Family Holidays; 7/28/2023-9/10/2023 (Alicante - España): By the glass. Blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot noir with an aging of four years and a sugar addiction of seven grams per liter. Alcoholic volume of 12%. On the nose a lot of white fruit combined with notes of hazelnuts and white flowers. The palate is intense, direct but balanced, mellow with a good length and a aftertaste full of nuances of toast. Good but nothing glorious here.

Light gold color. Drank a couple glasses with my family with apps. This bottle had about 3 additional years of cellar time. so I was looking forward to it. White apple on the nose with hints of apricot, white lily's, yeast and baguette. The palate is fairly full bodied, lemon, almond liqueur, apricot, soft texture and subtle toast. Good, but not as impressive as some have been.

Jan's Back in Town (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes. This bottle, cellared since 2018, was just lovely tonight and right in my wheelhouse. Pitch perfect, full bodied yet so clean and polished while remaining light on its feet and bright; toasted, pear chiffon, almond, stones and light chalk, brioche, long and lifted. Super.

Saw this and decided to pick it up because it was cheap (for Champagne, of course) and seemed well-received online. Slightly on the richer side, with nice yellow apple, light breadiness, a little breezy mineral influence. Nicely balanced by freshness and crisp acidity - not going to change your life but a perfect companion for a spring day, a balcony, and a book.
Pale gold color - fine mousse with fairly rapid dissipation Medium aromas of yellow apple/ bread and slight oxidative notes Medium plus palate of rich golden apples and brioche Medium plus acidity and really nice length Nothing to write home about here but well made

Light gold color. Drank 2 glasses over an hour. Disgorged 2019. We drank this with our lobster tails tonight and this seemed to be firing on all cylinders for me. The first notes on the nose are star anise, followed by cut pear, wet stone, almonds and toast with a distinctive freshness. The palate is elegant and feels somewhat delicate too; really balanced, with pear, pear chiffon, and chalk on a bright finish. 92+pts.

A little bit leesy. Light mineral. Overall pretty classic in expression. Some apple and citrus. A bit sweet-tart. This is a focused, somewhat lean wine. I think it's supposed to be 2014 base so I think in a bigger year you might see more heft with this. This is a solid classic Champagne. Not much more. There is a chance this could improve a bit with some bottle time. Fairly fat bottle with one of those deep punts.

2014 Base year. Very pale straw yellow color. Medium sized mousse. Crisp sour apple on the nose, and some stone fruit sweetness. When tasting, the acidity creates a nice back bone leading the lemon curd land other citrus flavors onto the tongue, followed by more sweet apple and some relative savory/mineral notes. The 7 g/l dosage keeps it nicely in balance. A nice cuvée from this house.

Pizza Experiment Night (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 20 minutes. I was reading my previous notes on this wine and I realized I wrote down about the exact same thing. I really like this Champagne, very graceful, yeast, pear, green apple, dough, medium bodied. Love that kind of finessed style. Also has a cool looking bottle and label for what that's worth. My last bottle, a definite must reload.
I liked this better than the previous bottle. A decent level of complexity, more on the brioche end of the taste spectrum than the cut-grass-and-lemon end. Paired well with bruschetta and other hors d'oeuvres at Leo & Lucia's. $40 is a lot for me for any wine, but a decent QPR for non-industrial champers.

Light yellow with thinly scattered perlages plus aromas of yeast, pear, butterscotch extract, and kiwi. The sip starts with a tickley touch, adds a lemon citrus, and sloshing the wine in the mouth releases vigorous and flavorful bubbles. The swallow is lively, cleansing, and concentrated. Overall, a bright, youthful, and very enjoyable sparkler.

Brought this to a wine tasting at Chin Lee Restaurant last night.
Wine was oxidised (and flawed) due to improper storage. After the bottle was opened, the effervescence was gone within a minute. Yellow in colour with crisp notes of apples, asian pear, crackers, nuts, and toast.
Would be nice to taste this wine in its full glory.

Tampa Spring Break III; 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Tampa FL): My first time with this producer. More of a leaner styled champagne, bright acidity, lemon, tart green apple, crushed gravel, fine mousse. Nice bright and clean.

Tampa Spring Break (the third); 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Various Tampa locations (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Berns etc.)): The packaging on this really fools you - it has a pink label and a pink foil and you swear it must be a rose and then it pours as straight champagne. So I had a moment of recalibration. Again poured during the mix and mingle phase so it wasn't a wine that got a lot of contemplation. I remember thinking it was quite good though and a nice set of bubbles and while the Ruinart felt a bit like baby killing, this was more open and ready to go right now. Enjoyed.

Tasting group Spouse night - Bubbles (Mark E's.): This was quite good as well. Silvery gold in color. The nose was interesting. Cinnamon at the attack followed by red apples and then minerals. Good value at $39.

Citrus bright and sharp on the nose. Tight small bubbles. Had in Riesling glass to maximize nose and oxidation. Definitely lemon and orange peel with decent mid palate. Just not sure if its worth the $40. Andre Clouet puts this juice to shame. My last bottle of this (WTSO) not sure I would re buy if offered again. Nice champagne but not a strong buy even at $40.

