Bought from a local wine shop in 2015. I am not a great pinot lover but this was an excellent example of west coast (I almost wrote California) pinot noir. When I first decanted it, I sighed because I got that pinot funk aroma that I do not like, which has been described by others as everything from sulphur to coca cola. However, within 15-30 minutes in the decanter, it was gone and the wine started to take on weight. Moderate red fruit and balancing acidity. Very smooth, almost elegant. Not a wine to drink with grilled porterhouse, but a very good accompaniment to a pork roast or roast chicken.
My guess is that it needs another 4 years to reach its peak. We are too quick to drink West coast pinot and then we complain that it is not as good as a GC Burg. Patience is rewarded in this case.

Exceeded expectations. Had listed another bottle of this for sale just to reduce my collection, but ended up popping this for home consumption to see what it was like and am glad I did. Balanced WV Pinot Noir, but unfortunately I don’t recall specifics.

Rest of bottle opened for Easter. Drank with seared Tuna Steak. Nose of red fruit, faded roses. Dried cherry with hints of strawberries on the palate. Velvety. Med body and finish. IMHO won't get any better and may be on the downslope.

Tasted from magnum. Vibrant, ready to drink from opening. Ripe but not "too" powerful fruit and a smooth mid-palate and finish. Fully mature, and I would open any 750s soon.

This really tasted of grapes to me, and it was a huge contrast to a Kosta Sta. Rita I had recently. This was both good and bad. Good because the fruit was vibrant and not faded, and bad a bit because it was more grape juice flavor than wine. But I had some a day later and this impression faded and was replaced by a more structured wine. Cork on this stained medium magenta and wet/infiltrated a good half inch up. Glad I had now. I think this was ready and should be consumed sooner than later.

This particular bottle was very different than redtooth113’s.Or it could be that, thanks to their advice, we popped and poured. And sure enough this was vivacious with ripe fruit out of the gate. Perfectly stored since release, this evolved in the glass, adding funk and complexity over an hour or two to the smooth, juicy fruit … suggesting tail end of peak but not yet over that hill. Drink now-2023, no decant.

Pale ruby, restrained nose of dark berries and herbaceous tones. Not particularly balanced or elegant. Still tannic and biting on the finish. Palette of berries but dominated by cooking herbs (sage, oregano, rosemary). I may have waited too long and the fruit has dwindled, although still plenty tannic. I have another one, but I don’t think I’m going to wait too long. Can't say I'm eager to open another one though.

One hour decant. That seemed just right as wine did not improve (or lose its best notes) over the course of dinner. A lighter style Pinot, with typical cherry cola notes, medium finish.

IMO previous bottles 2-3 years ago were substantially better. Opening/tasted as potential Thanksgiving paring. Very muted (better on Day 3 but still not exciting). Audibled to serving Aubert '16 Sonoma Coast PN.

PnP and drank over 2 hours. No detailed notes. Nearly opaque ruby color; super-dense for a Pinot. Cranberry, with raspberry and strawberry hints. Super long finish. Just the right amount of spice for me. Delicious.

Standard Oregon Pinot nose. First night the palate is a bit reserved. Left half the bottle in fridge. Forgot. Opened it on day three and it had blossomed into much more interesting. Savory seven springs spice.

Tart medium cherry and penetrating herbaceous/sage profile. Fruit becomes increasingly dark and very drying with air. Disappointing, 1 btl left for near-term consumption.

Two hour decant. Dark ruby red with cherry and some heat on the nose. Layers of fruit dominated by cherry with a medium long finish. Delicious and complex. A remarkable improvement from my last bottle July/18 rated @80.

Sour cherry, tart, acidic and green. Not a pleasurable drink at this stage, only enjoyable with food (chicken sausage tonight). Wish I had saved a bottle of La Source to compare.

Quickie sip at NVNA. Aired in bottle 3 hours beforehand already. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of sour red cherries, strawberries, brambly spice. Some smokiness and darker fruit with more air. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity (but not exactly Burgundian kind of high), medium+ alcohol (13.9%), supple medium tannins that take on some increased structure with more air, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sour red cherries, strawberries, cranberries, sweet spices, brambly bits of earth. Smoke and darker cherry liqueur with air. Long finish. Very good quality. Not obviously New World, neither is it Burgundian. But a nice Pinot Noir anyway! Could develop a bit more over the next 3-4 years. Certainly good drinking now already with some air.

Same as August bottle. Pleasantly aged but relatively uninteresting at this stage. Wonder if setting these aside for a couple of years would yield an attractively aged curiosity. Not how I like to approach and cellar wine.

