Great nose of bright cherry, pepper, earth very rich and silky on the tongue with a complex floral finish. Tasted against all the wines throughout the night and continued to impress...

Lots of black cherry and dark plummy notes, gorgeous nose of cassis, and a touch of cocoa. Chewy mouthfeel, delicious flavors, with a fabulous balance and long finish.

A great surprise...From bottle, the wine boasts a dense plum/purple color in addition to a special nose of kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, and minerals. Chantaloutte is enormously pure, massive, and rich.

Had the opportunity to open this bottle at a friends house. When first tasted, this Medoc seemed old, tired and unflattering. We decanted the wine, and as time passed, the wine improved steadily in the glass becoming "very" drinkable and enjoyable. I must admit I loved the brownish color of this oldie although I missed the Lafite's fabulous bouquet....

The bouquet is thin, the wine is rather shy, coming in gently with toast, butter, oak, plum and a medium acidity. The exit is big raspberry, which lingers long and lovely in the mouth.Later, the bright fruit flavors mellow nicely and allow root vegetable notes in the mouth. This pinot noir is extremely well balanced. Each flavor is distinct, soft and a nice blend in the overall taste...

Rich, lavishly oaked Cabernet Sauvignon with bold cassis, black cherry, loam and spice flavors that often verge on sweet; lush texture; and considerable early appeal.
