Excellent, mature and complex! Nice long finish. Could not be confused with a stainless steel finished chardonnay. This is at a great place right now so no need t wait further.

Absolutely delicious! Decanted at the start of dinner at Fleming's Steak House. The nose developed slowly until the steaks arrived when it seemed fully developed with rich but structured notes. The wine's structural bones and perfect acidity came alive paired with a rich juicy ribeye. Multiple notes of dark fruit and spices added interest on an almost weightless body followed by a nice long finish. This wine should only be enjoyed with rich meat to maximize your enjoyment. No sign of fading so count on years of life for any remaining bottles.

We decanted this at the restaurant about 30 min. prior to the main course. The initial impression was of muted nose and palate. When we poured with the main course it was starting to open nicely. By the end of the bottle it was delicious with a complex nose and palate of cassis, dark cherry, spices and slight unsmoked tobacco nicely balanced with light acidity and structured mouthfeel. The finish was also delicious but only of medium length.

Right out of the bottle this still impresses. As it airs it slowly looses the nose and palate complexity becoming an ungiving spicy, alcoholic, one dimensional tough wine to like. When first poured it was excellent with a deep nose and palate featuring black cherry and meaty notes. As it aired the alcohol dominates and any fruit influences go away. This bottle was stored in temp controlled storage for the entire time.

Absolutely superb Cabernet. Served at my Daughter's wedding. I decanted for approx. 3 1/2 hours. Rich dark fruit dominated nose. Super layered palate with a long finish. I can't imagine a better wine. Plenty mature but still years ahead.

Excellent Cabernet with plenty of structure, (acidity, tannins and mineralality) while still providing very good fruit but not overblown or a fruit bomb.

Opened with my wife and drank a glass apiece, vacuum sealed and put the bottle back in my wine cabinet. I opened it 5 days later and finished the bottle. At the initial tasting the wine exhibited excellent balance, rich flavor, with balancing acidity and tannins. When I opened the bottle again the wine was in even better form. It was a prime example of an excellent California Syrah.

Deep purple in color, with a moderate Cabernet nose. Rich front palate and smooth beautiful mid and a medium length finish. Plenty of structure with tannins evident and very good acidity on the finish. Plenty of life left in this 12 year-old beauty. Complex palate with plum, cassis, and earthy components. You can pop one but it really needs another few years of age to hit its peak.

Excellent Syrah from Terry Hoage! Somewhat
reticent nose initially that opened nicely after 15 to 20 minutes. Blueberry and blackberry fruit with a touch of olive juice greet you from the nose and initial palate followed by a bit of tannic structure that eases with some air. Very enjoyable and went well with some Mexican food from Chipotle.

Delicious as you would expect, this wine is both rich and abundantly structured with dark cherry, cedar and blackberry on both nose and palate. Tannins are moderate but present enough to ensure a long life for enjoyment of this wine with the possibility of further improvement as the structure and minerality. The finish is only of moderate length but otherwise this is a wonderful enjoyable wine for now through at least 2028.

Excellent wine that early on showed a nose with a mixture of bright influences but as open air time progressed mellowed to a more cohesive blend that, to me was not as interesting. The palate presented aa beautiful mix of fruit, mineral and earth notes with enough tannins to indicate several more years of enjoyment.

This was past its prime by a fair amount. Earthy wood notes predominate with no fruit in evidence. Still plenty of acidity but little to recommend this wine now. I do not remember if I was able to store this bottle correctly for a couple of years before I bought my first temp controlled wine cabinet which might have prematurely aged this bottle.

This wine carries some huge scores from published critics. I did not experience the same from this bottle. It was deeply colored, inky but the nose was mildly interesting and the palate mostly ungiving. The overall impression was of a well made wine with some age. It was smooth on the palate with good acidity but only some dark cherry for flavor. I don't usually expect Rhone varieties to go through "dumb" stages but that is the closest approximation I can come to about this wine.

Beautiful Chardonnay from Marcassin. The depth of flavor and balancing acidity were nearly perfect! Rich without sweetness Marcassin makes what I feel are the finest Chardonnays in the world easily the equal of any Burgundian offerings I've tried. This wine has matured a bit since my last bottle 7 years ago and improved noticeably.

Double decanted 3 hours before drinking. A modicum of lees decanted off. Excellent nose of mostly dark fruits. The palate started out with excellent structure overlaying licorice, dark cherry, cedar, excellent acidity and cassis. Thus is an outstanding wine with many years left to mature further.

Deep, rich nose and palate of cassis and some spice. One of those wines that beg to be sampled over and over again. An absolute delight with good acidity to offset a marinated tri-tip wonderfully. Elegance personified. Stag's Leap district in a bottle.

Delicious and reaching maturity this Rhone blend was a real treat. A complex nose and earthy palate showed very well and even complimented a Tuscan chicken recipe with enough acidity and flavor to make it a huge success. Don't hesitate to drink up if you have some.

A bit more restrained than most high-end Napa Cabs. Good acidity to handle food pairing and has a definite mineral component. Medium length finish.

Decanted for about an hour before drinking at dinner over an hour and a half. Deep, rich nose of dark cherry with some heady flora lift. The palate is seamless from start to finish with dark cherry, a touch of cassis, a bit of cedar, all so smooth and refined until some balancing acidity comes in at mid palate combined with a bit of mineral tones to balance things out. The lingering finish brings the experience to a fitting close just to tempt you to taste again.

Rich and delicious. Beautiful, slightly reticent nose of dark fruits and earth. The palate had big dark fruits, charcoal, meat and smoke in a rich, complex meld that finished with a medium to long finish. This wine had a balanced feel with noticeable acidity and just a hint of smooth tannins. The alcohol was beautifully handled and barely felt. I just couldn't get enough and had to fight off my son for the last taste.

Opened then re-corked for an hour and a half. Drank with dinner. The nose was very good but somewhat less bold than I expected. The palate was nicely balanced with good acidity dark cherry and cassis. The finish started with some earthiness and a bit of tannins but was only of medium length.

This bottle is a bit over hill with a touch of raisin, still a fair amount of smoke and little in the the way of secondary flavors. The acidity is definitely present and without much to buffer the sharpness. This bottle has been well stored so I would not hesitate to finish off whatever you may still have in storage.

The nose was rich with subtle creme of cassis and blackberry hints. The palate was silky smooth adding some mineral notes and anise. The finish is long and smooth. Decanted for 90 minutes prior to tasting.

A lighter style Pinot Noir for California. This took about forty-five minutes to open up after decanting off the lees. Still ruby colored with some lightening in the meniscus but no orange evident. The palate has earthy notes, sassafras, and rhubarb. the finish shows plenty of acidity and is medium in length. Still very good with no real sign of decay.

Undrinkable! When I opened this wine chemical smells overwhelmed any other nose. I put this in a decanter to see if the bad aromas would dissipate over time and they did tone down a bit but never fully went away. There was no fruit in evidence at all. Very disappointing!

Absolutely delicious! I decanted this about 2hours before a dinner of pork chops. The wine opened up beautifully. There were just a small amount of dregs in the bottle. The nose was full of floral, herbal and earthy tones. The palate echoed these notes and was seamless through mid palate and the mid length finish. At ten years this wine was in the groove without signs of impending decline.

Dark, still with plenty of dark fruit but with some burgeoning secondary saddle leather and herbal influences. We did not decant but drank over several hours. It started out without much nose but as the evening progressed the nose and palate opened up extensively. Decant for a couple of hours before drinking.
