Rich, intense, oily, lush, round and packed with perfectly ripe, yellow citrus and honeysuckle, you also find a nice mineralist touch to the fruit-packed finish.

This wine was sensational, reminding me of a top quality Chablis on steroids. A bright, rich golden colour this delivered a wonderful minerally nose with an abundance of summer fruits. Lush and viscous in the mouth with terrific delineation, energy and a long, long finish. Absolutely loved it.

I am not a fan of white Rhone but Beaucastel's 100% Roussanne VV always delivers. Like a Californian Chardonnay with lots of toffee and oak but with more acidity and earthy, herbal, fennel notes bringing back balance and freshness to this wine. It is rich but not heavy, wonderful aromatic complexity, generous palate. Excellent

Appearance is clear, medium intensity, gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of perfumy florals, honey, sweet spices, stony minerality. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of rounded honey, honeysuckle, stony minerality, bit of emerging straw and almond nut. Long finish. Very good quality. Lovely nose. Seems to have shed its fruitiness. More developed for sure from the last time I tried it 5 years ago. Haha now i actually preferred it then. It's a drink up call for me.
A special wine in all aspects and at this age a bit more evolved and lacked the freshness we really love in it in its first 5 years or so. We actually chose to serve it with the cheese course and it worked very well. Firm yet with evolved fruit, less fresh but still vibrant, mineral and with good depth of flavor and palate presence. Very good but for our liking we should have had it 3-4 years ago. 91

WOTN. Awesome white Rhone. Finally the oak has integrated and it's started to develop some of those incredible tertiary flavors. Green apple, rhubarb, bell pepper and lemon zest on the nose. There was a hard to place savory herb note as well. Oak, melon sherbert, and a sort of hint of rosemary on the palette. Long finish. Thick texture. Lovely

Decanted for a good 30 minutes. Still very much clear in color and has not gone dark as roussanne would do post a time in its age.. As with all the Rhone whites we do like them younger and fresher. This albeit we felt we left it a bit too much for our liking still was a pretty solid experience and a joy in itself. Oily, nice rich fruit, good structure and definitely with depth of flavor. Well matured albeit for the lovers for the style this can age a lot more. Good 91 shame for not drinking it sooner.

My last bottle out of three. Drank to celebrate my 30th birthday.
Same notes as before, but without doubt this was the most tasteful bottle of all three. Otherworldly smooth, complex and balanced. There were so many dimensions here that I hoped the rest of the guests wouldn't like it so I could have it all by myself. Unfortunately they also adored this.
I'm not pessimistic or anything but I am not sure I will ever experience such a great and perfect white wine again.

Wow. This really hits the spot. Melon/honeysuckle/white flower nose, fantastic balance, medium acidity, great freshness and length. An excellent drink. Will be interesting to see how this ages but it’s fantastic as is. Bring on the escalope!

Lush melon, green apple, honeysuckle and a long 30-40 second finish. A hint of oxidization. Not enough to overly detract from the freshness but lingering in the background and reminding you this 8 year old needs to be drunk soon if you prefer the freshness. 93+

Complex wine with green banana, melon, honey, biscuit and a medium plus to long finish. At times it really shone at others it lacked verve. Nice and lush if lacking the acidity of the 2012 vintage which seems to be drinking better at this stage. Drink up. 92-93

Intensity of flavor, with a wealth of raw materials combine to produce an oily textured, concentrated, lush wine, with layers of honeydew melon, fresh peach, apples, vanilla and just a hint of tropical fruit on the nose and palate. The texture is stunning and finish sticks with you, as the fruits build in intensity.

Lonny Might Be Turning Sixty (Tilia, Mpls): Light medium gold color. Light gold color. Drank a 1.75 oz pour over 40 minutes. Bill's bottle and another wow wine. Simply a beautiful expression of roussanne with amazing depth and definition. This has a gorgeous texture with a rich layered palate, lacquer, lemon custard, spicy, pear and white peach, melon. Very long and refined on the finish. This brings together the complexity and elegance and wraps it up in a perfectly balanced bow. 94+ to 95pts.