A bit of pleasant brett funk on first open - very mild. Good deep red berry fruit with evident acids. This is very nice and still has a few years of upside ahead. I wish I had more.

Pleasantly surprised. Decanted for two hours. Pale ruby in glass with slight clear rim. Muted nose of plums and earth. Red/blue fruits with soft tannins, a slight hint of bitterness, and nice acidity in the mid-palate. Enormously long and pleasant finish.

An elegant, feminine pinot, similar in style to Volnay. Soft, pretty flavors of red fruits and wet earth with floral overtones and accents of cinnamon, white pepper, and mint. Gentle on the tongue. No explosions, little excitement, but I'll take it because I like this style of pinot.

Needs about a one hour decant before it opens up. Dark berry, white pepper nose. Flavor was mostly blackberry, black cherry, with lower acidity than I normally associate with Oregon Pinots. The wine oddly vacillates between nicely toasted French oak to damp wood, almost sip to sip. Seems to go from wow this is really special, to there is something a little off here? Last sip seemed great. We drank this both before and with brined Berkshire tomahawk rib chops, seemed to do better with food, but I was expecting this to be a better wine overall. I did not buy this winery direct, but it has been in my cellar since the year of release. I think its probably best to drink these up sooner than later. Cheers!

Still good fruit. Aromas of earth and blackberries. Served with a chicken and mushroom dish with a sauce made from the wine and it was a great match. I estimate another 2 years of life left.

Don’t know what to say. I really expected more. Or maybe different. Thought fruit was lacking. Other earthy flavors and secondary characteristics are there but without much fruit thought it was underwhelming. Is well integrated and balanced.
Maybe this is an intellectual wine? Drink it when you want to sit and think about it and analayze flavors, etc. Dont open it for casual drinking. Will probably be lost on many of your friends

well integrated. lost a little freshness since the last bottle but remains fairly racy with nice melange of fruit and savory. Not sure if this has the distance but it's still quite good now.

Another year and a half later, the wine keeps on plugging away. It’s nearly fully integrated for my palate and yet, still not much in the way of secondary development. The structure is nearly seamless and resolved, but the flavor profile remains somewhat primary if that makes sense. It remains to the savory side with sous bois and a hint of raspberry

Consumed a few years back, but my recollection of this wine was it had a wonderful pinot profile distinctive to Oregon, fruit was present and not intense like California pinot, but flavor included a slightly more menthol taste. It's not quite what I experienced but the effect is almost like a deadening of the tongue similar to what menthol does, and I assume its unique to either the soil site or the grape variety.

Subdued, but present nose. Oregonian in style, but palate was only pleasant and didn;t have the depth of complexity I expected. Maybe the 2012 La Source will provide that.

This was tough to rate, so I'll withhold. Red fruit, mineral, nice aromatics. While good, I just don't think this is ready. This, to me, came across tight and unyielding, but with good fruit and ample structure that will (I believe) make for a better wine in 3+ years.

Wow, what a surprise very nice indeed, and ready to drink now. Notes of redcurrant, cranberries, cherry and frankly I have trouble matching up the flavors. Very well balanced. Strong yet fine well integrated tannins, a modest acid kick, and just enough sweetness not to be sour. Better than many other pinots with similarly good reviews. Still has quite a few years left, I predict.

Medium ruby color, mild aromas of dry brush and forest floor. Flavors of raspberry and black cherry with a nice acidity, medium body, and soft tannin bite that leave you wanting more. Not complicated, but very good nonetheless. 96 by HS may have overstated this, but easy very pleasant drink with this one.

I can see why Raj Parr would want a hand in this vineyard property. The wine has great precision of rich powerful fruit coupled with well pitched acidity, touch of earth. The wine isn't anything super complex but just supremely delicious. Rather than take a risk on a bottle of Village Burgundy I would be more inclined to drink this instead. Drinking great at the moment.

More dense and advanced/melded than bottle last month, could be a taster's conflicting dinner palate issue tonight. Seems more tannic with less dark cherry fruit showing, more baking spice and slightly thinner. 45 min in the carafe seems to help while chicken kabobs influence mitigates.

Discreet aromas of fresh berry fruit, nutmeg, clove and sun-dried tomato. Tight as shit. If you started digging today, you wouldn't get past the first layer until next weekend. Huge complexity, huge potential, great balance of everything. A love affair between restraint & banging ripeness, for lack of better words.

