The Sampler in London just wouldn't get back to me about where these were and probably sold them off. Apparently they are doing away with en primeur sales. Just as well. Very poorly handled.

Drinking really well at the moment. Vibrant acidity with secondary flavors on the palate. Honey and dried fruit. Saurternes age slowly so I suspect this will age for another decade or more.

Drank over a couple weeks. Initially, it was a bit flat and advanced, but the leftovers drank better more than a week later. I don't see this getting better with additional age, so start drinking them now if you're holding.

Drank with torchon of foil gras! Lovely paring... Deep honey golden color. Apricot, quince and honey on the nose. Not a lot of botrytis but really really good. Drink or keep another 10 years!

This was on fire tonight. apricot, pear, honey, and a distinct baked apple pie filling (with plenty of cinnamon/spice) note round out this wonderful Sauternes. Acidity balanced. Not incredibly complex and without the endless finish that would push the rating up higher but this is really, really good. Secondary notes are entering and this should drink well for another 10 years.

Wow, so spicy tasting! Just right sweetness and acidity. Drank this outside around the fire pit after dark, so couldn't take good notes, and can only provide an approximate score (could be higher).

A rich and sweet Sauternes with a copper/gold hue. Dominated by orange zest, orange marmalade and honey. It has a long finish and a nice amount of fruit and is quite aromatic. An excellent wine.

Pop and pour from cellar. Creme brûlée on the nose. The palate is apricot and honey with a long finish. This wine is in perfect drinking form now if you prefer Sauternes with a younger profile. I’ve not had a Myrat with enough age to know how it transitions to a mature stage.

Kept under condition 2 since june 2010, under condition 1 since september 2012 (see my profile). Color: amber. Nose: fresh tropical fruit, a light note of honey and of green herbs (!). In the taste citrus fruit (orange and a bit of mandarin) honey. In the finish honey and a slight bitter, but also pleasant mature note. OK acidity. Well balanced. A delicious wine. Kept the way I did it, I would drink another bottle within (half) a year. 92.

Wonderful again though this is as dark as bourbon!?
Complex with loads of aromas and flavors (Burnt sugar/caramel, marshmallow, stone fruit, apple). And with substantial acidity, its borderline fantastic.
Prior bottle was almost exactly a year ago and this continues to show consistently. Caramel, spice, honey, tropical notes and burnt sugar notes on the nose. Medium bodied with caramel and honey initially upfront, adding orange, mango and pineapple and then golden peach through the middle. Backside retains slightly tart lemon note along with acidity and balanced spices. The fruit is the star here, with the acidity providing structure enough for the wine to show well and not come off as flabby. This is probably best drunk over the next 3-5 years as it may show some additional complexity down the road, but extended aging at the current level of acidity is a dice roll.

These half bottles of Myrat were only about $20 so a good value. Spice is heavy on the nose and developing a darker color already, somewhat of a burnt orange feel to it. A bit short on the finish and not very complex but there is a lingering honey taste to it so not bad.

Not a good showing at all. Rich tropical fruits, drying a bit, but with an almost chemical bitterness and not much acidity support. Never finished it over three days and it was going further from drinkability over that time.

I swear, this seems to be on some kind of boomerang. The past two bottles have been better than all preceding them, except the very first. Chugging along nicely.
Kept under condition 2 from June 2010 until september 2012, since then under condition 1 (see my profile). Color: a bit dark golden, towards orange. Banana and passionfruit in the nose. In the taste apricot and passionfruit. Very sweet but with a nice, interesting acidity. A slight, not disturbing bitterness in the finish. The tast was a bit "flat", modest in a certain way, and I guess that this is not the most complex Sauternes. But is was nevertheless a complete and very attractive wine. At the second day clearly less detailed. Best to drink within two or three years? At the first day 90-91, at the second 87-88.
Acidity needed for delicious, full throttle Sauternes. Immediate opening. We’re full of orange and spice and everything nice and looking for an energetic and buoyant spirit to help lift us to new heights. Apply within and you could make the difference in someone's evening!

