A wine of two parts, this opened pale green gold with a reserved nose of green apples, lemon rind and limestone and a palate, though very pure and nicely balanced, that seemed to lack drive and weight. The remaining half decanted into a 375ml bottle and corked for 2 nights was a different wine with a more complex nose with pineapple and lime touches and a palate with a lovely line of pine-lime splice fruit on a background of apple, lemon zest, white nectarine and limestone. There was terrific length and grip in addition with terrific purity. The conclusion is that under Diam this wine really needs another 7-10 years to develop the full colours of a great Les Clos.

2014 Burgundy 10years on, tasted blind: Light yellow, green hue. True to the Fèvre style, this one is light and grassy. Already in the nose more lime and herbs than lemon with vanilla. Too thin on the palate for my taste. Others liked it more than I did.

This wine’s reviews appears to be vary between pretty good and great. I am drinking from a 375 ML, so perhaps it is a little bit further along than a standard 750. The bottle has now been open for over three hours and has continued to develop remarkably.
I did not decant, given the 375 bottle and nearly 10 years out. But it would’ve helped, as the wine really did not start to unfurl until about three hours in.
Beautiful, concentrated nose of white flowers, stony minerality, some beeswax. The palate is sharp, laser focused and long, with deep concentration, showing lemon curd and more minerality. Really singing.
Overall very good++ to great. It so needs time to open. Suggest a 2-3 hour decant at least. Lots of upside here.

Chevalier Induction Dinner - light, elegant, slightly softer. In balance and nice, but not much depth. For the vintage not a great Les Clos. Also, not sure of the upside here as I was getting a touch of bruised apple at the end of the finish.

Going Up The Country: Suburban Bliss & Wines to Match (Craig & Nita's Place): Pale greenish gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. Clean and precise, youthfully acidic and driven, a classic expression of Les Clos and Fevre. There's tons of brine and swampy goodness, tart lemon-lime, white apple, limestone, with impressive intensity and length. In stark contrast to the maturity and broad expression of the '05 Raveneau MdT, this is still so youthful, but so, so good! 94+ to 95pts.

Superbly fresh both colour and taste. Classic oyster and sea salt meets lemon but this somehow integrated into a smooth (i.e. age) hint of honey/sweet spice, slightly viscous evolved wine. It was like youth and age in bewitching harmony - fresh but smooth. All the flavours integrated and balanced over an hour. Many years still in it.

Mostly Giacosa dinner (RPM Italian, Washington D.C.): Medium expressive nose displaying very ripe yellow fruit, lemon curd, baked apple, honeysuckle, honey, spicy spices and mineral. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated ripe yellow fruit, sweet, dense and deeply toned, bright acidity, medium mineral, and a medium to long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with honey at the end. With air, it gets fresher and more precise, starting to show fresh lemon. It is sort of unfair to be served next to the 07 Carillon BBM.

No notes taken. This is not yet there. A bit charmless, a bit acidic and only hinting at the aromatic complexity that might be there. Maybe a long decant would have changed things (this was pnp).
Recent purchase. Good color. Looks like the Diam is doing its job. This is pristine. The nose is stunning - light and pure and classic with a sneaky potency. Iodine, Green, mint, herbs, oyster shells, minerals, hints of lemon or lime. Very aristocratic. Sharp and urgent and classic. Palate is sharp and classic like the nose with lots of minerality, shells and green. Great cut. As we drive into the finish lots of saline minerality comes out - almost overwhelming in the long potent finish. Best bottle of Chablis / white burg I've had in a while. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5+/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.

Tasted double blind. The palate shows nice, layered missing a touch of sharpness but overall quite good. With time its more minerality-driven and fresher. On the downside, the nose had a strange nose which never fully blew off. Without that, this could have been 94 pts. We had this next to the 2002, which had faulty notes too. Overall disappointing performance from Fevre.
TN: Slightly funky nose, asparagus?. On the palate this shows round and warm, with fine lemons, apple, some flowery notes, a touch of minerality which gets more pronounced towards the medium long finish. Some grassy notes too. With more time, the minerality gets more and more intensive, taking the lead. Not funky anymore on the palate. Medium+ precision and overall quite complex but missing the sharpness and piercing acidity of the best white burgundies. But overall balanced and round.
Decanting: Not decanted, followed over three hours with little change. I don‘t think more air would have changed things. I don‘t think this usually needs a long decant.

Tasted next to the 2002 which was unfortunately oxidized. Flintstone, lime flowers, deeply mineral notes of steel. The fruit was mostly citric but showed tropical and white stone fruit accents. A bit of oak flavors. Crisp acidity and precise, clear-cut edges provide for compelling vibrancy. A really refreshing citrus fruit. Great length. In sum, a highly palatable and linear wine, but with limited layers.

Excellent. An inviting nose of citrus, fruit and salt. Over the next two hours it softened a bit but still showing an excellent bright acid base. Not overripe; not too fruit concentrated. A balanced wine. An excellent, clean finish bringing all elements together. Superb.

Justin's bachelor party (Gravitas - Washington, DC): En magnum, medium expressive nose displaying coiled yellow citrus fruit, hint of honey, a hint of sea breeze and steely mineral. Excellent concentration, nicely layered concentrated yellow citrus fruit, dense and focused, bright acidity and strong mineral, and a medium to long concentrated coiled yellow fruit driven finish. Although excellently focused and absolutely correct, it doesn’t express a clear style, i.e. opulent of Raveneau or precision of Dauvissat.