Pretty much a pop and pour. Aromas of strawberry, mushroom, cherry, wet leaves and touch of cranberry. Flavors of bright cherry, strawberry rhubarb, clove, earth and mineral. Ends with a long finish of 35-40 seconds with notes of cherry compote and a pleasant earthiness. This is silky smooth and was drinking great from the first sip. Very elegant and refined but packs a lot of flavor. For the money this was very high quality. Still has a lot of time but this was perfectly stored from release.

Popped and poured, and was quite closed for a while. Did eventually come around a little bit with lots of coaxing and a couple of hours, though never really opened to the depth and complexity that we had hoped for. Moderate aromas and flavors of dark berry and herb. Finish was lackluster. Disappointing given prior bottle notes and all of the other largely positive reviews.

Darker, black/blue fruit on these versus any red cherry or strawberry flavors. Also detect menthol on nose and on the lingering finish. Perfect acid balance. Medium bodied with oak influence, but no rich/vanilla toastiness. 8 left to drink over next 2 yrs.

A difference of opinion - I thought it was about a 93 - very nicely integrated, drinking beautifully at the moment, smooth and elegant from nose to finish. My wife on the other hand rates it an 89 because it lacked really definable depths of taste characteristics, i.e. it was almost too smooth and seamless for her. In the end, we both enjoyed this wine immensely. I would drink it again in a hearbeat, if I had any more of it.

Vinturi aerated and decanted for 90 minutes. Pleasant nose of black cherry and some plum. Noticeable heat from the 14% alcohol. Delicate cherry notes on the palate, thin mouthfeel , slightly drying with a short finish. An underwhelming effort with a poor QPR. How to handle the remaining 5 bottles? Perhaps even more aeration.

I agree with a recent posting. It is past its prime. I've been enjoying a six pack I bought several years ago. About six months ago I noticed a difference, and it didn't hold up on the second day. Yesterday I opened the last bottle, and it is in a declining state. Still drinkable, but doesn't compare to the great quality from a year ago.

Slow ox'd for 30 minutes. Deep garnet and clear. The nose is wonderful - cherry, earth, nutmeg and green pepper. In the mouth, more cherry, with orange peel and spice. Silky, resolved tannins. But it lacks acid and energy, causing it to really fade mid-palate. Not sure these 2012's are built for much past 10 years. Drink now - 2022.

My last bottle... my last review.... Color is still that deepest of Pinot extractions..the cork is Pinot night tinged...not typical of paler Pinot corks... Nose is all ripe strawberry, damp rich earth, very slight green pepper, some herbal spice...a complex melange of aromas... On the tongue with a good swwoorsh of air..reveals a wonderful strawberry, tart blueberry, spice...that coats the tongue and inside cheeks with that fruit,,acidic,,slight earth, wonderful ness that is this wine.... simply great!

Refined, balanced and remarkably complex. Juicy red cherry, plum, spring flowers, char, cooling mint, and spices. This is a fantastic Oregon pinot drinking perfectly right now. Interestingly, it shared many characteristics with the 2007 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide that followed it.

Complex wine. Strawberry and strawberry bramble bush make a rustic yet approachable wine that begs for you to go back for another swig. Classic Burgundian with an edge towards austerity and reserved red fruits coupled with tons of wet rocks and minerals. A hint of orange peel and lilac. Lots of acidity leaves pallet refreshed not tired. Tannins hold up to acids making it perfectly balanced.
Everytime you think this might be too much of something, it backs off and offers a gush of something else: salted butter; apothecary; vibrant, salacious blackberry and currant fruit; blue ballpoint pen and desert earth; and juicy, spicy weedy stems; bbq rub and smoke; then after all that, how gently it lands.
At this age almost a medium plus body. Rainer cherries, cola, dark chocolate, and minerals. Delicate yet full and my idea or a complete wine. Should peak in the next year or so.

A lighter style of pinot, reasonably juicy, not over the top acidity, nice berry flavors, seems like raspberry but toned down in intensity. Good structure and wondering how this will further develop. Balance between fruit and acidity is really close to equilibrium, with neither pushing the other out of the way.

Dark crimson in color, this wine reveals intense and focused wild cherry, black plum, pepper and raspberry on the nose. The mouth feel brought more dark fruits and hints of pomegranate. The finish was medium in length and surprisingly open. 13.9% abv.