Prior bottle was only eight months ago and the wine showed consist with prior notes. Orange, honey, spices marmalade and mixed tropical notes on the nose. Between medium and full bodied with honey, orange, mango and pineapple upfront. Fruit still shows plenty of acidity-derived brightness. Mid-body adds a deeper, richer golden peach quality. Backside continues to show a lightly tart lemon note, moderate acidity and integrated spices. Agree with many other reviewers that with a bit more acidity/structure, this wine could be a real standout. As it is, the fruit continues to show good complexity and depth and there are enough structural and balancing elements to continue to make this wine enjoyable across the near term. I have one bottle left for July 2019 and while it will last beyond that point, I don't see much potential for more time offering improvements. This is a wine to be enjoyed over the next few years.

750ml - Surprisingly good. While color is golden, wine is bright with fresh acidity. Palate gives pineapple, apricot, spices, honey. Med acidity, Med body, Med+ length. Fantastic QPR, purchased for $30 USD

Deep orange in color - looks older than it is. Candied orange peel, honey, apricot, baking spices, and caramel on the nose. It's a rich, toothsome sauternes that coats the palate and delivers sweet, pleasurable sensations from the get-go, though ideally I would like to see more acidity for freshness. Probably at peak now.

Prior bottle was 28 months ago (July 2015) and the wine has evolved noticeably in that time. Floral, orange, apricot and honey on the nose. Still between medium and full bodied (13.5% ABV) with the acidity in balance with the sweetness. Lots of tropical fruit notes upfront, especially pineapple, orange and mango with notes of apricot and rich peach through the middle. Light spices, a toffee note, lightly tart lemon and a good amount of honey towards the back and through the finish. Good richness throughout and overall density was a plus. The mid-body through the finish was the highpoint of this wine as all the components came together beautifully. As noted, the acidity does balance the sweetness and richness of the fruit/honey notes, but there's not enough of it to suggest this will be a wine that will improve long term. It certainly has some years ahead of it with probably some modest improvements, but perhaps this is a wine best enjoyed while it still shows youthful fruit. Next bottle for me will be either July or November 2018.

Epic 2001 Sauternes Horizontal (San Francisco): Tasted single-blind. From a 375. Among the darkest of the flight, orange-copper colored; moderately aromatic nose, some orange marmalade fruit; palate is full bodied, rich texture, medium-plus sweetness, coppery character, nice acidity throughout the midpalate; medium finish. Not bad, but fully aged at this point. This wine has always seemed advanced for a 2007. 86 Day 2: Simpler than I remember, some pure orange fruit but seems quite advanced on the palate with plenty of copper notes. Heading downhill, and this bottle is at full maturity. Drink up! 85- today.

nice color but limited aroma. Nice complexity but not as good as some sauternes. By the third night it was still quite good but not as deep or complex as what I had hoped for in this case.

From a 375. Medium orange color advanced for its age but consistent with my other bottles of 07 Myrat; nose is moderately aromatic with some fruit, some botrytis spice; palate is full bodied, rich dense sweetness but also a nice thread of vibrant medium balancing acidity throughout, medium-plus alcohol but well balanced, fruit has a purity of orange, almost confectionary; medium finish. This wine has been varied at multiple courses of its development but at this point is simple but well balanced, rich and dense but with a nice thread of acidity, and good persistence. Probably the best Myrat vintage I have had and certainly worth having purchased, though I think it is ready to drink now and at peak enjoyment (age won't give this much more complexity but it will lose its vibrant youthful fruit). (My note from 4/2016 is almost identical to this.) 89-90 Day 2: When chilled, this has a slight bitterness that detracts. Would drink this on the first day at cellar temperature, pop and pour.

An amber color that makes you think you're drinking a '97, rather than an '07. This sort of drinks like a poor man's Guiraud, in a theoretical world where said poor man couldn't swing the extra $5 to trade up. Is that just a cheap man?
The expected orange marmalade notes come across as an orange caramel. Beyond that, you get honey, saltanas, vanilla, toffee and a bit of nutmeg. The very rich style seems a little simple and a little two-note. In the richer side of Sauternes with Rieussec, Guiraud and others, this would be closer to the bottom. Being a Sauternes, it is still delicious, but there are much better options, particularly with the depressed market for sweet wines.
From a half bottle. Surprisingly dark in colour and entering a maturity phase. The wine had a lot of complexity for a young Sauternes - honey, tropical fruit, caramel, oak, and some waxy notes and other mature characteristics. I really enjoyed it tonight.

