Oh yes, a lovely blanc de blancs. Drank from a Zalto burgundy glass, as recommended from the producer. Perfect acidity for an extra brut, probably due to the malolactic fermentation. Pear and citrus on the nose and palate. Great mouthfeel. Drank during the Oscars. I need more of this wine

This one needed a lot of time in the glass, and honestly was way better day 2. Was quite overwhelming initially. I love the size and opulence of Lassaigne's wine in general, and on the Vignes de Mongueux it strikes the right balance from the first whiff - whereas on the Le Cotet it was initially a bit much. Making it slightly difficult to love immediately. BUT, with time in the glass - woah - what a wine! The wine found its feel, kept the amazing opulence but countered with with freshness and elegance. I can see why Mr. Lassaigne recommends to drink his wines from Burgundy glasses. They really do need the space to unfold. Top wine!

I absolutely loved this champagne. Not sure the dosage, probably higher than my usual sweet spot but this was drinking so nicely, citrus balanced with pear. A touch sweet but honestly not overly so.

Very nice bottle we opened to celebrate the (near) completion or our kitchen remodel, this one is in my wheelhouse. Medium plus body, round, mouth filling, apple, pear, almond paste. Big, persistent mousse.

Base 2018, DG23, I was told by the merchant. Youthful and foamy. took a while to open up and even better on day two. I recommend to decant this in a carafe if you open the 2023 release. Precise palate with citrus, pear, good mouth feel, sappy low dosage finish, very precise, delineated and long, no sugar/brioche kick whatsoever. More Puligny than classic Brut Champagne. For the purists. Would need to add a little more complexity for a higher score though. May be a bit of bottle age could help but unfortunately there is no disgorgement date or back label on the bottle for this, something every non mass-market Cuvée should have.
Single vineyard in Montgueux, old vines. Straw yellow colour. Lightly reductive with white herb flowers and perfume. Good volume and creamy mouthfeel, dry but with just a bit of dosage to hold it together and rathet sharp acidity. Good length.

Found this bottle recently on auction for a very fair price. Code on the label showed it was bottled in 2007 and disgorged in June 2009, so quite a bit of bottle age on this, but it looked to be in very good condition. It also opened up with great fizz.
Nose had quite some freshness to it actually though with typical aged Chardonnay notes as well. Pickled lemon, roasted nuts, bruised apple, butter and some flowers.
The palate on the other hand felt just a tad bit unbalanced and un-integrated. First off there was an extremely distinct note of walnut, which then turned over to a very high acidity coming mainly from citrus fruits and what felt like green grapes and unripe stone fruits. Then it kind of felt like the acidity and freshness disappeared from the palate again and it gave way to bruised apple, pickled lemon, toast, browned butter and the distinct walnut note again with quite high bitterness that also stayed for the finish and aftertaste.
Overall this wasn't bad in any sense, but I feel like this should have been opened maybe 5-10 years ago for a better experience.

Really enjoyed this wine. Golden yellow in the glass. Enticing nose of yeast, bread, pears and apricot. Fine, persistent mousse on the palate. Crisp green apple, pear, more apricot, lingering minerality, not tart but not sweet at all for my palate.

excellent, but perhaps too young. focused green apple and lemon, oxidation does not overtake the freshness or precision of the wine at all, and its hallmark is intensity and concentration. definitely one to seek out. rides the balance between intensity and texture so well

(Blind tasting) Full, mature nose. Smoky. Ripe apple and dark chocolate. Very autolytic. Very toasty. Apricots and orchard fruit. Fullish palate. Toasty and rich. Powerful with good acidic spine. Good grip, albeit a bit short finish. And lackning some intensity and complexity. Taste like a Chablis with bubbles.

Restrained, well put-together wine, with an interesting combination of ripe aromas and flavours and very brisk acidity. Sassafras, a touch of mango and tropical flowers, quite saline, not particularly effervescent. Very serious, almost Calvinist. Think I respect rather than love Lassaigne's wines.

Bottle code 20120714. Per brooklynguy this is the bottling date and not the disgorgement date, so this indicates this release is based on 2011, was bottled in 2012, and disgorged in 2014. I bought this in 2016. OTOH, futronic claims it's simply the disgorgement date. C'est la vie. Regardless, this was delicious. Somewhat austere given the low dosage and limited fruit, but not extreme. Initially some beautiful fresh mandarin/kumquat citrus up front, which faded a bit to reveal an incredibly mineral wine with fruit in the background. Superlatives like purity, transparency come to mind; this felt like drinking liquid essence of rocks. Fascinating and so different from experiences with earlier vintages like 2009, which had an almost decadent sort of orange creamsicle fruit up front.

