Immediately this rolled across the tongue this shouted "I'm here and I am delicious". Incredible balance, Heathcote and Grampians shiraz, lovely fruit, smooth tannins, subtle acid, hints of pepper and background oak. Will likely cellar for a few more years but well worth checking up on if you have a few in the cellar. 92+.

Exceptional balance of fruit, wood, acid and tannins. Drinking superbly, luscious body, excellent fruit, dark berries, red berries and ripe plum, silky smooth tannins, a nice line of acid suggesting this will continue to develop further over the next 5-8 years but fantastic now. Hard not to drink now at its peak rather then wait for tertiary development??

This is good. Excellent structure, the Merlot fleshes out the Cabernet giving it a luscious body. Good wood, subtle acid, smooth tannins, very approachable for such a young wine. Gives confidence that it will develop further in the cellar. 92+

Very impressive. Lovely fruit, plum and red berries, integrated wood, nice line if subtle acid and smooth tannins plus a dash of cool climate pepper. absolutely delicious. Went very well with a rare grilled rib eye steak. 93.

Six years on and this is now starting to show some aging. Still a deep burgundy but some fading/slight bricking at the edges. Fruit still poking through but seems lighter in body. Drinking nicely. I have one bottle left which I will drink sooner (within the next year) rather than later. 92

I paid $6.00 per bottle for 12 from Get Wines Direct. Very much a mid week bbq wine. Under cork but minimal stain on the base of the cork suggests it has only recently been bottled. Red berries and some spice. Not one for long term cellaring. 86

Very young but we wanted to put something with a good reputation to the taste test. The bottle was opened and half a glass poured. Both bottle and glass were allowed to stand for an hour before tasting. The first impressions were the fruit, black berries and ripe plums, smooth tannins, light pepper and integrated oak. As the meal progressed the wine developed even more, lush body, smooth tannins, lovely oak, combined with a line of acid making for great structure and promise for more development over the next decade. 93+

A lovely wine. Well balanced, a good body, dark fruit, subtle wood, smooth tannins, a fine line of acid to indicate it will cellar for a long time to come and excellent length. Now I understand why it it is so popular. 94 :)

This took almost 2 hours after opening to transition from a very closed almost green/raw wine when opened to smooth out and reveal the balance of the fruit, (cassis, dark berries) wood, subtle acid and smoooth tannins. Very dark red through to the edges, lush body and good length. really good drinking but will benefit from a decant and at least an hour and a half breathing time. Should last another decade.93+

This wine continues to develop in the bottle and yet at 7 years of age it is still in a primary stage of development. The greenness of early youth has softened, the fruit (dark berries, red berries and a splash of plum) has integrated with the wood and the tight line of subtle acid. Soft tannins resulting in a delicious wine, excellent body and length with hints of black pepper and dark chocolate. Makes you want to keep going back for more. 93+

At 5 years of age this is very young for a Black Label but it is drinking beautifully and has the structure the last another decade easily. dark red, almost black through to the edge of the glass where it shows a beautiful rich garnet colour. No crumbling or bricking. Loads of cassis, nice line of acid, hints of eucalypt and mint and a full lush body. 93

This has developed nicely. Integrated fruit, wood and tannins to give a very smooth wine with good length and body. Still very young but has subtle acid and will continue to evolve in the cellar for another 10 years easy. 92+

This is drinking beautifully now. Smooth tannins, fruit blended in with the wood, enough subtle acid to suggest it will continue to develop in the cellar for another 2-5 years, but why wait?

This is sublime and no where near its' peak. Lovely balance of fruit, wood, tannins and acid. delightful mouth feel, lush body, lingering length. plums, dark berries, cassis, blended oak, nice line of light acid and would have continued to evolve in the cellar but for my impatience. Enjoy now (like I did) or cellar carefully for another decade. 94+

At 16 years of age the fruit (cassis) is still prominant, subtle eucalypt and faint mint, the wood is well integrated and the tannins are silky smooth. A delightful wine that still has years left in it. No sign of the tertiary flavours of shoe leather etc yet. Will go another decade. 92+

I found it a bit dry, not what I was expecting, colour was the only thing going for it, came over a bit light in the body and I thought the alcohol was possibly higher than indicated. Fruit was average, tannins ragged and acid disjointed. Couldn't recommend this one.