I haven't had this golden beauty in a while and now its even more goldener. Once again stone fruit, caramel, some caramelized sugar, spiciness, and full satisfying acidity. This screams for some rich cloying desert like creme brulee or perhaps a creamy or brie cheese. But I went all foodie tonight and paired with Nutter Butters. Dare I say, two great tastes that taste great together. Why, that's rather catchy. Nabisco, feel free to use that one.

From a 375. Solidly orange color; aromatic nose with honey, orange, burnt caramel, baking spice; palate is full bodied, excellent freshness and medium-plus acidity throughout, some orange fruit that fades through the midpalate, alcohol is medium to medium-plus and reasonably integrated; medium length finish. This is a very nice bottle of sauternes for the price, but nothing to go crazy over 89-90. Looking over my previous notes from 2010-2014, the color has definitely darkened to a deeper orange, the fruit has integrated, and it has made the transition to moderately mature notes, and I'm discounting my note from 3/2014 which is lower than the others and must have been an off bottle. Drink now and in the medium term.

Bright copper appearance. Deep and penetrating nose of dried apricots, oranges, golden raisins, and spices. This never loses its edge, offering waves of apricot, mango, and orange flavors draped in a satiny texture, vibrant intensity, and concentrated grandeur. Flashes tremendous length, balance, and richness, and remains clean, fresh, and persistent on the finish.

From a 750ml and it was darker than I expected from a sauternes so young, but it didn't seem to take anything away from it. Apricot, honey and spices on the nose. Medium to full bodied, but with excellent overall density. Apricot and honey through the middle with lemon, toffee and almost a raisin quality towards the finish. I found the acidity to be in balance with the fruit, at least to the extent that the wine never came off as honeyed, syrupy or sticky sweet. It is a dessert wine and it was certainly sweet, but I never found it out of balance. While I think this wine is still on the upswing, I don't think it will be as long lasting as some sauternes and I will drink mine within the next ten years.

Apricot and honey on the nose. Medium bodied, with good acidity and Botrytis; but not as unctuous or concentrated as other Sauternes; and therefore, to my taste, somewhat lacking in the sweet department, and results in a bit of a shorter finish.

More lightweight that less expressive than I remember, despite taking on a more orange-brown color. That said, we had an '05 Suduiraut Sauternes on the same night and it was no more interesting than this.

Tasted over the course of a week from 375. Pours just a touch darker than expected. Abundant botrytis, lemon curd, a touch of volatility, flecks of bright grapefruit, caramelized apple, caramelized overripe pineapple, and a slight burnt sugar and lemon peel note. The palate is obviously quite viscus with a light citrusy midpalate and loads of marmalade on finish. Just a touch of bitterness clips things touch, but this is a very nice Sauternes with all kinds of complexity and a solid range of flavours. Just enough acid for me, but not as refreshing as the top shelf stuff can be.

From a 375ml. Much more advanced color than you would expect from an '07, but it was that way on release. It took a little while for this to open up, but this really lacked the richness and intensity that I love in Sauternes. It was pretty thin and was a little short on the finish. Not terrible, but you can do a lot better for like two or three bucks more.

4th Saturday Group (Mike's & LA's): Aromas of mango, papaya and pineapple with a honeyed apricot undertone. The palate follows the bouquet ending with a long, richly textured finish. Drinking very well now.
Starting to get darker in color, like coppery whiskey. Darker than I would have expected. Full bodied and delicious. Good balance of concentration, acidity and sweetness, although I prefer slightly more tartness and vibrancy. This was the last of my 6 bottles, and was the best one despite being a little flat. Great with the foie gras. Could use a little more depth/complexity/length for a higher score.

Beef and Bordeaux (My House): PnP. Bright brassy gold color. Honey truffle and treacle on the nose. Medium weight with ripe raisiny tannins. Yellow plum honey truffle and toffee flavours. Racy and elegant lingering finish. Great with creme brulee even better with a trio of blue cheeses (especially the Roquefort).

