with some residual fruit. CT says this vintage expired a few years ago but I think it still has some legs. But maybe no later than 2023?

I opened this bottle tonight because CT says the drinking window ended in 2018. Clearly this is not the case. This wine can go at least at least 5 more years. I agree with others that this wine is a bit of a fruit bomb. But the nose is traditional NorCal Pinot Noir. Not the worst, but I've had better wines from Sojourn (and I love Sojourn wines!).

It killed me to open this bottle tonight, but CT says it's drinking window has come and gone. I don't think 2018 was the end date, but I would say that this wine has about 1 more year left.

The previous bottles of '01 Cuvee Felix had a more pronounced nose. This one was muted and a bit faded. The wine itself still retained the barnyard funk that I love, but again it lacks the intensity I remember from previous bottles. I don't know what's going on with Bois de Boursan these days, but they sure made some great wines in the early 00's.

I'm giving this wine 92 points because it was such a pleasant surprise. Not having had a bottle of Unti for a long time, I popped and poured and was impressed with the smooth, silky texture of this wine. IMO it had excellent balance - a good combination of tannins, acid and fruit. A great mid-week wine when you want some easy drinking and don't want to break the bank.

Agree with others that there wasn't much fruit here to make this wine interesting. I don't think it's necessarily past it's drinking window, but it just wasn't very inspiring. I've had better bottles from Chappellet so this one was a little disappointing.

Twenty years on and this wine is still performing pretty well. I don't know where my bottle came from, but I've had it for a while in my cellar. CellarTracker says this wine has a 2014 end date, but I disagree. This wine could go a few more years. The nose didn't offer up much, but the palate was smooth with some fruit. In other words, a typical Cali Cabernet. All things considered, not a bad showing from this wine.

Day 2 and this wine is improving. The color doesn’t show much age but the wine tastes a bit ‘funky’ like a wine with some years behind it. I like it.

This wine comes across attractive and fruity on the nose, what I would call a traditional Napa cab scent. Very little to no tannins left - I got no bitterness, dryness or astringent components whatsoever. The mouthfeel is smooth and supple. CT has a 2015 end date for this wine. Clearly the wine has lasted longer than that, but I think by 2022 this wine will be toast.

This bottle was purchased at the winery in 2016 for $100 and was stored in a temperature controlled unit (my cellar) for the duration. For that amount, I would expect a lot more. This is a good wine, but is characteristic of many Napa wines that are overpriced for what you get.