Popped 'n poured in a restaurant. Really enjoyed this. My friends right away guessed it wasn't a CA Pinot. It seems to sit in a nice place between CA and Burgundy. A lot of fruit, but not overkill. I would I guessed this was a sonoma pinot. Vivid red. Spicy red fruit on the nose. Zesty on the palate with rich, slightly bitter red and black fruits (almost preserved), tobacco, flowers and spices with sweet citric oranges balancing things out on the back. There is definitely a lot here and I like it but it feels a bit out of balance and definitely not the kind of pinot I search out (I like em leaner and earthier). Very happy to have it in my glass but, at $48, I will not be racing back.

Anniversary dinner at El Gaucho. My second bottle was so much better than my first. Dark raspberries and such a silky mouthful. Everything in this wine is coming together. I still think I will wait a couple years on my last bottle.
Tasty, but too big (not really the body, but in the extent of the fruit profile). Super dark purple, very dark fruit on the palate dominates. Need to tone this down and let Oregon come through.

Beautiful fruit and nice, satiny mouthfeel. Ripeness of the fruit was spot on - ripe without being sweet. I found the fruit more towards ripe dark red raspberry and plum than cranberry. If there is a nit, it was somewhat warm on the backend. Overall, however, very nice.

I'm not a pinot guy, especially if I haven't tasted before buying. I bought this on a strong recommendation, which seemed justified when this got rated #3 on WS Top 100. It was good, but whatever it was that the pros got out of, I didn't see it. Had with Thanksgiving dinner.
At a dinner for my wine group, we had the following (in order), 2013 Domaine Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc, 2012 Evening Land Pinot Noir – Seven Springs Vineyard, 2010 Martinelli Bondi Home Ranch Pinot Noir, 2012 The Farm Winery "Touchy Feely", 2012 Calder Syrah Truchard Vineyard Napa and the 2011 Paul Jaboulet Aine Cornas Domaine de Saint Pierre. All the wines were opened at least 45 minutes before we poured the first one, they were all capped with measured pourers.
This was probably the WOTN! We had it right before the Martinelli and the comparison was eye opening. Leaner, and much more acidic that the M. It was enjoyed by everyone! Floral notes and a light red color, plus a great nose.

Color is deep garnet...much more so than most pinot's...medium viscosity... Nose is clean, well delineated, black cherry , black raspberry, some very light earth..some vanilla,..and wood..nose has a good amount of complexity that transcends my olfactory abilities... Great mouth feel with vibrant fruit and medium acidity...somewhat drying for a Pinot but in a seriously good way... I think this is a fabulous Pinot that is a bit young still, can't wait for future tastings...

Felt the heat on this at first, but some of it subsided after some air. Bigger wine in a very ripe style, reminiscent of a heavier Cali pinot, but didn't have any of the confected traits. Noticeably bigger than the 2010 and 2011. Plenty of fruit in this wine but I felt it lacked some of the acidity I am used to from this past vintages. Still a good wine, nonetheless. Just felt a little unbalanced for my tastes. Lots going on though, am curious how time will change this wine. Would like to try to side-by-side with a La Source.

I didn't enjoy this bottle as much as I enjoyed my previous 2 bottles of this. It was a little flabby, and less acidic than I remember it. More like some of the heavy Pinots I had from California. Still pretty good, but just not what I was expecting.

Clear ruby core with a soft pink rim. The nose is an explosion of fruit and flowers that overwhelms the senses, but manages at the same time to convey a sweet and delicate disposition. I'm finding ripe strawberries and raspberries, dried rose petals, damp forest floor and nuances of clove and anise. The fruit flavors carry over to the palate along with cola and more exotic spices. Ethereal and feminine, yet possesses remarkable precision and depth. A marvelous achievement.

Drinking beautifully, nose and flavors smack in the middle between red and blue/black berry flavors, impeccably balanced, flawlessly crafted and very easy drinking. Wonder how this will evolve bit is so good this young, why wait!
Very opaque and dark in color for a Pinot Noir. Fabulous aromas of ripe berries, sous bois, spice and a touch of vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied and very rich and velvety in texture. There's plenty of delicious, tart, dark cherry and pomegranate fruit character to this, along with a very earthy component that persists straight through to the finish. Well-balanced, with a moderate acidity. Shows excellent depth and intensity on the mid-palate. Finishes long, with lots of tangy fruit, grippy tannins and a chalky minerality. Very nice indeed - but slightly disappointing, given the 96 point score from WS. Just didn't seem especially complex. Should improve a bit with some cellar time, but was not quite the great wine we were expecting. 50+5+13+16+8=92

Quite likely the most Burgundian styled Oregon Pinot Noir I have tasted. The wine features a charmingly rustic bouquet of earth, loam, ash, pepper, and deciduous forest floor. Fruit plays second fiddle to terroir here, which makes for a memorable wine. The taste profile features mushroom medley, venison jerky, herbs, assorted teas, autumnal leaves, compost pile, and barnyard. Silky, suave, yet bold mouthfeel, complex acids deliver excellent lift and depth. The middle and back feature exceptional balance as they transition to an earthy finish that does not quit. The wine's earthy profile puts the mind to many shades of brown and tan. It should evolve through 2025 and deliver pleasure through 2035+.