Almost rancio initially. It really marks more of a solera sort of wine though the notes I see only claim 10% reserve wines. Also some cream and wood on the nose. That solera effect helps make this very vinous on the palate. Good drive and nice texture, particularly towards the finish. I could find not good evidence of disgorgement but given this is supposed to be a base 2015 wine I would think its within the last two years. Or maybe further back if its really 90% vintage. I'd like that wood to integrate a bit more but overall this is a wine of strong skill. I'm guessing in a better vintage its a good deal better with some more fruit oomph.

The palate reveals apple, lemon oils, brioche and lightly oxidative flavors. Initially quite linear. Seemed a touch austere at first, but the wine unfurls with some air. High- acidity and a refined mousse. Comes off as fairly vinous. Quite good now and should improve with short term aging.
Disgorged 3/9/20.

Too musty for my preference. Texturally nice with great acidity and clean fruit but too much old basement/wild game for me. Opened for a few hours and though the funk dissipated it still remained prevalent. Nice but like the prior taster won’t seek out especially given the price point. Disgorged 12/17/19.

Very dry 100% chardonnay elaboration with minimal sulfur addition. Now that disgorgement is recent, it does not make a big difference but its future is uncertain. On the nose is sparkling, full of nerve and full of red berries. On the palate it is creamy, even honeyed. Balanced and quite long. It's not bad at all.

En nariz es chispeante, con mucho nervio y lleno de bayas rojas. Al paladar se muestra cremoso, incluso meloso. Equilibrado y bastante largo. No está nada mal.

(Disgorged in 2019, 100% Chardonnay from 40 year old vines in parcel Le Cotet in Montgueux,) Youthful nose showing butter, tropical fruit, bananas and herbs in a nice and funky way. Acidic palate with yellow apples and a rounder tropical fruitiness on the mid before butter and an herbal note takes over on the nice and dry finish. (Probably best with 3-8 years extra cellaring)

DG 10/2017 Melon, ripe grapefruit, banana, violet and lavender, fresh herbs, wet stones, chalk, gunpowder, yeasty (almost beery), cranberries and blackcurrant. Surprisingly creamy texture with a high acidity, common with this producer. 90pt

Reminded me of Bereche in style. Bright green apples, lime zest and floral notes. On the drier side with plenty of chalkiness. Very energetic wine that’s a perfect pick me up on a weekday.

Nice, chalky flavors. Crisp but undertones of salt, chalk, earth, melon. I lost this in my cellar but glad I did as it it drinks well now. Bitter finish. Good. Not sure which base year this as I can’t find anything on the bottle, but I bought it in 2015. Doesn’t seem like a ripe vintage.
Next try of a wine from a for me until now unknown Champagne producer, disgorged june 2015, still a very fresh mouthfeel, green but ripe apples, some lemon, only a whiff of brioche, very elegant with a strong chalky minerality, long lasting refreshing aftertaste, a Champagne for Riesling-aficionados, highly recommended, **(**), 92+ potential

Champagne & Cameron (Etto - DC): I really love this Champagne for the price. Complex aromatics, on the palate its zesty, chalky, mineral-drive, crisp and vibrant but plenty of pretty fruit and biscuity goodness. Long, salty-mineral finish. Yum.

Love this producer and this wine. Gorgeous nose of lime, chalk, minerals, limestone. Palate is packed with piercing acidity, I love it! Laced with minerals, sea salt, crushed chalk and pure, vibrant lemon and kiwi fruit. Long, intense finish. For the money this is phenomenal.

A single-vineyard Chardonnay from a vineyard that combines the clay topsoil of Aube with the chalk of Côte des Blancs. Based on the vintage 2012 (90%) with the remaining 10% rounded out by reserve wines. The wines are aged in stainless steel (80%) and oak pièces (20%).
Pale whitish-yelow color. Ripe, fruity and somewhat restrained nose with nuanced aromas of golden apples, zesty citrus fruits, some perfumed white flowers, a hint of creaminess and a touch of smoke. The wine is very dry, light-bodied and airy on the palate with flavors of chalky minerality, juicy red apples, some saline tang, a little bit nutty almond character, a hint of creamy richness and a touch of savory spice. The high acidity lends wonderful focus and intensity to the wine, while the mousse feels soft, smooth and creamy. The finish is quite long, crisp and racy with dry flavors of herbal spice, creamy richness, some almond-driven nutty tones, a little bit of saline minerality and a hint of apple peel bitterness.
A very similar wine to the entry-level Montgueux bottling of Lassaigne, but this feels a bit more mineral, tightly-knit and slightly less approachable while showing a bit more subtlety and nuance. Almost like a same wine, only that Vignes de Montgueux is a better fit for early consumption, while this wine feels more suitable for the long haul. However, even for now this wine feels a notch better even if it feels a bit more austere and less approachable at the same time.