Dinner at Home (Fremont, CA): From a 375. Spice, nice botrytis and fruit, slight vanilla, intense on the nose; palate is full bodied, nice middle age with balance, fresh acidity, medium sweetness, a bit of spice, medium complexity, but fades a bit quickly by the late midpalate and finish; medium length finish. This is a particularly great bottle of this wine and a great value for the price (I've had this 4-5 times with variable scores), though the poorer bottles can sometimes make me rethink that. 89-91 Day 2: More subtle on the nose, integrated spice and apricot; balanced sweetness, thins out just a bit towards the midpalate. Pretty good, but not special. For the price, still a good value in this bottle. 89.

From 375. Coravin 3/30/14: Color is deep golden with slight tinge of orange, advanced for a 2007 vintage but typical for the 2007 Myrat; nose has a slight medicinal quality, orange menthol, slight baking spices; palate is medium-full bodied, rich mouthfeel with moderate sweetness, very smooth, orange and citrus fruit but a bit light through the midpalate so a tad too much alcohol shows through, simple at first with just faint hints of complexity on the palate with a bit of baking spice, a bit of acidity kicks in on the midpalate but not quite sufficient to make it vibrant; finish is simple and sweet. Overall this has lost a lot of character from when it was younger and is now a simple, lower-tier sauternes. Unclear whether this is closed or whether it was just always going to be better in its youth (I suspect the latter), and I think this wine was oversold based on high-scoring critics reviews. In any case, it is pleasant and I will wait 5-10 years before my next half to see if it improves. 84-86 Coravin 4/4: Similar to note above. Enjoyable to drink, but not that special. Decent balance though. Finished 4/6: Lacks character, but overall very pleasant to drink. I'm bumping it up a point or two. Nice to have a couple around, but not something that is worth a spot in the cellar for a decade or two from now.

A thick bruiser of a wine, at this time. Burnt orange/apricot marmalade flavors with loads of spicy botrytis character. Missing some acidity to carry all that power. I liked this better in its youth when it had more energy. I will be patient with its comrades to see if some elegance may yet develop. Nine more chances in cellar.

Paella Dinner (Home): It's hard to evaluate a Sauternes since they are all so tasty. Touch of orange peel on the nose. Syrupy on the palate, almost a little too much. Could use more brightness and acidity to counter the sweetness. Not particularly complex, although still quite enjoyable and a decent value.

Half-consumed over 1 hour. Consistent with 3/26/2013 note, less bitter but still not especially fresh or young-tasting either...very much a spicy, warm Sauternes. It did go pretty well with an improvised dessert involving baked peaches, honey, cinnamon, and a little blue cheese.
My instinct (admittedly based on modest experience with Sauternes) would be to serve this a little on the chilled side and drink up over the next five years or so, maybe ten at the outside.

Consumed over 45 minutes. Somewhat consistent with my 9/30/2012 note, this is still a heavy, spicy, baked-apricot type of sauternes, but this bottle was a but flatter and had a bit of a bitter (maybe sulfury?) note on the finish which I found offputting. It either lessened over time or I got used to it, though, so by the end of the evening this was drinking well enough.
Slightly flawed? Significant bottle variation? I'm not sure, so I won't score this one, but accounting for the bitter note I'd probably put this 87-88ish.
UPDATE: We left this in the fridge and just recently finished it after being out of town for a week. It came off a little simpler and more peachy, but it stood up surprisingly well, and the bitter note was almost entirely gone. Maybe it just needed some air the first time around.

Much, much better than 08/04/12. This is taking on an even darker golden hue. Aromas of marshmallow, caramel, and some stone fruit; similar flavors with a prominent caramel, carmelized sugar flavor. Enough acidity to keep this fresh and satisfying. Lots more in the cellar!

Very dark golden colour. Apricot and some spice on the nose. Honey and apricot, quite dense and sweet. Spice, a little ginger picks up on the back end, medium + finish. Lacks acidity, sweetness dominating the palate. Like this but would be much better with some acidity.

Night 1 (pop and pour): Nose of dried apricot, clove, peach cobbler, creme brulee. Medium weight, great length, poached peaches, cinnamon, flan, apricots, five spice, dark figs.
Night 2 (stored in fridge) - spice is more pronounced; lots of clove and cinnamon. Fruit is richer, more intense. Baked/dried flavors. This will be interesting to try from the 750 in a decade or so.