No detailed tasting notes. Had in regular wine glass as the accompaniment to roast chicken and wild rice pilaf.
Just OK-Tasty enough, no off flavors or anything, but didn't have either the grace or depth that I have come to expect from Champagne at a $40 price point (from WTSO).

Light pale gold, great effervescence, long finish. This champagne needs about 20 min and a little warmer than "refrigerator temp" to show well. Lots of marzipan, lemon, white flower. If it had a little more toast it would go from good to outstanding. Really nice champagne at my sweet spot in price, better than the 05 dom p I had a week ago and about 30% of the price.

At first, powerful mousse that required a multi-step pour like it was a pint of beer.
On the palate, green apple, lemon, ginger, and some yeasty breadiness. It actually benefitted from being open a couple of days, as the fruitiness became more pronounced and the powerful foam calmed down somewhat. Actually has some body to it.
Amazing QPR for the price I paid.

Interesting. Had my other bottle of this on New Year's Eve 2014 and this bottle on New Year's Day 2016, a year later. I still think this is wonderful. I don't get the defects that others hint about. Fine, persistent mousse. Other comments from last year are unchanged. Sorry this was my last bottle. That being said, I just don't buy much higher priced Champagne anymore, preferring Prosecco for the QPR. I did have a bottle of Clicquot NV Brut this past year and at a price north of the Mignon, I preferred the Mignon. I do like Gruet, Kirkland Prosecco and Kirkland NV Champagne for the QPR. If you have the bucks, then there's a certain finesse about Champagne that the others can't deliver. But there's an elusive holy grail that I stopped searching for a number of years ago, preferring less expensive pleasure and the ability to spend the dollars on other things. Perhaps that's sad, but it works for me these days...
Actually a bit dissapointed with this given the price point and good reviews, glad I bought at half price. I would never spend my money on this as you can find so many great champagnes for the price of this.

Not bad, but at least in my opinion a little bit disappointing as it has obvious deficits. From an optical point of view, the perlage is probably the worst in any branded Champagne I've ever seen. IN addition, when tasting this one it shows a lack of homogeneity.
Can be drunk, but there are several better options in the same price range.

Needed a good 15 to 20 min to really open up. Tremendous effervescent, your mouth almost explodes in bubbles. Nice nose, lots of almond on the palate and a very long finish. Would have liked a little more toast but still a very nice champagne. Good qpr in my opinion.

I read that others were disappointed in this wine. I liked it. Maybe not a great QPR, but very enjoyable. Crisp nose and flavors of pear and apples with some slight/light toast/biscuit/yeast. Fine mousse. Nice way to ring in the new and ring out the old.

The champagne was pale straw in colour, with medium fine and medium intense perlage. It offered lemon, a hint of brioche and on day two also a hint of tea leave on the nose. On the palate the medium- to light-bodied sparkler was lemon & lime-driven, with crisp medium-plus acidity, a good mouthfeel and very good length. I liked it better on day two as it developed a slightly tropical touch over night, with hints of pineapple, lychee and peach. A fresh champagne, maybe a bit thin and steely and a little boring.

Great nose, lots of toast, licorice and citrus. Fine mousse and decent finish. One of my go to bottles, never disappoints. 91--92

New Years Eve Celebration (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): light gold color with a hint of pink. Drank 1 glass at midnight to toast the new year. A very nice bottle indeed. 55% PN and 45% Chard; the red fruit essence comes through, fairly big and structured, yeast, fuller bodied. 91+pts.

Wow, really enjoyed this bottle. Very rich without being fruity or ripe. Lemon curd, orange peel, spice, warm toast, with a touch of smoke. Excellent way to celebrate a patently great day.

Fresh and bright on the nose, nice mouth feel - pretty bubbles. A touch of lemon and yeast. No regrets except that the bottle is too heavy:)

Fine mousse, green apples, a little citrus and marzipan. Great mouthfeel and long finish. Not a lot of toast. Very nice champagne at a reasonable price point. Glad I have more. 91+

Very nice...

Sophisticated wine. Pale straw with a hint of gold. Fresh bouquet with a hint of bread-like sophistication. Fruity of apples, pears and moderate acidity. No hint of any off flavor or harshness. Beautiful wine of seriousness.

Golden in the glass, soft bubbles explode, hints of chalk and yeast, lemon curd, tangerine and brioche on the palate and fills the mouth with joy. Very nice.

a good Champagne but at £40 a bottle (although I admit I paid less than that on one of M&S's 25% discount days) I do question the QPR

Medium(-) lemon, fine sub-mm bubbles enamanating from numerous point sources. Medium(-) aromas of lemon, cooked green apple and biscuit. Dry, medium(+) tart acidity, medium(-) body and alcohol (@12.5% abv). Medium flavors of green apple, lemon, mineral, and touch honey/biscuit. Focused finish, medium length with cutting finish. Soft delicate mousse. Great as aperitif.
