Charleston V - the wooden anniversary; 11/6/2019-11/10/2019 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): Hello my lovely. By this point in the night I was pretty tired and over the hill and still Grange just stands out. Yes, too young. Will be better with some more years. However for many this was WOTN and I'm no exception to that rule. This was awesome. It's everything under the sun in one bottle and just straight up delicious.

6/18/19, 8:20 AM - I think these single vineyards from Monsieur Barroul are amazing wines which need a lot of time in great vintages . I buy them every year since 2004. Love this stuff. Drink them young if you like , or wait for rhone magic !!!!

Than you are able to discover a universe of pressure and greatness ! Could not drink this every week, but once a year this is amazing !

3/18/19, 7:01 AM - Der 2009 er hat noch locker 10 Jahre !! Wahrscheinlich auch 15 oder mehr. Das weiß sicher der FX noch nicht mal wie lange die Unendlichen halten. Wir werden es verfolgen ! Viel Spaß dabei.

This one is for you Frank, even if it is not your style ��

First after pouring very firm with the taste of cherry candy. After 30min + it starts to open up and offering a basket of red berries and lots of cherries of course. The reduction comes out and some volume in-mouth.

Missing a bit the slate (like in Molitor Pinots) and the racyness( very gentle in Ziereisen-style)

But nice easy-drinking Pinot but just a bit too conservative in order of the producer(s)

Real nice mature bordeaux. Medium Body , good structure, red fruits and forest with a nice finish. Not a blockbuster but a fun and joy to drink with a little decant. Drink !!!

2/11/18, 7:31 AM - Yes !!!!! 2017 !!! The lieu dits of Monsieur Selosse are all without vintage on the level. The only date is the degorgement. The les carelles is made in a solera system like the substance. My bottle was disgorgeed in 2017 !!! Any questions champussi ????? :o)

Dom Perignon tasting w/ Nick Lane.

Second released vintage of the former oenotheque bottling. We were told that there’s absolutely no difference between P2 and the regular Vintage.

The Degorgement of the bottes we had was 2016.

It was a bit closed in the beginning but opened up after 15 min in the glass.
Fine perlage and offers a silky mouth-feel.
The nose is Smokey with some flintstone. Very generous.

On the palate very compact.
The complexity is quite high but the acidity could be a bit more racy (in my opinion)

Needs a few more years to develop to drinking peak. 95+

The intricate label on the bottle should not make you prefer a wine over another with no regard to tasting it, but maybe an exception for this wine can be made. It’s got it all - fluid action, perspective, drama, tension - a gorgeous snapshot of actors amidst something significant. And I don’t even understand baseball.

The same can be said about how this wine is showing - it is a knockout now. A super sophisticated and intense nose of dark cherries, blackberries, tobacco, cigar shavings, charred game, autumn brush, lavender - the list goes on.

Palette was equally impressive, precise concentrated fruit with notes of smoked meats, candied apples, almonds, bacon, jam compress, hint of sweet cinnamon. Extraordinarily refined tannins make its long finish something to savour. It has substantive weight yet feels feather light on its feet. With its age, the wine has almost fully resolved its alcohol and is open, cool and integrated. An extraordinary bottle by any standards. Close contender for WOTN.

This wine shows no sign of weakening but has got to be fully mature now, so it worth picking up to experience if you come across it in the secondary market.

4/4/17, 10:11 PM - Hi Rackit ! I m following this wine since release. I loved it so very much in its primary and fruity Phase. Then i bought 2 cases and drank them during the years. It didn t improve at all !! It became a poor wine. The last 4 well stored bottles were undrinkable. so poor ! Not flawed. I have only one left ! I hope for a wonder !!!

Ein reifer klassischer "Old-School-Bordeaux"! Mehr auf der erdigen und würzigen Seite. Weniger Frucht! Wird wohl nicht mehr besser!? Austrinken!!

Nein, das ist kein großer Wein! Aber, er ist lecker! Nicht jeder mag Tannat. Die Nase schreit zwar :"Bordeaux"! Und der erste Schluck lässt einen auch noch nicht zweifeln, aber das ist doch etwas anderes! Etwas eigenes! Er ist jetzt endlich absolut reif, wird wohl auch nicht mehr besser, läst sich aber bestimmt noch 2-3 Jahre auf dem Niveau trinken. Was ist hier bloß in großen Jahren und bei den besseren Selektionen von Alain Brumont möglich!?

Schöner Napa Cab.! Eher auf der fruchtigen Seite. Nicht über die Massen komplex. Ein echter everybodys Darling! Auch nicht zu fett, zu holzig oder marmeladig, einfach ein schöner typischer US-Cab. mit viel Frucht und gutem Trinkfluss! Vielleicht etwas zu teuer, aber lecker allemal!!

Sehr schöner reifer Pauillac! Tolles Rot, schöne klassische Nase und perfekt an Gaumen. Alles da was man braucht! In den nächsten 2-3 Jahren austrinken!

Trinkreif! Man schmeckt das "ungewöhnliche" Jahr. Der Wein hat irgendwie "Auslesecharakter"!? Schön zu trinken. Schwer vorstellbar, dass er noch besser wird!? Aber mal sehen. 4 Flaschen sind noch da.