Served blind, we were all blown away. I guess 100 year old Roussanne vines will do that to you. The white peach, flower, stone, honeysuckle and citrus, with some vanilla tossed in for good measure were singing their aromatic song. Fat, rich, but not oily or overblown, this was in balance and harmony in every sense of the meaning.

Third time I drink this wine and the second time of this vintage. Brought out to celebrate my 28th birthday.
Popped and poured. Nose displayed grilled chorizo, toasted marshmallows, pear sorbet, wet stone, salt water, gunpowder, fresh yellow apples and flowers. Had more fleshy nose character than I have experienced from recent bottles.
On the palate the wine has a huge body: thick, juicy texture. Honey, chilli, caramel sause and yellow apples. The salinity of the wine is like licking on a stone. Imagine making a fruit smoothie and put down some lime stone gravel to the mix. Maybe that's not a fair description, but I can't think of anything else.
Performed better than the last -10 I drank a few years ago but do not show the greatness of the -07 vintage. Me and my parents agreed, based on three bottles, that this is probably the most tasteful wine cuveé we have ever drunk before.

Rhone style white blind tasting session (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Pop and poured. Drank over 2.5 hours. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of sweet spices, honey, lemon curd, minerality. Slight nuttiness and floral with more air. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet spice, honey, lemon curd, ripe peaches, minerality. More oily waxy notes with more air. Some slight bitter almond towards the finish. Long finish. Very good quality. One of the best CDP blanc I have tried so far. Rich, full and complex, yet managing to be elegant. Drank better at the start than at the end of the night actually. Very much enjoyable now, but I will keep my remaining bottle for another 4-5 years and see how this evolves. Roussanne old vines planted on limestone. Aged in one-year-old barrels with a touch of new oak. No malolactic fermentation.

Hommage A Jacques Perrin dinner - 89, 90, 00 and 10, also 02 Salon, 02 Carillon BBM, 89 Constance and etc. (The Grill Room at Capella Hotel Georgetown): I typically am not a big fan of ripe tropical fruits but this was incredibly delicious. Intense and expressive nose displaying pink grapefruit, candied orange, pineapple, coconut, pina colada, sweet spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, creamy texture, pina colada, bright acidity, strong mineral presence and lovely long finish. Despite very ripe tropical fruit driven palate impression, it shows nice balance. Really hedonistic wine but don’t look for Dauvissat here.

Needed a few hours coaxing, but once it reached the top of the pleasure trapezoid, it stayed there for 36 hours. This is a wine that one must try to purchase in large format so as to enjoy glasses of it over three or four days' time, not just sips. Alas, I doubt they make this in larger formats.

Wow, what a wine. Poured to accompany a grilled whole Branzino. What a match. The creamy and lush mouthfeel of the wine, and the balanced acidity, did wonders for the wine-food combination. This is fat, rich, and fruity with a restrained and elegant sweetness. The residual sugar is significant, which adds to the experience. A very long finish. Beautiful. Alas, my only bottle . . . .

I had the -07 a few years ago and I wounder if I was a bit early.
Had this on my 26th birthday and did not take any notes. It was a bit closed. Quite shy nose, but on the palate I remember how good this is. That honey melon fatness, that creamy texture and in the same way has that lovely stony minerals. Classic with elegance.
This is personality, something unique. The next time I will open one will not be before 2-3 years.

Epic. This is always a wine that i like to serve to friends who think they know their wine, and they are invariably blown away. An excellent vintage, with a pale golden colour, and a delicate marzipan nose and quite a thick glycerin texture. On the palate its fruity in a very exotic way, honeysuckle, papaya and pear. And then theres the finish, oh my goodness, its still going as i write this. Taking 6 bottles now, saving 6 bottles for 20 years time.
Popped and drunk. Amazing stuff. Honey suckle nose great medium-heavy weight on the palate. Nice sweetness on the nose. low acid. Beautiful flavors honey, Lilly, very floral. Super smooth flavors. Long finish 20seconds +. Nice yellow apple nose, straw, fresh cut grass. Nice creaminess flavors. Dry Pineapple flavors. Almost a milk and honey combination flavor. By far my favorite white wine.

