This is a fabulous wine. Everything is in the right place. The nose is rich with small berries flavors. The palate delivers strong notes of ripe plums and cherries, chocolate and spices. The tannins are very silky. Long, yummy finish. I am so fond of it. A real gem.

This is a superb wine that despite the price point over delivers against the "bigger brothers". I actually suspect that the ratings aren't as high as they should be because it's a relatively cheap wine. Dark beautiful color. Complex on the nose, ripe dark fruit and orange peel. Spices. On the palate, it's big, with strong tannins that will give the wine good cellar life. Crisp acidity, and cherries flavors. Long finish. 14.5% alcohol. I would dare anyone to taste it blind and not to think it's a brunello. It's there, just half the price. Buy it if you find it.

Starts with a great dark color that fades into lovely maroon at the edges. The nose is great, complex, with strong fruit notes of berries and underbrush and then evolves into licorice and wooden notes. On the palate, absolutely juicy with good acidity, strong yet integrated tannins, and a long, long finish. This is a great brunello from a great vintage. Love it.

A dark barolo, stunning color. A bit shy but with great freshness on the nose with menthol and cut flowers notes. On the palate, licorice and bitter cocoa, together with ripe cherries and dark fruit. Medium finish, well integrated tannins. It's a good barolo in the price range. You won't go wrong buying this wine.

AG 94 points. Such a great Barbera, an educational effort for those who think that Barbrra is cheap and easy. Menthol and graphite layers, dark ripe plums and cherries. Long, long finish. This is a big wine, make no mistake.

Value for money. Cherries dominate the fruit notes. Cardamom and leather for the spice notes on the nose. Orange peel on the palate. Good finish. I am positively surprised about this wine. It drinks well now, it has depth to compete with higher priced wines. Like it!

Dark, impenetrable color. Cherry jam, vanilla, ripe friuts dominate the palate. Yummy and soft. Dark orange chocolate notes. Long finish, soft tannins. I like this wine. 15% alcohol.

Dark purple color. Cherries and plums for the fruit, spices and menthol notes. Dry tannins still persist, I'll wait a couple of years before opening the next bottle. But very yummy today. Long finish. Great barolo.

Big wine. 100% cab sav, not common. Grilled herbs, toasted asian spices, licorice and vanilla. Concentrated tannins. Built to age. It will be interesting to see how it ages... Have enough bottles to check it out once a year for a while

This is absolutely yummy. Dark cherries on the palate, rose petals and menthol notes on the nose. Hints of caramelized orange peel. Licorice and cocoa make it really juicy, silky tannins. This is the time to drink this wine. Long finish. My last bottle, I am desperate! What a great effort.

I am a big fan of Produttori. Struggling with this one though. It's a good wine, don't get me wrong. But it's unusually tight. Smoke, licorice, menthol on the spice notes. Hints of cocoa. Small underbrush fruit, raspberries and red currants. Good acidity, this wine is going to last a long time. "Sandy" tannins if that's even an acceptable comment.

Beautiful see through color, mid weight red. The nose tells of underbrush, wet grass, wild strawberries, the small ones you can find in Italy. Very fresh menthol and minerals hints. On the palate strong notes of small berries, blueberries and raspberries. Very firm tannis, very juicy, the acidity is just yummy. I like it a lot, for this price range (~40$) is a sure winner.

Super ripe dark fruit, plums, strong chocolate notes, candied cherries and vanilla. I could have mistaken it for a new world shiraz. Silky tannins. A big, big wine from Giacomo Bologna. 16% alcohol. Barbera can be surprising.

Elegant, not powerful brunello. Nose of tobacco and earthy notes, with a nice freshness coming from menthol hints. On the palate, small ripe fruit, blueberries and dark cherries. Nice finish, the tannins are very subtle. Overall, a very feminine brunello, and yes, an excellent brunello.

There is a great freshness to this 70% merlot and 30% cab sav. Plums and menthol dominate the nose and the palate. The tannins are strong, probably I should have waited a couple of more years before opening this 2010. With time and air, cocoa and coffee notes make space in the glass. What a great wine from Tuscany

What an incredible Sangiovese blend. 85% with 15% Malvasia Nera. The nose is beautiful with dark ripe fruit, plums. There is definitely a smoke and fireplace wood component. The palate lives up to expectations, the tannins are strong but well integrated. The finish is a bit short. Overall, a great wine. Fantastic value for money. Can stand up to most supertuscans and win.

What a surprise! The colour is absolutely impenetrable with beautiful purple edges. The nose is rich with ripe dark fruit, plums and cherries. On the palate, the dark fruit is joined by notes of cocoa and vanilla. Smooth tannins and long finish. Overall, tons of fruits notes. Didn't know barbera can get this good. And for 40 bucks, this is a steal.

Dark, impenetrable colour. The nose shows clear notes of toasted spices, mocha and balsamic. On the palate, strong tannins pair the mocha/spices with dark fruit notes, plums and cherries. The finish is a bit short. 40% merlot, and it shows. Might need a couple of more years to develop. I was expecting more, but I also had high expectations. For less than 45$, good value for money.

Stunning. It jumped out of the bottle with an intense nose of leather and grilled savoury herbs notes. Liquorice, spices and tobacco. The palate was sensational with dark cherries, sweet blueberries and plum jelly dominating the fruit notes, while paring the fruit with strong notes of cocoa, coffee and oak. Super silky tannins, completely integrated. Long, juicy finish. My last bottle, and I can't decide if I am more sad cause I have no more, or happier because I was able to enjoy such a great Ornellaia. If you find it, get it.

Impressive brunello. The nose is very elegant, very defined. At start, lots of ripe cherries hit the palate. The fruit is very intense. Strong tannins. Very, very long finish... 60 seconds and counting. With time and air, the nose evolves to smoke and tar adding depth to ripe dark fruit tones. Excellent wine, I wish I bought more.

Very elegant, great finesse. Tobacco, licorice and super ripe dark fruit. Toasted spices and hints of the oak emerge after some time in the glass. Long, smooth finish. A great Tignanello.
