Houston Northern Rhone Blowout: Thankfully, this bottle was in perfect shape. Considerable evolution compared to the current release, but it has held together nicely, lots of interest, developing a little bit of nattiness still with plenty of red to blue fruit. This is drinking delightfully today.

Based on the other notes, this would appear to be a bad bottle. A bit sherried, lacking in fruit. Some caramel but significantly more advanced than I was expecting. Drinkable though, and since it’s Prevost we did. I’ve had the 12 Climax which was in far better shape. Hopefully just an off bottle..

Complex autolytic yeasty nose with ripe pear/apple, cream and a subtle herbal leafiness. Lovely texture, rich but very fresh, very discreet fine mousse. Intense and acidic but with a balancing roundness on the palate, finishes with terrific energy, drive and length. Superb.

A lovely, dry Champagne with good ripe, intense golden fruits and aged flavors of caramel and spice. Best right out of the bottle and it became very caramel-driven late suggesting full maturity so drink up. Ordered off the list at Chambers, NYC.

Shockingly tight. Bright acidity, deeply concentrated red apple, some berry, and yeast. Even with a good amount of air and warmth this remained a bit austere. More powerful mousse than expected. Not the best Beguines bottle I've had. Will certainly wait a few years before opening my other bottle.

A lost Friday afternoon gathering – how to semi cheat in a blind tasting (Black Salt, Washington DC): Expressive nose displaying delicious white fruit, pear, apple, lanoline, marzipan, sweet spices and wet stone. Beautifully integrated palate, finely layered white fruit, sweet and generous, medium fine generous mousse, medium acidity, strong mineral, and a long sweet white fruit driven finish. This is simply delicious. The style reminds me Cedric Bouchard.

Very good>Excellent Champagne that also happens to be in an ideal place just now. To my palate, there's a certain charisma that the combination of perfectly mature fruit + sense of place + long finish exudes that makes it pretty much irresistible. That said, there's still plenty of time in hand, too. Really memorable. highly recommended+

First bottle from Prevost and I was impressed; the nose was complex and soil driven with red fruits underlying. There was also lovely floral and a slight oxidative note of honeyed almonds. This smells like a wine of interest and not a straight forward Champagne! The palate is suave and rich, yet has lots of energy and depth. A lingering finish of red apple and stony soil. Really enjoyed this. Probably not for everyone as it is certainly different, but it is definitely for me.

Quite powerful fruit. I always find these sort of in-between red/yellow fruits in these wines, like pomegranite and red apple, in addition to impressions of stonefruit and citrus like pomelo. Acidity and minerality is great here. I imagine that this has some good life ahead of it yet.

Wow, another beautiful bottle of J. Prevost Les Beguines.... At the beginning of the evening explosive, notes of ripe yellow and small red fruit, some spices, also minerality, brioche and yeasty notes. At the end of the evening it has toned down massively, with notes of Williams pear, some sweet spices, white flowers, but still some brioche notes. It‘s medium-full bodied, with beautifully creamy but not overly aggressive bubbles, medium-high acidity, beautiful minerality and just very high overall class. Long finish with a touch of bitterness. I love these wines...

Prevost LC12 Another great work from Jerome Prevost and we are lucky to find another LC12 bottle. I always wonder how his wine can age over longer time but it is getting harder to find the older LC bottles. On the nose, grapefruits, white flowers, light mint sensation, on the palate, precise and balanced acidity with white peach, lemon, grapefruits and minerals, finish was super fresh and long.

I haven’t tasted the 2012 based Les Béguines in almost 3 years but another beautiful showing of this great bottle. It has toned down a little, but showing more elegance and finesse but a little less opulence than at the beginning. Complex Notes of green apples, dried pear, mint, some spices, a touch of brioche and some smokey minerality. It's medium-full bodied with super fine mousse, creamy texture but still medium-high acidity cutting through the richness. Long finish. Excellent! This is probably as good as Pinot Meunier gets. Fascinating.

we agreed that the spritz is soft enough to be enjoyed right upon opening (not too vigorous). The wine didn't actually change all that much - including the bit leftover for day 2. But while it didn't move much, we kept noticing more and more different layers. both savory and sweet - reminded me of a few green herbs like epazote or (maybe because I just planted some) cuban oregano... both sweet and savory. clearly chard-driven but not so tropical - a bit of green apple, a bit of cardamom. <EDIT: 100% pinot meunier, but leaving note intact because it's a useful reference point for me> perfect weight.

Pleasingly energetic if young and somewhat closed, much less evolved than a bottle drunk in Paris a few months ago. Shows a little oaky, which is curious since I don't believe this wine sees any new wood. If I had more I'd be inclined to hold 1 year, or perhaps more.

Wow what a beautiful Champagne! Elegant and complex nose of freshly cut green apples, ripe pear, some spices, a touch of brioche, minerality and some honey. Similar notes on the palate, also some mint and herbs. It's medium-full bodied with super fine mousse, almost creamy texture but a razor sharp acidity providing a beautiful counterpoint to the richness. Long finish. I don't have any experience with the aging of this wine but my best guess would be that it's just at the beginning of its drinking window and might develop even more complexity with some bottle age. LC12 is very young, but saying that still an enjoyable drop. I was tempted to try it at a restaurant after having a tour of their cellar and talking about Jerome Prevost with the sommelier. Plus I thought why not try and get a feel for when I should open my bottles at home, I would revisit in say 2-3 years.
It is a razor sharp finessed and dry wine, slightly darker hue than expected for its young age. While it comes across as delicate with a nose of wild flowers, the pinot meunier gives a depth and body to the wine (pairs well with cuisine), a fine balanced acidity gives a wonderful freshness.

LC12 is surely too young, but I was tempted by a restaurant list. Shows a lot of class at first, but goes through several phases in the course of the night.
At its finest it's a detailed, precise and very pretty champagne showing both high toned floral notes and lavender combined with a yeasty, rich body. It had both a pretty "exotic fruit and vanilla phase" and a more "bone dry and bland/muted" phase. The last couple of glasses had a wonderful lime driven quality that I liked.
Very good now with potential to be excellent in five plus years.

Dots and Bubbles with the Trait-d-union (Sydney, Australia): Very lifted and bright nose with grapefruit, ozone, sea spray, pear and a light white floral touch. The palate is similar, with brilliant purity and spark. Driven, with great length and acidity - this wine makes it obvious why this producer is so sought after and I wish I could encounter it more often! This 2012 was a notch up on the 2011 I tried late last year.

Extremely fine bubbles. Elegant profile. Needs time time in bottle to settle and develop but promising start. Revisit in year plus.
