Asian Dinner with Mostly Riesling and Chenin (Irene's House, St. Paul): Very pale almost clear color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. This suffered being flighted next to a most ambitious '13 Fritz Haag BJS. This came off particularly flat and simple. Apple, fusil, light body, thin middle, mineral dominant, finishes quite dry.

Slatey appley aroma. Slightly honeyed taste. A good wine but suffers a bit from a lack of brightness. Still I'm happy to quaff it down with Easter dinner of ham, potato salad, asparagus etc

AiS Assisi: Brilliant golden yellow. A bit closed at the beginning with more hydrocarbon notes than tropical fruit. Anyway "greasy", with a mineral background. Coherent at taste. Drunk too warm, acidity and minerality being lowered.

#12-13, 9% abv. Very pale colour. Slightly spicy nose, with some green apple aromas as well and if you try very hard, a bit of a herbaceous note. The palate is very restrained, and this is one of the most restrained '12s I've tasted so far. Not to worry -- this is still loaded with fruit and acid. I think it's the intense minerality that tames the beast. Strangely enough there's a bit of a chalky texture to this wine. A light hand was used to make this wine; it's clear as crystal (pun intended). Lovely.

Straw colored. Some apple, pear and spice. a bit herbal with some minerality, I did get a bit of petrol. I liked it, but not as much as the analogous wine from Christoffel.

Pop and pour. Pale golden color. Nose of citrus, apple, and pear. Surprisingly little petrol. On the palate tightly coiled with green apple, pear, and citrus rind. Decent acidity provides some lift. Great value. Hold for a few years.

Light straw Yellow, with Golden reflex. Brilliant. Intense complex and fine at nose: Mainly fruity: Banana, Pineapple, pear, then mineral and mediterrean wood (Mirt). Off dry, rounded, well balanced by acidity and minerality. Intense, persistent and fine.

Classic nose of sweet lime and strawberry, brown spice (cumin & nutmeg), powdered stone and flint. Very pristine and clear, racy and spicy. This enters softer (not soft) with lime, honey and spice. The palate isn't resolved yet - its got sweet lime, spice and minerals, but also has bitter peach pit extract that comes out in the end palate and the finish. I like this, but it seems to lie somewhere between the sweet spots of the light and ethereal Kabinetts and the burning and electric Urgluck. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15-15.5/20.

This has a delicate, herby bouquet of tarragon, lemon verbena, quince, lime. Reminiscent of a NZ sauvignon blanc. Young, but gregarious. Very easy to drink with good limey tartness. Deft balance, lacy mouth feel, good length. Some bitterness detracts, like too much lemon zest. A bit foursquare today, but this will certainly improve. Great QPR.

Spicy, herbal tea, and a lanolin mouthfeel glide lightly with a mere 9% ABV. Like it was made for Asian fusion food. Very nice.

Pretty mature for its age. Tasty and easy to consume. May have some upside, but there should be no reservations about enjoying as is.

AP 19
NOSE > Pink-grapefruit, lanolin, grape-blossom, lime-flesh/oil, red-cherry, ginger, & tart-apricot.
Very fresh & lively.
PALATE > Lime-flesh, pink-grapefruit, quinine, lime/green-citrus zest/pith, red & Morello- cherry.
Beautifully ripe, medium+ acidity - seemingly high tartaric %.
Hint of gingery, wild, exotic, citrus-fruit/zest/wild-cherry, fruit-imbued bitterness.
Full-ish, tight, & full of freshness & life. Prototypical Classic Mosel.
Merkelbach really raised their game in shy-bearing '10 & '12.