Under Diam this was extremely tight. There’s a whiff of petrol and some green melon and peach. It is deep and complex, with a fine line of minerally acidity. It has length to burn and finishes with a sprinkling of salt.

my note from 6 weeks ago applies perfectly: "92 pts, classic 2014 bottling and now feeling very ready, the intensity has dialed down a bit for this wine and it is now cruising at high altitude, acidity is less vibrant and it goes down really well with or without food, more minerals than citrus at this point (at least for this bottle)... easy drinking on a warm summer day (tho we had in October!)... to be honest, I might have liked the younger experience with this one, maybe just a tad too easy-going?"

From magnum. This was decanted for 4 hours and it wasn't remotely enough; this is a MASSIVE wine. Now under DIAM, there's less risk of the dreaded premox, which is nice, since this is fabulous. The nose is very Chablis - lemon, oyster shell, a bit of herbaciousness. But the palate is huge, and on day one wasn't especially giving. On day two this had more development, with more white fruit coming through, and some of the richness one would expect from grand cru Chablis. However, it's still a very dense wine right now; I would hold this for many years to come. I think Fevre nailed their 14s, and I look forward to drinking more of these.

had three bottles in the racks, drank one a month ago and was very good... then in the last week tried the two others and at first (and even after overnighting them) they seemed almost tainted, but in the end I think this wine is simply shut down hard... I've been trying over the last decade to drink all my white burgs within about 8 years of vintage, but this may be an exception and/or the new cork Fevre has been using may be working to fight pre-mox... anyway, one comment below resonated... wait until '24 or '25 for next bottle, luckily my last 8 are in storage!... wasn't bad per se, just giving nothing

Tasted blind. This was very light and crisp, not much aroma, closed and hard to judge. I put the rest back into the wine fridge for another 6 hours. Very different story then. The aromas really came out with great match stick, lemon, herbs. Nice, complex. A white wine for the long haul. If you own this, I recommend not to open it before 2025.

Mixed Wines at Joan's In Them Park (Joan's in the Park, St. Paul, MN): Pale green color. Drank a glass over 90 minutes. Drank this next to the '07 which had the benefit of seven more years of age. Both are great wines and I have little doubt that the '14 will ultimately surpass the '07. Flashy as it is now with is bursting briny, lemon, limestone nose and palate, very long finish and splendid acidity, it still is primary and a bit coiled up. Great wine. I'm looking forward to this baby in other 3 to 5 years.

good bottle, as I expect from this wine/producer and esp. vintage... classic bright, citrus but with some depth that gave it a little more oomph and little less lift / lightness than I might have expected... my sense is that this a) is a sign of the power of this vintage, and b) will benefit (absent premox) from another year or two of age, but darn good already

A Whiter Shade of Pale: Featuring Killer Chablis (Martina, Mpls): Pale gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. The nose was ahead with the palate gaining speed over the hour. This seemed a bit more coiled and in need of more time. The minerality is there, but I don't get that Fevre earthiness that I look for as a signature. Bold fruit, lemon-lime, tart apple, very tart and coiled, Meyer lemon, brisk with wow length though. As expected, youthful with huge upside. Give this 2 to 4 years. 93+(+)pts.

Green-tinged yellow. A nose of laser focus, with citrus, white flower, and crushed rock notes. On the palate, acidity and minerality wrap citrus flavors in prelude to a concentrated, long finish. The 2014 Les Clos will be an epic Chablis with rest. Drink starting 2022.

La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2014 Vintage Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Quite light color. Fragrant, floral high tones. More body and texture than the Bouguerots, but hardly authoritative feeling Clos. Broad feel with average acidity, some wood, limestone, and lemon. More complexity than power or grip.

Bright green-tinged yellow. Pure, precise nose of lime, white flower, and crushed rock. Penetrating acidity delivers intense minerality and concentrated citrus flavors. Refined and pure yet so powerful and dense. The 2014 Les Clos is going to mature into a powerhouse Chablis. While enjoyable now, this offers little immediate advantage over lesser crus. Let this rest. Drink starting 2022.

Premium Wine Night - Fall 2016: Westchester Wine School (Bar Lees, Mamaroneck, NY): Drank at final WWS tasting of the Fall. Reticent nose shows a bit of citrus and flintiness. Medium bodied, good acidity though not overpowering. Nice salinity to this wine, with a bit of oak in the mix but not too much...This isn't new wood, so no toastiness here. Finish is a bit flabby. Nice chablis overall, and not over-oaked as so many grand crus tend to be.

Straw yellow colour. Minerals on the nose with hints of green apples and limestone. Taste of green apples, grapefruit and lemons with lots of minerals and hints of spices. A superb grand cru that will be even better if kept in the cellar for a couple of years. Has a great potential. Goes well with fish, shellfish or other seafood, preferably grilled or in a creamy sauce. Poultry or white meat, grilled or in creamy sauce is other good combinations.

Tasted after Vaudésir, this shows even more depth and complexity - floral, notes of citrus fruit, spices, minerality, oyster shell. Quite pretty and surprisingly open at this stage.

Superb.

good acidity, with just a touch of ripeness when paired with food. Flinty notes, still relatively lean on the palate, but not overpowering.

93+(+)pts.

Bright green-tinged yellow. Pure, precise nose of lime, white flower, and crushed rock. Penetrating acidity delivers intense minerality and concentrated citrus flavors.
