Double decanted 3 hours before drinking. A modicum of lees decanted off. Excellent nose of mostly dark fruits. The palate started out with excellent structure overlaying licorice, dark cherry, cedar, excellent acidity and cassis. Thus is an outstanding wine with many years left to mature further.

Deep, rich nose and palate of cassis and some spice. One of those wines that beg to be sampled over and over again. An absolute delight with good acidity to offset a marinated tri-tip wonderfully. Elegance personified. Stag's Leap district in a bottle.

Delicious and reaching maturity this Rhone blend was a real treat. A complex nose and earthy palate showed very well and even complimented a Tuscan chicken recipe with enough acidity and flavor to make it a huge success. Don't hesitate to drink up if you have some.

A bit more restrained than most high-end Napa Cabs. Good acidity to handle food pairing and has a definite mineral component. Medium length finish.

Decanted for about an hour before drinking at dinner over an hour and a half. Deep, rich nose of dark cherry with some heady flora lift. The palate is seamless from start to finish with dark cherry, a touch of cassis, a bit of cedar, all so smooth and refined until some balancing acidity comes in at mid palate combined with a bit of mineral tones to balance things out. The lingering finish brings the experience to a fitting close just to tempt you to taste again.

Rich and delicious. Beautiful, slightly reticent nose of dark fruits and earth. The palate had big dark fruits, charcoal, meat and smoke in a rich, complex meld that finished with a medium to long finish. This wine had a balanced feel with noticeable acidity and just a hint of smooth tannins. The alcohol was beautifully handled and barely felt. I just couldn't get enough and had to fight off my son for the last taste.

Opened then re-corked for an hour and a half. Drank with dinner. The nose was very good but somewhat less bold than I expected. The palate was nicely balanced with good acidity dark cherry and cassis. The finish started with some earthiness and a bit of tannins but was only of medium length.

This bottle is a bit over hill with a touch of raisin, still a fair amount of smoke and little in the the way of secondary flavors. The acidity is definitely present and without much to buffer the sharpness. This bottle has been well stored so I would not hesitate to finish off whatever you may still have in storage.

The nose was rich with subtle creme of cassis and blackberry hints. The palate was silky smooth adding some mineral notes and anise. The finish is long and smooth. Decanted for 90 minutes prior to tasting.

A lighter style Pinot Noir for California. This took about forty-five minutes to open up after decanting off the lees. Still ruby colored with some lightening in the meniscus but no orange evident. The palate has earthy notes, sassafras, and rhubarb. the finish shows plenty of acidity and is medium in length. Still very good with no real sign of decay.

Delicious and balanced for drinking now but still with a bit of tannins to last for years longer. I'll have a hard time letting my remaining bottles sit as this is an excellent example of what Bordeaux can produce.

One of my favorite Zins. Excellent nose and palate of rich, dark fruit but there was an excellent balance provided by acidity, smooth tannins, a touch of minerality, herbs and spice. Definitely not a fruit bomb!

This was a replacement bottle for a corked bottle. Bedrock offered a replacement based solely on my tasting note! The best customer support I've ever seen! This bottle was delicious, savory, rich but balanced and a real treat. Plenty of life to go so no worries or rush to drink up.

Somewhat subdued nose leads to a delicious palate consisting of tons of dark cherry, leather and earthy elements on a smooth, medium weight body fully resolved tannins and good acidity. Went perfectly with a great steak!

Undrinkable! When I opened this wine chemical smells overwhelmed any other nose. I put this in a decanter to see if the bad aromas would dissipate over time and they did tone down a bit but never fully went away. There was no fruit in evidence at all. Very disappointing!

Absolutely delicious! I decanted this about 2hours before a dinner of pork chops. The wine opened up beautifully. There were just a small amount of dregs in the bottle. The nose was full of floral, herbal and earthy tones. The palate echoed these notes and was seamless through mid palate and the mid length finish. At ten years this wine was in the groove without signs of impending decline.

Little to no nose and no fruit on the palate. Second bottle of the night that was corked. The other was a Force Majeure.

Dark, still with plenty of dark fruit but with some burgeoning secondary saddle leather and herbal influences. We did not decant but drank over several hours. It started out without much nose but as the evening progressed the nose and palate opened up extensively. Decant for a couple of hours before drinking.

The color is still vibrant yellow with the barest hint of orange. Mature, secondary and tertiary flavors predominate the palate. Very enjoyable Burgundy in its sweet spot.

Excellent nose with tons of fruit and spices. Bursting with rich flavors on the palate with a long finish. A bit too much alcohol shows up on the finish as the main drawback. You need to like big, rich Syrahs to appreciate most Saxums and this is no exception.

Deep. rich, full bodied Syrah from a great vineyard but I couldn't believe the ABV to be 14.2%. It did not carry the alcohol well at all. I would have guessed the ABV to be more around 15.9%. Other than that it was very enjoyable.

Mature with no sign that further aging is going to improve this Shiraz. Black fruit on the nose and palate finishing with a bit of spice and a hint of alcohol but not overbearing. Pretty smooth overall but the pricing was near the top of the Aussie craze level. Very full bodied and still enjoyable.

My son's friends were very impressed with this wine, as they should be, and stated that they didn't know Chardonnay could taste this good. As they were all red wine and beer drinkers I considered this a good step in their wine education.

This bottle was performing much better than the last I had. Double decanted 2 1/2 hours prior to serving and the consumed over about an hour and a half. There were a few dregs I was able to eliminate during decanting. By the end of the evening it was absolutely singing! Delicious, balanced and no where near over ripe. No need to rush as this has years of enjoyment ahead of it but if you want to open one up try decanting for 4+ hours.

Excellent nose still showing black cherries but mostly wonderful earthy notes of a mature wine. The palate continues the earthy notes along with some exotic spices with no bitter tannins remaining. Smooth and very enjoyable throughout. Drink up if you have one as I can't see any further improvement in its future. Decanted and drank over a couple of hours.

Slightly disjointed on popping open but rather quickly came together with a bit of air. Very smooth with just a few rough edges that may come together with a few years more in bottle. A bit of bite on the finish from the alcohol and good acidity but overall a very enjoyable, classy Merlot with plenty of fruit and spices.

This took a while to open up as it became warmer. I would recommend letting it warm to nearly room temp and a hour or more open to get the full enjoyment from this Chardonnay. Delicious without a lot of caramel/brioche overwhelming the palate.

Excellent second label Cab from Blankiet. Give it an hour or so of a decant and enjoy. Very balanced with just a bit of heat on the finish. Dark fruit on the nose and following up on the palate with a medium body and smooth palate.