Medium dark ruby color. Cocoa, cinnamon and unripe dark blackberry on the nose. Medium grain tannin that is still pronounced (after 2 hrs decant) with nice acid backbone that both suggest very good aging potential. Loads of dark fruit, primarily blackberry, bakers chocolate, and dark earthy undertones, just aching to get through the tannin, this is a big aging Pinot. This wine is many years out, I rate it for what it will be not what it is, I think WS got it right for score. I won't touch this again until 2018. I would guess drinking range from 2018 - 2025.

ok. I get it now, I get it. This was my second bottle and it was beautiful - showed head and shoulders better than the one I had a few months back. The aroma was expansive, with loads of cheese rind, mushrooms, truffle and earth, with more subtle notes of orange blossom and baking spice. It had bright red fruit on the palate with balanced sugar and acidity with a medium length finish and soft tannins. The body wasn't as typically thin as some Oregon pinots I'm familiar with. A very seductive wine with room to grow. I found the profile much more earthy and less fruity than some of the other TNs
I think most of the difference was the tasting environment rather than bottle variation. Easier to enjoy in a quiet, well aerated space than a busy restaurant

This deep ruby Pinot was reassessed a few months after my initial tasting 6/14/2015, and I'm happy to report that my current impressions are confirmatory. It is packed with red and black fruit on both the nose and palate, accented by lavender, orange zest, spice and earth. Medium-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (13.9%) and with medium-weight, supple tannins, it adds depth in the middle and closes with impressive length. Very Burgundian, very distinguished...this wine is a "poster child" which speaks to the quality of Oregon Pinot Noir! Drink now-2022.

Orange peel, hoisin sauce and minerals on bouquet. Palette is soft dried rose petals with a tart strawberry note. Needs an hour to decant, not as delicate, more acidity than I expected.

I don't have a lot of experience with Oregon Pinot Noirs, but I really liked this one. Sort of halfway between the fruit bombs of CA and the linear acidity of Burgundy. I really liked it, and even though we popped and poured it, it was drinking well right away. Not sure of the aging potential because of my limited experience with Oregon wines. But I have 9 bottles left and I'll make sure to leave a couple for 5 more years. But I'll also drink a few in the next two years.

Aerated and decanted for about 75 min. before starting. Served around 63 deg F. First things first. Forget about the Spectator 96 point rating. I've found that paying too much attention to such things will only set oneself up for disappointment and detract from the overall experience, which would be a shame.
Found the Seven Springs pinot to be nicely concentrated, with dominant notes of red & black cherries, baking spices, and a little bit of earthiness underneath it all. Medium fullness on the palette, which lends a sense of class to this wine that you won't find with many of the lighter pinots. Right now, its profile is rather fruit driven (i.e. "new world"), but that may change over time as the fruit fades and the earthy components move more to the front. This wine got better in the glass over two hours so definitely decant this one for an hour or two before getting started.
This was good, but not as as good as some of these reviews have indicated. It is indeed a layered wine with notes of violet, rose petal, bright cherry, and an earthy underpinning; however, this particular bottle was tight, quite closed. Although a half hour in the glass brought some life out of her, I'm looking for a bigger nose or more punch on the palate for classic range scores. To me this is a very good, stereotypical oregon pinot. I plan to hold my other bottle for several years.

Beautiful color, deep crimson. Unusually dark for Willamette style pinot, especially after taking in the austere nose. Right off the bat I'm thinking old world inspired. Although prominent, the dark fruit seems to be taking more of a back seat to the musty barrel notes, as well as smoked meats and violets. On the palette, the wine carries a reductive quality that adds to the complexity, and confirms the old world homage. Tannins are silky and acid is appealing. I will cellar my other bottles for a couple of years to let the profile work itself out, but recommend cracking a bottle (if you have multiple) to see for yourself, as this wine is noteworthy for its distinctive character.