Loved this wine. One of the tastiest white wines I have had in a while and a great transition away from all the SB and Chardonnays. The nose is beautiful, cut grass, lemon, honey. More on the palate along with nice oak flavors, excellent balance and acidity. There is a great richness and density to this wine followed by a complex finish that went on and on. Huge fan.

Clear and bright, pale lemon colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium+ intensity aromas of green apple, ripe peaches, orange peel, acacia, honeysuckle, walnut, nutmeg and honey. It's off-dry in the mouth with medium acidity, high alcohol, medium+ body and pronounced intensity flavours of ripe apricots, honeysuckle, walnut, nutmeg and honey. Medium+ finish. It's an outstanding quality wine with a great balance between alcohol and fruit concentration, an outstanding concentration, a decent complexity and a good length finish. Drink now, but can develop more complexity in the next 10+ years.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 1998 Vintage, A 15 Year Retrospective: Light golden in color and nice but subdued nose of lemon and slight oak, a touch of oiliness on the palate and classic Rousanne richness but seemed a bit closed this night, with a clipped finish.

Tasted at the new York Wine Experience 2013 Fragrant, still reticent nose.Intenser on palate, touch of oak but otherwise very soft. Complete anti-thesis from a Riesling or a White Burgundy Chard. insofar as it has no acidity as a back-bone for the aging process. Probably needs time. But, based on my recent experience with a bottle from this producer which was gone on opening it, do not wait more than 10 years

Served on a "filet cubain" -a dish made of sole and mushrooms introduced by my grand-father decades ago at Prunier, Paris- this Beaucastel was a perfect fit for its natural flavors, woodiness, freshness and delicate acidity. Extremely well built up and onctuous, this true beauty marries perfectly with this dish and is a brilliant example of Roussanne at his greatest. Interestingly, the final displays some notes of grilled marshmallows...just saying.

This “Vieilles Vignes” cuvee is produced in a small quantity entirely from Roussanne vines of at least 65 years of age. Intense yellow color, the wine has a reductive nose. It doesn’t have the rich aromas of the regular Chateauneuf du pape white on the nose for now. There is good concentration on the palate, but the wine still seems to be very closed at this stage. It shows good freshness and elegance, but needs a few more years to develop and open up. Medium to long finish. (90/100)

Clear light golden straw full aromatic intoxicating honeysuckle white pepper white flowers with tongues of yellow a brilliant bright bouquet (Ceres detects buttery notes in scent where Bacchus only gets at taste) mouthfeel fabulous enveloping palette butterscotch warm round coating with long finish extraordinary balance finesse beautiful heat with Patina of new oak rusticity; we wish we could drink this at least once a week through the the summer thank you Roussane cheers! Love it cherish it when it's on and in good condition its stellar and unmatched. Ate with grilled sardines and salad.

Well made, with tons of fruit, long finish, and round mouth feel. A bit of bitter on finish (only "supertasters" would notice).

DRC Tasting Group: Rhone Night (Wild Ginger, Seattle, WA): Tasted blind. Tropical fruit and pineapple. Rich, white peach, tropical fruit and mango on the body, with a nice bit of minerals to balance it out. Lovely and soft, with long length and good acidity.

Saturday Skeels BBQ: Very consistent, my ~6th bottle of this wine in the last month. Very smooth with rich old-vine taste, some wood aroma with lemon curd, wax and honey. I've enjoyed this with sushi and it was an excellent match for cerviche here. Very popular. Popped and poured chilled.

Tasted at the new York Wine Experience 2013
Fragrant, still reticent nose.Intenser on palate, touch of oak but otherwise very soft.
