Medium to deep brown colour. Incredibly rich and complex nose has flavors of dried apples, figs, raisins, nuts, rancio, orange peel, salinity, cinnamon, clove and vanilla. Mouthfeel is slightly oily, while retaining also high acidity. Taste is maybe not 100% as complex as the nose, but still very nice, fresh and balanced. Beautiful aged, mostly sweet marsala with a vg price point. Highly recommended.

Medium to deep ruby colour. Nose has prunes, spice, tobacco and a hint of bramble. Taste is more pronounced, and spices become more identifable, anis, allspice, clove. Medium body, high acid, very high tannins, long. Not the most complex and little on the young side, but very balanced and has potential.

Medium ruby colour. Jammy and spicy nose is influenced by black cherry, stewed apple and blackberry. Taste is also jammy and sweet. Medium low acid, low tannins, full body, some sweetness. Quite a letdown, could be a good wine w/o res sugar. Flabby, sweet and very uninteresting. Save your money and buy something else.

Medium gold colour. Nose is mineral driven with some preserved lemon peel and some fleeting ginger. Taste is also primarily mineral and replicating the aromas of the nose. Light body, high acid, dry, long. Very nice, balanced, and with enough mineral depth even though the primary aromas have faded. Bargain for the price, and still has life left.

3/2/2024 - vaenoke Likes this wine:

Deep Garnet, murky colour. Stewed cherries and strawberries on the nose, along with ink and spice notes. Aromas of the nose replicated in the taste, along with some cured meat. High alcohol, high acid, medium tannins, medium-full body. Very good, while not being very pinot-like. Complex enough while still enjoying the balance. At peak, further cellaring might result overwhelming umami characters. Pleasant experience.

Medium purple colour. Jammy black fruit on the nose, plums, blackberries, black cherries and a whiff of blueberries, some black pepper note. Taste is less pronounces than nose. Full body, medium-high dusty tannins, medium acid. Very aussie-shiraz-like, good stuff, nothing spectacular.

Medium Ruby colour. Sweet cherries, stewed strawberries, jammed pink grapefruit and orange peel on the nose, accompanied by a touch of cloves and a punch of heat. Fruit replicated in the taste, although dryer. Medium body, medium acid, medium-low tannins, high alcohol. Nice and pleasant Catalan Garnacha. Better with asian (not too spicy) food, which mellowed the alcohol. Gonna hold out for a couple of years, not to develop though.

Deep tawny colour. Nose is sweet with dried fruit and some baking spice. Notes of raisins, figs, cinnamon, vanilla. Aspects of nose replicated in the taste. Full body, dusty medium tannins, medium acid. Good dessert wine, but fairly simple and disjointed. Past it's prime.

Pale yellow colour. Nose is fruity and sweetish, peach and mandarin peel. Taste replicates the fruit while adding some fruit stone bitterness and a toasted character. Medium body, medium-low acidity, dry with some res. sugar. A decent wine, which went well with asian food, but somewhat off balance with the low acidity combined with the res. sugar. Wont improve with age. Very low qpr.

Medium Garnet colour. Nose has barn and forest floor, cherries and brambles. Taste is also quite earthy, though leaning more to gravelly minerality. Fruit is sour, cherry and cranberry notes. Medium-low tannins and medium body, high acid. Very lovely and old-world style pinot, also a steal for the price. Got a fair amount of life left, maybe even some development potential.

Deep yellow to gold colour. Sweet and tart nose leans toward dried fruit; apricot, apple, pineapple with some spice notes. Taste is more tart than nose, while replicating the aromas, although the fruit notes are more fresh. Light body, high acid, oily mouthfeel, half-dry. Not the most complex, but the balance is beautiful and the acidity keeps the wine fresh despite the age. Will hold good for a decent amount of years. Cant tell if there's any potential for development though. Gonna pop another bottle to cellar for few years just to test it out. Highly recommended.

Deep Purple colour. Nose has jammed prunes, cherries and blackberries, baking spice, heat and cotton candy. Notes of smell replicated in the taste, while adding slight touch of eucalyptus. Full body, medium acid, medium tannins, sweet. Nice depth, but lack of acidity and tannins puts it off balance. Ok still, expensive for the quality.

