This shows a lot of the typical Turley spice. It is showing perfectly now and is ready. I would not wait more than a year or two before drinking. Unfortunately this is my last bottle of the '14.

Turley always seems to do very well with Pesenti. It is always one of my favorites. Loads of typical Turley spice with pepper and jam. Fruit up front with a very balanced finish. Not at all hot for a 16.3% wine. Unfortunately I only have 1 more bottle in the cellar.

Wonderfully balanced. It is missing the Turley spice but it is a wonderful Zinfandel. The tannins and fruit are at levels that would appeal to other than Zin freaks. Simply elegant.

Big smoky, jammy not flabby and loaded with red fruits. Loads of oak which can at times over power the fruit. Licorice and chocolate in the finish.

Loads of red fruit but not thick & jammy. Notes of cherry and red raspberry. I expected some heat from a 15.5% wine but was pleasantly surprised. A very pleasant Zin.

This is an old world wine with a new world attitude. I do not get an overly herbal taste that others have complained about. Had this with Chicken Cacciatore & pasta and it stood up very nicely. This was more like a Sangiovese from California than from Toscana. Very enjoyable, don't know that it was worth the price (near US $40)

Great Cali-Rhone wine. Wonderful nose. Nice jammy forward with smokey black fruits and chocolate. Nicely complex. Unfortunately the last of the '06s.

Luscious jammy wine. Loads of red and black fruit. Cherries and blackberries. Deep garnet color with not much nose. Typical Turley spice. My last bottle, bummer. A wonderful wine on a snowy night. Not much heat for 16.1% wine, but it does get your attention.

This needs to open up a bit as it is very nondescript and thin for the first 1/2 hour or so. After it opens up it makes for a very pleasant wine. This wines becomes a bit more complex over time but never becomes a big wine. There is no confusing this wine with a Zinfandel. The style is very much as you would expect from a Provencal red table wine. This used to be one of the most widely planted grapes in the US but you rarely see Carignan anymore.

This wine is currently ready. If you've got'em drink em. Not your typical Turley with loads of fruit and that typical Turley spice. This wine is not a good example of the varietal character I have come to expect from Zinfandel. That being said, this is a wonderful wine. More complex and full bodied, reminiscent of a big Rhone. Still has black fruits but also nice smoke and leather. Wonderful tannins.

Starts with black fruit and pepper. Needs to sit a bit after opening oe it seems a bit vegetal. After an hours rest it is nicely balanced, not overly fruity or hot. Finishes nicely with pepper and lingering blackberry.

Rather vegetal and herby. Still has a lot of varietal characteristics. I am missing the "Turley spice" that I have come to expect. It doesn't matter the producer, Lodi is not my favorite Zinfandel location.

Big jammy Zin rounded out by the Syrah & Mourvedre but a bit more smoky and old wood than I remember. These tend to soften and round out the wine. Loads of Spice and Fruit and then it softens in the smoke. Very nice wine. This needs to be open for an hour before serving. This is why I buy LC wines.

Very tight. This needs some air time to blow off the tannins. This would stand up to a rich red sauce pasta very well. The tightness against the sugar of the tomatoes would be wonderful. I'm saving my last bottle another year or two.
