Still showing some reduction on the nose. Darker fruit with a black cherry core. Rather ripe and plush upon entry—but narrow and firms up with air. Finishes lengthy and a bit spicy adding depth with air. Needs some more time. From 375ml.

Nothing elegant about this wine. It’s powerful and assertive. Takes an hour to open up. Very dark fruited now with the hints of black tea. Drink or hold.

Half bottle. Full ruby. Black fruit and black licorice. Medium weight, solid feel with a strong core of soil and ground coffee at the end. Black fruit, herb, tremendous acidity, and ripe tannins. This was a real pleasure to drink now and has significant potential down the road as well.

Burgundy BBQ (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): In horizontal. Red berries here with subtle, woodsy spice and bright, ferrous textures. Good weight, good balance, good now, even if slightly simple for a great vintage 1er Cru.

Summer BBQ (Chicago, IL): For drinking now, my favourite of the three Sigaut wines. Lovely red fruit, a little riper than average (but that's the vintage), but the perfume is still quite evocative of Chambolle. Not the most complex, but definitely the most enjoyable today.

Youthful and energetic, this has not reached its full maturity but a pleasure to drink now. Red cherries, baking spices, nice acidity. Medium finish. Excellent value in CM.

Dégustation Volnay/Chambolle 2015: Un joli nez floral, avec des petits fruits rouges. Bouche élégante et aérienne, pas le plus profond, mais charmeur et bien équilibré. Bonne longueur, expressif, je l'ai bien aimé. 92+ pts

Nose: [55°] Slightly dulled black cherries, plums and wet black mulch. [59°] Funky earth, the scent of a forest floor where it recently just rained and a bit of smoke. [64°] The oak becomes dry and slightly spiced. With more time, this wet aspect seems to blow off a bit.
Palate: [59°] Similar fruits of plums from the nose and also similarly dulled. Wet earth with a slight funk and damp oak. [64°] Softly spiced oak appears with time and the earth shows better. There is some juiciness that appears with some time as well as some bitter steeped tea.
Attributes: Clear, dark medium ruby. Dry with very little smooth and supple tannin. Light-plus body with medium acidity. Good finish of about 15-17 seconds.
Thoughts: This will need about 1.5-2 hours of air I think for it to gain some momentum.. some. Hard to describe but it had a lot of unpleasant "wetness" on the nose and palate straight from the bottle. The acidity is there but it falls short. It livens up the mid-palate but it goes ghosts on the finish, leaving the wine kinda flat. It seems to be fighting hard to come alive but it's struggling a bit. Maybe time will help.
Other notes: Burgundy glass. Slow-ox'ed in bottle for the duration of consumption of 3 hours.

Elegant perfume, palate rich and powerful. Flavours of dark cherry, thyme and herms. Tannins are quite firm - I'd suggest quite a bit more age (5-8 years)

Overall, feels a bit overdone. Nose is lovely and perfumed, but the wine is just that bit too dark and heavy to embody Chambolle (or even Burgundy?!) - not particularly fine - but will perhaps reward quite a bit more time.

Fruit riche, délicatement fumé, plein en bouche, rond, élégant davantage par sa texture / son toucher de bouche que ses arômes d'un millésime un peu chaud, délicieux

(tasted from 375ml), black fruted but pure and fresh Chambolle nose of violet floral spice, pen ink, cassis, dark raspberry fruits. Very lithe and silky in the mouth, fine grain tannin. This should age on its balance. Would love to try again in 5-8 years. Plenty of charm at the moment. Perhaps darker fruited than other vintages.

2015 Hervé Sigaut Wines (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Deep ruby. Menthol and some funk. Bigger, pungent, black fruited, and slightly brambly. Tart acidity, substantial tannins. Young and pretty rough now. One of the hardest wines to read. It surely needs quite a bit of time and doesn't have the textural harmony of most of the range.

Some Wines from the 2018 La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2015 Burgundy (The Fairmont, San Francisco): Deep ruby. Bright berry fruit, more soil than in the Noirots, very fresh acidity. A prototypical Chambolle in its slight tartness and superb red fruit. I loved this one and would buy it in a second.