Dark purple. Intense aromas of black berry and cherry. Viscous mouth feel and intense flavors of dark berries and black cherry. Long intense finish. A real crowd pleaser. I worry a little about the aging potential as acidity and structure may be a bit lacking, but it really is delicious now.

Dark crimson in color, this wine reveals intense and focused wild cherry, black plum, pepper and raspberry on the nose. The mouth feel brought more dark fruits and hints of pomegranate. The finish was medium in length and surprisingly open.
Purchased for $50US, this is a beautiful offering that leans towards the feminine side with its soft palate and easy going finish. A delicious wine.

I was totally surprised by this. Much more complex, especially aromatically than I had expected from an Oregon pinot. This could have passed for a Grand Cru burgundy easily. With air the rich flavors gave way to tannin, but the fruit remained. Excellent and I'm glad I have another.

decanted and drank w Mike, nice 89-90. There was about 1/3 of the bottle left in the decanter over night. I expected that the wine had probably deteriorated but was very pleased when we finished the wine. Big rich red fruit, luscious, I will give it alot more time before drinking my next bottle

Raspberry skin color. Very warm and inviting aromas of raspberry and canned pear syrup (this seems out of place, but there it is). Seamless, silky entry. Raspberries lead the way, but there is some counterpoint between sweet tart candy and Red Vines licorice - sweet versus tart. Nice cut on the finish. This is close to classic. Fantastic. 94

Gorgeous, ripe cherry and raspberry fruit framed by earth, sweet florals, exotic spice and the slightest hint of oak. It was seamless and silky on the palate with brilliant red fruit, hinting at herbs with notes of spiced orange and minerality. The finish was medium in length, show poise with refreshing acidity giving life to notes of tart cherry. This was stunning, a wine of beautiful balance which provides a real sophisticated rendition of Oregon Pinot Noir .

This deep ruby wine is yet another spectacular expression of Oregon's legendary 2012 vintage. It is packed with red and black fruit on both the nose and palate, accented by lavender potpourri, orange peel, anise and earth. Medium-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (13.9%) and with medium-weight, supple tannins, it builds in the middle and closes very long. With this offering, Evening Land has produced a structured, classic-quality Pinot which is worthy of a search. It is remarkable to think that this wine may actually merit an even higher score in the future! Drink now-2022.

Really enjoyed this last night - I think it was actually better without the decant (15 minutes in the glass and it was killing it!). I'm admittedly more of a Santa Rita Hills pinot drinker and this does not have the pepper or kick of that style, but it has tons of nuance and layers of red fruit that really make this quite an experience to drink.

A bit muted on the nose, but otherwise similar to prior notes. Poured a half glass and returned to cellar for 2 hours - perhaps would have benefited from a full decant.

This was often a personal favorite vineyard when St Innocent was producing from this source, and this wine certainly didn't disappoint. Black and red berry aromas and flavors with anise and fresh herb aromas and flavors. elegant structure and very good balance. A personal favorite of today's tasting.

Cheers!

Color is still that deepest of Pinot extractions..the cork is Pinot night tinged...not typical of paler Pinot corks...
Nose is all ripe strawberry, damp rich earth, very slight green pepper,
some herbal spice...a complex melange of aromas...
On the tongue with a good swwoorsh of air..reveals a wonderful strawberry, tart blueberry, spice...that coats the tongue and inside cheeks with that fruit,,acidic,,slight earth, wonderful ness that is this wine.... simply great!

A lighter style of pinot, reasonably juicy, not over the top acidity, nice berry flavors, seems like raspberry but toned down in intensity. Good structure and wondering how this will further develop. Balance between fruit and acidity is really close to equilibrium, with neither pushing the other out of the way.

At a dinner for my wine group, we had the following (in order), 2013 Domaine Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc, 2012 Evening Land Pinot Noir – Seven Springs Vineyard,
2010 Martinelli Bondi Home Ranch Pinot Noir, 2012 The Farm Winery "Touchy Feely", 2012 Calder Syrah Truchard Vineyard Napa and the 2011 Paul Jaboulet Aine Cornas Domaine de Saint Pierre.

Similar to the previous bottle I had in December. Popped and poured at a group dinner. This was a big hit. Not an overpowering Pinot Noir, but more balanced between fruit, acid and mouth feel.

World of Pinot Noir Grand Tasting (Bacara - Goleta CA): Tasting, brief note. This was often a personal favorite vineyard when St Innocent was producing from this source, and this wine certainly didn't disappoint. Black and red berry aromas and flavors with anise and fresh herb aromas and flavors. elegant structure and very good balance. A personal favorite of today's tasting.