I have two cases left of 375's. After reading all the positive posts decided to pop one open. Hmm- Not impressed. Acidity was weak leaving the wine without it's brighter aspects. Hope this was an off bottle. A friend of mine cracked one open three months ago and it was great.

This sweet, Bordeaux wine is another example of how strong 2007 is for Sauternes. With a nose packed with honey covered apricots, ripe pineapple, vanilla bean and white nectarine, the wine is rich, sweet and packed with layers of honey coated, intensely ripe, tropical fruits and nuts.
From 750, consumed with our tasting group over 20-30 minutes alongside blue cheeses, figs, apple pie, and a few other tidbits. My impressions match closely with AAgrawal's 9/2/2012 note - this is on the spicy, honey-and-marmelade end of the spectrum, very tasty but maybe a little low on acidity to really be a long ager. Still, this was very tasty today.

From a half. Deep orange-gold color. This has traditionally been advanced in color throughout its development. Nose of orange, hints of copper, baking spices, honey. Palate is medium density, orange peel, transitions to orange marmalade, citrus, cinnamon, spices, balanced acidity; finish has great spice and balance, medium length. In profile this is an intermediate style... Lacking the richness of rieussec and the minerality and acidity of coutet, but still quite good at balancing fruit with spicy complexity. This is a solid mid range sauternes with great balance and flavor that is very enjoyable now. Drink over the next 10-15 years. 90-91 Update: Day 2- less spicy, less complexity, tad more sweetness showing (less acidity). Unlike most sauternes that improve for 1-2 weeks, this seems like it has already started its decent. Still pleasurable, but dropping it a point.

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours – -- 375 mL bottle --
NOSE: very intense, and expressive; lots of botrytis; toasty; botrytis-laden marmalade; not complex; what’s happening to this wine???
BODY: intense orange-golden yellow color; full bodied; looks dark for its age (which has always been true of this wine).
TASTE: sweet; smoky – matchsticks; candied pineapple; dried apricot; moderate oak; 13.5% alc. not noticeable; less apparent acidity than previous bottles; this bottle worries me as to how fast this wine may be aging. Might have to change course and drink my stash of this wine quicker than previously predicted. Massive reduction in score from previous bottles. Eeek!!
Blind tasted against another sticky from Provence. This sauternes is making the difference mostly with the strucutre : acidity and light bitterness of lemon peal. Nice flavours of orange and vanilla. Balance could improve with time, but do the hue also will ? Allready dark turning like a leaf. A good expression of sauternes , a bit over-rated by RP.

Deep amber color should herald an old Sauternes but this is super young which makes me skeptical as to its aging ability. Expressive nose of pineapple confit, vanilla, caramel and orange zest. Long and rich and sweet on the palate with caramel, apricots, honey, again the dried pineapple and very little acidity compared with other Sauternes of this level. No need to age this, it is ready to drink.

Mixed Bag, Mostly Bordeaux in KW (Chris' House): Popped and poured, followed over maybe 25 minutes. Informal notes as not spitting was beginning to take its toll. The nose reminds me of curried fruit; apricots, peaches, pineapple and maraschino cherries with some curry and cinnamon spice. The palate shows similar notes though a little too botrytisy on the finish for my tastes. Drink now through 2057.

Checking back in, this was more or less in the same place as the last bottle. Forward and ripe with flavors of orange marmalade and apricots with honey and good botrytis spiciness. This seemed to be a bit more electric in its early youth though this may round out with time. Delicious but this could use a bit more acidity to really be special. Great wine and a great QPR

WS Offline: The Secret Dinner (Vancouver, BC): A seductive nose of fresh honey, peaches, dried apricots, candied lemon peel, as well as caramel and white flowers. The honey notes carry through on the palate, along with a good amount of orange zest, cantaloupe, caramel, white flowers, as well as some nutty characteristics. Long finish, ending with notes or caramel and orange peel. Delicious, but would be more enjoyable if this carried a bit more acidity. Good.