Bought from Murcia or Cartagena couple years back. 100% Monastrell, 20 month oak aging. Deep Ruby colour. Some fine sediment at the bottom. Nose is strong with notes of dark fruit, cocoa, cloves and other baking spice, smoke, tobacco and heat. Components of the nose replicated in the taste. Took a while to really open up. Full body, high tannins and alcohol, medium high acid, dry. Long finish. Really good, and excellent for the price. Opened too early though, has a good amount of life left, and even to improve.

Medium to Deep Garnet colour, no sediment at all. Nose has jammed cherries, some faint balsamic, touch of heat, spice. Taste is even less fruity, while ink and balsamic are still present, while adding some licorice aspect along with crushed gravel character. Medium-high in body, acid and tannins. Fruit heavily gone down since the last bottle, but some tertiary notes emerging. Seems to be evolving while showing little physical aspects of bottle-aging. Might be some more potential for development and at least will hold current level for few years.

Deep tawny colour, some sediment in the bottle. Nose has a strong inky tone, along with jammed cherries, figs, some heat and spice. Ink is less noticeable in the taste, but still present, while taste replicates other components of the taste as well. Full body, medium acid, sweet, medium rounded up tannins. Has depth, but slightly off balance, very different to other red dessert wines i have tasted. Some bottle-life left, probably wont improve though.

Pale to medium gold colour. Nose is very restrained, with some bitter stone fruit and lemon peel. Taste is also very muted, replicating the aromas of the nose. Medium body and acid, dry, oily mouthfeel. Probably way past itse prime and primary floral and fruity notes have died off while having no mineral characters that would have survived the time. Still a decent and well balanced wine which went well with food, but at the same time pretty dull to be drank on its own.

Medium Straw colour. Nose is tart and mineral-driven, with notes of petrol, pear, apricot stone and blanched almond. Taste is also very mineral-heavy, with some rounding sweetness. Flavors of of the nose replicated in the taste, while adding some honey and ginger flavours. Light body, acidic, dry with some res. sugar. Very good and fresh Alsatian Pinot Blanc, delivering the expected quality and characters of the region and grape. Not a top wine, but can't say there's anything really wrong either. Good value for price, and a decent amount of life left.

Medium ruby colour, colour has no signs of age. Nose is somewhat muted, plum, blackberry, maraschino cherry, some spice. Taste is more herbal; while replicating the black fruit notes, and adding bay leaf, thyme, graphite shavings, some dark roast coffee/cocoa notes. High nicely rounded tannins, medium-high acid, medium full body, nice finish. Beautiful, nicely priced Pomerol. Still at least couple of years to go, maybe even more.

Labeled as orange wine though colour does not indicate skin contact. Flint, herbiness, apricots, yellow plums. Medium acid, medium-low body, a trace of res. sugar, bit oiliness. Not the most complex one, but brilliantly balanced and everything falls into place.

Medium to Deep apple colour. Sweet toned nose has lots of golden apple, touch of vanilla and a whiff of bitterness. Taste is half-dry, while labeled as brut, while replicating the apple, adding some pinoty herbiness, vanilla mousse, and some fruit stone bitterness. Good, but bit simple and not too well balanced, especially with the sweetness.

Picked up for 8€ from Latvian market. Medium yellow colour. Mineral-driven nose has seashells, salinity, some lemon peel and a touch of pear. Medium Ruby to Deep Garnet colour. Nose varied a lot over time - straight after opening - vegetal and peppery - and after couple hours of decant - brought about more fruit flavors with strawberries and cherries. Nose retained some spicy notes, vanilla and cinnamon and the herbal element of tomato leaf. Taste has some fruit with plums and cherries, stront vegetal character and elements of oak aging. High tannins rounded up with time,medium-high acidity, completely dry. VG Chianti, with plenty of life to go. Not top tier, so probably wont be worth cellaring for too many years.

Medium ruby colour. Jammy, sweet and spicy nose has components of cherry jam, stewed strawberry and clove. Taste is less sweet as the acidity balances, while replicating the components of the nose. Medium-full body, high acid, medium-high tannins rounder by age. Medium high alcohol, 3g residual sugar. Very good, although the jammy style is not my favorite. Chilling to 16 celsius elevated the acidity and brought balance to the wine. Still 1-2 years life left, will not develop more.