This is exceptional. Big luscious body for a cabernet, loads of fruit, cassis dark berries, a good wood presence without being over powering. Balanced acid, lingering length, flavours of fruit, cigar box and something else. Makes you want to keep going back for more. Will go another 8-10 years easy. 95+

Still in a secondary stage. Dark red, almost black through to a thin clean red edge. Loads of cassis and red berries, wood acid and tannins blending with the fruit to give a lovely body and good length. If you are holding any this will continue to develop over the next decade. 93

Still going strong in late secondary stage. Would probably have lasted another decade. Slight bricking at the edges, still dark red. Bouquet a mixture of cassis, blue berries and red berries, cigar box, hints of mint and eucalypt. Pretty much the same on the palate, layer upon layer of differing flavours, with some chopped tobacco emerging late. 93+

Opened before dinner, half a bottle poured off and sealed for the next night. Beautiful fragrance of fruit, licorice, and subtle vanilla oak. First sip, blown away by the layers of flavour, cassis, plums, red and black berries, licorice, subtle oak, smooth tannins and a nice line of acid. The wine continued to evolve and delight through the course of the meal and the half bottle put aside for the next night didn't make it. 92+

Dark red through to the edges. Luscious body, cassis (black currants and red currants) ripe but not overripe, typical quality Coonawarra fruit with hints of mint and eucalypt intermingled, good cedary oak supporting the fruit and not dominating. Drinking well now and likely to cellar for another 5-8 years. 91

An absolute delight. The cork broke on extraction but the seal was very good with barely one mil of creep around the base of the cork. Decanted through a fine cloth to pickup any cork crumbs, minimal silt. Half a bottle put aside for tomorrow night. Dark red red through to the edges, no sign of browning perhaps a little bit of crumbling at he edge. Bouquet of plum and dark berries with a hint of aged wood/wood polish and then a hint of milk chocolate and mint. Pretty much the same on the palate but the balance was lovely. A luscious wine worth every bit of the dollars and capable of a few more years in the cellar.

Consumed over two nights, really opened up on the second night to reveal the depth of fruit, mocha, a hint of aniseed and typical shiraz pepper. All balanced out with a subtle line of acid and dusty tannins. Still evolving and worth hanging on to some for another 5 plus years.

Still a baby. Luscious fruit, subtle wood, smooth tannins, acid in balance, lingering length, will last another decade plus but drinking exceptionally well now. The previous tasting note should refer to the "Eden Valley" not the "Clare Valley". This bottle was consumed over two nights. Deep red with almost golden hues at the edges. The fruit, wood and acid are in balance providing a luscious wine with soft silky tannins. Drinking really well now and one bottle left for further down the road. 92

This was very pleasing. Magnum with cork seal. Cork broke into two pieces as extracted but what little crumbs of cork there were was removed during decant into two decanters (through a fine cloth). This also removed some fine sediment. Allowed to breathe for close to two hours. In the glass the colour was a dark red tending to brick red, in the decanters the colour was impenetrable black, the bouquet was lush fruit red and dark berries and a splash of chopped tobacco/cigar box. The fruit, wood and acid were all in balance. Full bodied, excellent length and still in a mid secondary stage. If you have any magnums you could safely cellar them for another decade. 93+

One of the first Pyrus under screw cap, this took years to open up but at 15 years of age it has now fully moved from the youthful (slightly green) phase into the secondary stage with very smooth tannins, lush fruit and subtle acid. Typical Coonawarra Eucalypt/light mint and a touch of chopped tobacco/cigar box. A delight to drink and should continue to evolve for another 5 years plus. 93.

Five years on and this has barely changed, colour still youthful, still closed when first opened, but after two hours in the decanter the fruit prevails with background wood, tannins and acid in balance. If anything it is even smoother on the palate, luscious body, excellent length and lingering flavours. Still holds promise for the future in the cellar. 94