WineSpectator Forums Offline; 7/29/2011-7/30/2011 (Piperade, San Francisco): Tropical fruit; unctuous but good acidity, excellently balanced wine with botrytis and spice. I have a few of these and will wait on my next taste. 91-92 Day 3: Golden color; still lovely tropical fruit; unctuous. Young, but actually not painfully young like an 07 Coutet that I had recently. This will probably be a medium-term sauternes, which is still 15-20 years of longevity.

Very darkly colored for such a young Sauternes - sort of a burnt orange which is appropriate as this has a predominately orange marmalade flavor profile. This is the sixth bottle of this I've had and it seems to be gradually softening over time, revealing a more honeyed flavor and texture. A nice vein of spice runs through this. A little less vibrant than it was last year though still showing good acidity which thankfully prevents it's from truely being "sticky" A bit disjointed yet though. Excellent freshness and while boldly flavored, this is certainly not "heavy" in the mouth. Manly but with a feminine side. Excellent and a great value with a bright future ahead. 92+
This makes me excited to try the '09 version - what should be another excellent value.

Really impressive, one of the best young Sauternes I've had. It's packed with luscious, exuberant tropical fruits drenched in honey, vanilla and floral notes, but at the same time there's a sense of freshness and lightness I've rarely found in Sauternes with really good acidity and each sip inviting another.

Golden colour. Nose: pure and vivid, with apricots. Taste: apricots, with a hint of caramel, a bit bitter; pure and rather powerful, with clear, good acidity. Still a bit disjoint, which diminished after one hour and a half in the glass. A young Sauternes, that might well improve over the years to come. 90-91.

Definitely some wow in this bottle; this wine had qualities that I find rare in Sauternes--a cool, calm nose, and a poise. The half we had poured quickly. The wood spice finish was enchanting, and initially, it seemed so much more like an Auslese--as Zach had noted, this was not heavy on the botrytis. I think it's a go-to given the value.

Drank most of the bottle after dinner. This is a big, boldly flavored stickie though it lacks elegance. Good acidity and a great freshness to the fruit. Recorked remainder (no pump) and placed in fridge only to be forgotten about. 92+
Discovered in fridge about a week later - not completely awful but loose and syrupy.

4th bottle and all have been very good. Orange blossom honey, dried apricot, pineapple, fresh cut grass with a nice, but well integrated hit of acidity. I have 2 bottles left and I'll leave those alone for a few years. Great QPR and keeping on the roll of odd year winners, bring on the '09's.

CT Offline with JAR1, tantotinto, and Hollowine (Lucio's BYOB, Houston): Another infanticide courtesy of JAR. Great nose on this with honey, pineapple, dried apricot, spice, and a grassy herbal quality that I acutally like. On the palate, apricot, pineapple, honey, marmalade, herb, spice. Finishes with searing acidity. This is built for the long haul, I would not be touching this for a while to let all of the components come together. It comes off as a little disjointed but shows great potential for the future. Lots of upside here and I think that in 10 years, this will be very special.

Not quite as incisive and vibrant as bottle I had 5 months ago, missing a touch of it's wonderful freshness. This might be on a little evolutionary ebb. Still really fantastic and a ridiculous QPR. 92 on day one, 94 on day two. Potential for real greatness in 5+ years. Love this stuff!

Triple WOW WOW WOW-I popped the cork and slowly inhaled. What the heck is this-a hundred dollar half bottle? Deep honey botrytis nose. Complex-round-full smells. Dark burnt caramel. You MUST pour this into a correct glass. For some reason for me an old spirits type glass I got from Sterling Vineyards 33 years ago works incredibly well. For me to get the full flavor of this wine is not to let it slide over the palate. Inhaling through the mouth quickly slurping the wine opens the full richness at this point in its youth. Dark deep apricot flavors intermixed with that wonderful botrytis stun the palate. The most important part is the acidity keeps the flavors from falling flat. Frankly I have tasted vintages of Chateau d'Yquem that did not match up to this. Of course the 1967 d'Yquem was the best sauternes I ever had. This is points away from that. I wish I could indicate how well this will age and the improvement that will follow, but I do not have those skills. An incredible value. I am giving the nose a 95 with the taste at this time slightly below that.