Lovely lemon and shells on the nose. Somewhat disjointed and tart for first 30 min but then mellowed and opened a bit. Still not as impressive as other bottlings of this wine I've had, alas. Never showed much depth.

Bubbles 2014; 11/15/2014-12/19/2014 (Home): 2008 dégorgement. Lemon, feve tonka, cumin. A subtle dose of lactic notes, butter. Paired perfectly with "flutes" (salty pastry with loads of butter). Chalky. Almost dusty on the palate. Incredibly young. Plays the line between classic and "bobo" very smartly.
Not at all rich, rather tense and nervy wine. But with a lot of savory flavors.

Kalk, vaniljesukker, modne sitroner, røyk og nøtter. Jura møter Champagne, og finner tonen. Følger opp aromabildet i munnen, med flott frukt og sitronaktig friskhet. Slank, men ekspressiv. Lang, syrlig og litt salt finish. 90p.

An ultra clean expression of Chardonnay: completely free of any sweetness, weight ot fat. The bright, dry nose shows pure notes of ripe apple, dry wood, crushed seashells and delicate spiciness. On the palate light, airy and gentle, possessing plenty of class and harmony. Not a crowd pleaser, yet not all that austere or challenging in other ways. Restrained for sure, but definitely a fine BdB.

Popped this for an impromptu pre-New Years meal of porcini risotto. With the main course, this wine displayed a distinct sherried note to me, but not in an altogether bad way. Intense golden Delicious apple notes, persistent medium mousse, and a nice balance of fruit and minerality, especially for a BdB. By itself (and later with homemade dark chocolate bark) the wine shed its oxidative aspects and was even more enjoyable. Very nice.

Sweet fruit, brioche and cream. Some mineral notes but hiding behind the creamy sweet aspects. Marshmallow on the nose and through on the palate really distracts - seems to be barrique influence and I would prefer without. Hard to say how this will age / integrate, as the wine is very young (the 07 version) but a bit underwhelming to me.

fantastic. delicious upon opening (the code on the bottle says 070409 which means bottles in 2007, based on 2006 wine, disgorged in 09), but fills out and shows all of its layering with an hour open. hard to let it be though - its laser-like focus and pretty chalky fruit, it's sheer refreshment makes it difficult not to drink. its worth waiting though, as there are layers of minerals and a richness and depth that emerges, a nutty character to the soil tone.

Medium gold in the glass. Rich aromas of sweet lemon, butterscotch, yellow apple, and vanilla. On the palate, this is rich and fairly dense with layers of butterscotch, marzipan, apple, lemon, and some stony notes. The finish is long. The bead is fine and mousse abundant. Served at 48F and it showed very well. Worthwhile and very tasty.

Bright fruit nose of fresh granny smith and golden delicious apple with lemon cream, vanilla, nuts, minerals and a hint of oxidation. The nutty quality becomes a little more pronounced on the palate, but all of the notes on the nose come through. Medium + body. Bright and fresh acids without being searing. Superb Champagne. Yum. Some of the hard edge of this wine (L. 061107!) already seemingly dissipated; quite probably a good chunk of fruit from 2003 in here. Not honeyed like THAT vintage wine, and certainly not the dosage to stand up to fire roasted salsa, as was attempted. Not dissimilar from a Larmandier-Bernier in scope.

Melon, ripe grapefruit, banana, violet and lavender, fresh herbs, wet stones, chalk, gunpowder, yeasty (almost beery), cranberries and blackcurrant.
Surprisingly creamy texture with a high acidity, common with this producer.

2012 base vintage, disgorged 06/2015. Racy and austere at first, this bottle showed very well after about an hour open. Shellfish, and amaretti biscuits on the nose, a creamy texture.

Chalky. Almost dusty on the palate. Incredibly young. Plays the line between classic and "bobo" very smartly.
Not at all rich, rather tense and nervy wine. But with a lot of savory flavors.
