I had high expectation about this one so I was quite disappointed. It is still good but not that good. I agree with one review with tertiary flavors.

This is past its prime. Whiff of sweet fruits initially then overwhelming soy sauce aroma. Tart red fruits with soft tannins but with somewhat barnyard “effect” on the palate.

Dark purple in color. Sweet ripe freshly crushed black fruits and hint of dust on the nose. Soft tannins coating the palate with Blackberries, cherries and dark cocoa/mocha. Acidity and fruits in balance while the dark cocoa/mocha lingers. Really good! I will buy this again.

I was not optimistic about this wine when I opened it. I initially thought it was going to be way past its prime. Acidity was up there initially and subsided after an hour. Day 2 presented a very different wine! Velvety, dark fruits and a hedonistic pleasure...

I agree on the most part with Tannic Monster but I didn't get that high alcohol edge. I got dark fruits and prune juice. This is an excellent wine right now at its peak. Drink up!

I agree that this one is past its prime but it just started going downhill. Aromas of dark fruits, primarily cherries. Velvety in texture with a touch of residual sweetness. Still very good!

This is a crowd-pleaser. On the onset, newly crushed red berries and cherries exploded from the glass. Deep purple color. It has soft tannin, ripe acid and spicy finish. Enjoyable now.

I love this one. Straw golden color with initial smoke and then fruits - pear, peach, quince and pineapple. The missus loved it even better. I need to get some bottles.

Color is opaque, very dark purple with brownish orange on the edge. Aroma is a little muted but I still detect dark fruits, primarily cherries and black currant. There's some pencil shavings as well. Entry is lush with flavors of sour cherries, graphite, coffee and oak. Style is no doubt Old World and probably better with a nice slice of steak! Maybe I had very high expectation with this wine. It is well made but I expect more!

Wow, the wine changed after two nights! This is really excellent right now. There is a very much welcomed appearance of sweetness, whereas none two nights ago. The sweetness balanced everything...bumping my score and will wait for a year or two for my other bottle. Decant if you decide to pop the cork right now..

Dark purple color almost opaque. Aromas of sweet ripe dark cherries, strawberry liqueur and milk chocolate. Medium-heavy with flavors of smooth dark chocolate, cherries compote, toasty oak and a touch of medium-rare steak. Really singing right now!

Really memorable! Drank with siblings and close relatives for my 50th. Complex spirit. Part of the cork fell inside the bottle when opening, not a problem though. Fruity and slightly peppery on finish. Outstanding!

All systems go on this one! Impeccable balance, every component in good harmony. Dark fruits in aroma and palate; with leather. For the quality year in year out, Clio is on the top.

Really dark purple color. The aroma starts off with sweet cherries, hint of menthol and ripe strawberries. Lush and velvety on entry with gobs of dark cocoa covered dark fruits, mocha and good acidity. A touch of grilled meat, full bodied and soft tannins in the end that lasts for less than a minute! This is impressive!

Bought from Trader Joe's. This is really cheap for a Barbaresco Riserva. Sweet nose of ripe berries with a nice acidic backbone but not overwhelming. Not a serious wine but enjoyable to drink right now especially with the price! I will buy some more of these.

Aromas of sweet dried fruits with some smoky character. Medium-full bodied that saturates the palate with juicy soft tannins. Classic flavors of dried fruits and burnt sugar delivering a touch of bitter coffee and cocoa. Really nice wine to enjoy now but will be better with additional year of age.

This wine is singing right now! Deep red with brownish hue that indicates age. Interesting sweet aroma of strawberries, spices, hint of menthol, a bit earthy (or maybe cheese rind ?) Velvety smooth on entry, feels really full and juicy on the palate like juicy red fruits. Finishes with a drop of earthy spice on the back end. Really love this!

Not your typical Aussie shiraz or even not a typical bottling of Woodcutter's of the past years. This is one lean towards rustic/old world style. Leather, dried herbs and beef blood; lacking a little fruit for my preference but still drinkable and good! B

Shed its baby fat. The color is still deep dark purple with aromas of leather, beef blood, dried black fruits and cassis. Nicely concentrated flavors of cherries, cranberries, toast and coffee on medium-heavy body and acidic backbone.

Garnet color. The initial aroma gives an amalgam of red fruits (cranberries, cherries, strawberries) topped with syrup. There's also leather and dried herbs. Lighter-Medium bodied with lively acidity and red fruit flavors. Still fairly tannic at the end. I will wait for 2-3 years for my other bottle. Very good with food.

Saturated dark ruby color. Ripe aromas of blackcurrant, black cherries, chocolate and subtle hint of eucalyptus/mint. Medium bodied. Lush on entry followed by juicy black fruits wrapped on dark cocoa powder. Secondary flavors of beef blood (rare steak), cigar box and leather. Perfect accompaniment to short ribs. At peak.

I was taken aback by the initial entry with a feeling of little carbonation in the palate but after that, this bottle has plenty to give. Acidity is on the medium scale that balanced out the wood and fruit. Good extraction of fruit and black fruit flavors.

Nice bottle of cab. A nice bouquet of black currant, blackberries and underlying mineral touch and toasty oak. Silky on entry before the mocha-wrapped tannins and acidity emerges. Toasty in the middle and finish with black fruits and oak.