Very pleasant dessert wine, and extremely pleasant at the price. Sweet, but not too much so, and when the army of botrytis marches on Apricot launches the attach front and center, with honey, citrus and acicidity covering the flanks. this is so good now, it will never last till its designated drinking window.

More orange marmalade & apricots than tropical, this is a very rich and strong flavored wine that is balanced nicely by a light silky, almost feminine texture. Rowdy yet refined. Good acidity and a nice vein of botrytis spice running thru it. Great freshness. Very well done

This takes the crown for "All time QPR". Simpley a stunning wine.
For an '07 the wine has amazing depth and richness and that's just color. Looks like apple juice in the glass with a slight orange tint.
The mouthfeel is amazing, has the glycerin you'd expect but it's not like syrup. And the finish is immaculate.
you could tell me this was scored a perfect 100 and I'd believe it. Three left in the cellar and the challenge will be to keep my hands off the others, I'm very interested what this will do with age.

A little shy on the nose, but more than makes up for it on the palate. Tropical fruits with more of a butterscotch note than honey. Nice balance of acidity to sweetness with an extremely long finish that coats your entire mouth with what I perceived as a sweet lemon curd flavor. Excellent.

Medium plus intensity golden colour. Aromas of marmalade, apricot, marzipan, nail polish and balsa wood glue – acetone. In the mouth it has medium pus acidity, is sweet and has glycerol oiliness lending to the body weight. Flavours of honey and marmalade and the wine finishes dry and pithy on the medium finish. The alcohol is also a little intrusive and warm on the finish. Okay

Intense nose of passion fruit with a hint of bitterness. Tropical fruit with good botrytis and just enough acidity to balance it Very decent finish although I would have liked it to be a little longer
The only thing this lacks is some more complexity, so I'll score it 93 with the potential to reach 96 in years to come

Gobs of tropical fruit on the nose. Palate is a balance of huge fruit and a palate-cleansing balance. It was unique... first lots of fruit, then almost like a burst of tannin (but in a white wine...), then lots of fruit, then again a palate cleansing, and then a great finish. Excellent value.

Not quite as good as I remembered from the previous tasting, but it's still a Sauternes, so still lovely. This time around I didn't get the crispness combined with intense sugars as I would expect in a good Sauternes. The tart/sweet balance was there, but not at a high level (like with fresh lemonade, for instance). In terms of smells, I picked up pear, preserved fruits (macedonia), and honeysuckle. On the palate I didn't find it particularly long or complex.

Decanted 2 hours before consuming. First tasted at 55F. Surprisingly med. golden color for a young wine. Big botrytis aromas along with pears, apples, and honey. This has a big mouthfeel and I get distinct clove/allspice flavors in the mid-palate. And we've got acidity! Though currently I found it slightly disjointed and the acidity dominates the finish. If this balances out nicely, I can understand why WS gave this 96pts. Looks like I'll be buying less Ch. Rieussec and more Myrat because this is a bargain. $19US for 375ml bottle.

Straw colour. Aromas build from burnt caramel to honey to grapefruit and pineapple. The palate is luscious but not cloying. Botrytis is evident in the orange marmalade character that comes across. Honey and citrus fruit flavours dominate and the acidity is well balanced. I enjoyed this with some raspberries last night but I can see it going equally well with blue cheese as it has a spiced edge and a slight savoury character that balances the sweetness. Delicious and relatively inexpensive for a half bottle from such a great vintage. I might just go and pour myself another glass while I work...

-- popped and poured – -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours --
NOSE: gorgeously intoxicating rich nose of golden raisins, botrytis spice, kumquat, and orange oil; hint of lemon oil; complex, goose-bump inducing awesomeness!
BODY: goldenrod color; full bodied.
TASTE: intense botrytis; good acid; 13.5% alc. is a tad noticeable; full palate; flavors of golden raisins, ripe apricot and toast; hints of maple and pineapple; not quite as complex as the NOSE: long finish of moderate to great intensity (75 – 90 sec.). I went into this bottle very skeptical of the range WS gave this wine (92-96), and I leave this bottle with the firm belief that Suckling was somewhat reserved in his judgment. I almost went “97”, coming *this* close to giving it a perfect “15” on the NOSE. I’m floored. It’s absurd that this wine can be had for $20 a half --- ridiculous.

This wine has always seemed advanced for a 2007. 86
Day 2: Simpler than I remember, some pure orange fruit but seems quite advanced on the palate with plenty of copper notes. Heading downhill, and this bottle is at full maturity. Drink up! 85- today.

(My note from 4/2016 is almost identical to this.) 89-90
Day 2: When chilled, this has a slight bitterness that detracts.

From .375.

Advanced color --- much moreso than previous bottle opened a couple weeks prior – tawny amber color. Low acid. Golden raisins. Pretty much in accordance with previous bottles.

Low acid; seems less oaky than previous bottles; flavors of apricot marmalade and botrytis dominate, with a note of baked carrots in the background; good to very good.

Day 2: More subtle on the nose, integrated spice and apricot; balanced sweetness, thins out just a bit towards the midpalate.

Coravin 4/4: Similar to note above. Enjoyable to drink, but not that special. Decent balance though.
Finished 4/6: Lacks character, but overall very pleasant to drink. I'm bumping it up a point or two. Nice to have a couple around, but not something that is worth a spot in the cellar for a decade or two from now.

Update: Day 2- less spicy, less complexity, tad more sweetness showing (less acidity). Unlike most sauternes that improve for 1-2 weeks, this seems like it has already started its decent. Still pleasurable, but dropping it a point.

Beautiful nose that literally jumps out of the bottle. Slightly thicker and more viscous than I remembered from prior bottles. Still a great wine by any standard.

maybe it's a bit too early to drink now, but nonetheless very nice. medium-body, classic Sauternes.

Not nearly as good as previous bottle. Much more carmel and less tropical fruit. Not bad, just didn't live up to prior experience. Richness was missing a bit as well.

Great stuff. Unctuous richness cut by good acid level. Nice citrus tones to it, hint of sage on the finish. Delicious now, will definitely improve over time. Excellent QPR

Very nice. Melon and citrus on the nose. Very smooth finish, clean for a desert wine. Not too sweet. Great bottle.

Dinner at Lotus of Siam (Lotus of Siam, Las Vegas): Incredibly deep nose of tropical fruits and botrytis. Incredibly deep, rich and sappy at the moment but doesn't get clunky or overripe. Incredible freshness and balance here. A really stunning sauternes from a great vintage.

Wow! Must certainly be the sauternes QPR of 2007. Excellent tropical fruit and honey on the nose. Just enough botrytis. Great mouth-feel, texture and balance.

Pineapple and sweet stone fruit with a nice mineral bitterness on the finish. Enjoyable but not very complex...likely to improve with time.

Tropical fruit with good botrytis and just enough acidity to balance it
Very decent finish although I would have liked it to be a little longer

Light amber. Obviously still young and a little grassy on nose and palate. Spicy botrytis and decent acidity. 93-94 now, but sure to improve with time.

NOSE: golden raisins; strong botrytis spcie; orange oil; hint of oak; still expressive and holding-up on Day 3. Consistent with 6/1/2010 bottle.
BODY: rich golden yellow color; full bodied.
TASTE: botrytis spices; assertive flavor; golden raisins; rich; good acid; butterscotch hard candies; good acid. Consistent with 6/1/2010 bottle.

Wow. This is an amazing wine. Apricots and hazelnuts on the nose. Thick and very sweet on the palate, but with a nice botyrized edge. Wasabsolutely lovely with some Bleu d'Auvergne. It's probably infanticide to drink this now, but it's hard to resist.

Young Sauternes that has a great QPR. The acidity is phenomenal now and decent finish. Color is absolutely gorgeous. A bit shy on the nose (maybe it was served too cold) and on the palette apricots, pineapple. Outstanding value here!

Complex and detailed for the price, this offers a bevy of buttered toast, creme caramel, and roasted pineapple aromas, turning citrusy on the medium-bodied palate with generous orange confit, lemon curd, vanilla and oak flavors.

Golden, a bit darker than many other young Sauternes. Pineapple, honey and botrytis on the nose. Medium body, low acidity, tropical fruits, honey and coconut. Not quite enough acid for me, but still a delicious sticky.
